Detention Centre

After Oliver left Ava asked a nurse to keep an eye on Michael's condition and left the hospital. She hailed a cab and went straight to the detention center to see her father. However, when she reached there she stood outside the detention center for half an hour unable to step inside. She was terrified of what she would see inside, she was also afraid of what she was going to tell her father. She still hasn't found any way to get him out.

At that moment, a black Lamborghini was parked near the detention center. The person inside the car stared at Ava with narrowed eyes as he listened to Uncle Joe's report with an expressionless face. Oliver came here today to resolve some business issues, he didn't expect to see Ava here at all. He was confused and was wondering, why this woman would come here, so he asked Uncle Joe to find out. Uncle Joe reported back by telling about the incident that took place in Green enterprise and the news of James Green's arrest. As Ava entered the building, Oliver got out of the car and asked uncle Joe to let the commissioner know he is visiting.

Ava stared through the huge transparent glass uncomfortably as she waited for the prison staff to bring her father. However the moment James showed up, her eyes widen in shock at his condition. James had bruises all over her face, one of his eyes was swollen, and there was a deep cut at the corner of his lower lips. All his hair seems to turn white in just a few days. Ava couldn't hold back her tears and she start to weep silently before picking up the receiver. "Dad" Ava choked out through her tears.

James forced out a smile concealing the bitterness. Which father would want their child to see them in this condition? He sighed and said warmly, "Why are you crying my princess, I am doing fine, don't cry. Look at me I am ok, I promise!"

Ava choked out again, "Dad, I am so sorry, I am so sorry. I couldn't get you out, I am such a useless daughter. You are suffering here and I can't do anything."

James's eyes softened as he said, "What are you talking my princess, don't ever say that. You have become a doctor and are saving people's lives every day, I couldn't be more proud of you, sweetheart. Don't worry about me, I am really ok. I will get out of here soon."

Ava felt heartache at her father's words, her parents wanted her to be a pianist. She was very talented and learned faster than other children. However, after her graduation, she abandoned music completely and decided to study medicine. Her mother opposed to the idea but her father always supported her every decision, but now she regrets not following the path her parents chose for her. If she did, she probably would find a way to get her father out of there.

James's words didn't bring any comfort to Ava because she knew he was just trying to calm her but she didn't want to worry her father further, so she wiped her tears and asked, "What happened to your face?"

"It's nothing sweetheart I just fell in the bathroom accidentally when I was taking shower last night. Don't worry about me, I am fine, how is your mom?." James changed the topic and asked with a warm smile.

Ava obviously understood and her heart broke once again at her father's misery and her inadequacy to do anything. More tears came out of her eyes as she said in a determined voice, "Mom is fine, don't worry about her. Dad, I will find a way to get you out of here, Ok! Just hang in there a little while, I won't let you suffer more."

James's eyes softened and he opened her mouth to say something else, but the call suddenly got disconnected. It turned out the visit time was up. Ava placed her hands on the glass and wept uncontrollably as her father was taken away by the prison staff once again in front of her eyes.

From the surveillance room, Oliver was watching the whole interaction between the father and daughter indifferently, as if it had nothing to do with him. He narrowed his eyes and thought to himself, 'Ava, how does it feel to see your loved one in pain and unable to do anything? I felt the same back then. Now it's your turn to pay back.'
