Niva: A New Reality

YEAR 5506, a new technology is released which is called Niva. For hundreds of years since the founding of the new genre IEVR, developers have pursued the goal of achieving a full reality experience, a true IEVR. The leading company in this genre released the first groundbreaking technology which started the IEVR Era. The Immersi-00 immediately sold out like hot cakes, but in the end they could only reach a realistic experience of around 60%. Whilst most gamers were still very happy with this, hardcore and pro gamers were looking for something more. Enter RealiChek, a new company that has no previous gaming history, who released the next step in the IEVR Era. The Niva technology which had one exclusive game that is set in the world of Niva. (IEVR stands for Immersive Experience Virtual Reality) - Isabella has amnesia and she has been in a coma for several years now. Her parents are still devastated till this day, and they signed on a project the hospital has been working on. Which is to send her into the world of Niva. But of course they had to sign a contract. - I hope I can make this novel different from the other ones that are in this area. FYI, Belle does not know anything about herself when she first plays this game. Not her name, not her appearance or even her gender. Hope you enjoy as 'Belle' experiences this world that she will enter.

Element Test

Staring at the receptionist Minerva felt like she had seen a creature like this before. The receptionist was smiling with her mouth open showing two sharp canine teeth, on top of her long and groomed cinnamon colour hair were two pointy and very fluffy ears where the insides were a snow-white. Her somewhat wide and slanted eyes held respect, but she still couldn't get rid of the playfulness hidden in them. It had a very cute button nose that seemed to twitch involuntarily. She was sure this was the race she was going to pick before she ultimately ended up as a Faerie, a Kaithe.

She is still confused about that however as she remembered that shiny orb telling her she would be a human but in the end she was a Faerie. She ended up just disregarding those thoughts eventually though as she found it was pointless to think about it, as in the end she was grateful for being a Faerie, as she loves her life very much now.

The Kaithe receptionist looked at her and smiled, and then she spoke in the common language "Welcome-nya! I assume you are Miss Faerie Princess, correct-nya?" I nodded to which she continued to speak, "Please wait in the waiting room-nya, the manager said he will personally oversee the talent test-nya! But please take this [Explorer's Handbook] to read in the meantime-nya" Waving the cute kaithe goodbye she grabbed the handbook and a small card through the small gap in the glass panel. The Explorer's ID was prepared beforehand due to her own status as the Faerie Princess.

Heading upstairs Minerva walked past the people who she noticed earlier, and they were also staring at her with a strange gaze. She is quite used to the Faeries not being too different to her because of her status but these people made her feel a little bit uncomfortable. When she reached upstairs she entered a designated waiting room and decided to read through the [Explorer's Handbook] in the meantime.

Katelyn was one of the first people who bought the new Niva technology just before it sold out. She was never all that interested in games themselves but she was always interested in IEVR, as people never really regarded this as a game genre but more as a lifestyle. Ultimately she fell in love with various things that were related to IEVR and then stumbled upon Fantasy RPG type games which she found a passion she never knew she had for them.

She wasn't the happiest of people but she had a stable job that allowed her to feed herself and save up for anything that she wanted, that was enough for her. She was 206 years old and she got her own apartment complex room within a Super City on the Planet Ketthold, it was quite normal for average people to study for a hundred years but she decided to get the highest degree available which took her a bit longer. Moving out of her parent's home in the apartment complex it took her only around 23 years of savings to buy a living space of her own in a nearby apartment complex as there is plenty of land with the continuous exploration of the various galaxies, resulting in cheaper prices.

Since a year ago she had been saving for the Immersi-07 as the rest of her friends on the universal-web all bought it when that technology first came out, however she never had enough money compared to them who are all mostly rich young masters and mistresses. Waiting for a year she eventually got enough money to buy the Immersi-07, but before she could even spend it her friends nagged her to buy something called the Niva, as it was entirely better than the Immersi-07.

Therefore for the past week she has been in this World of Niva and found a great liking to it. It felt like she was living a second life with all of the pain and emotions being fully transmitted to her. But what she truly liked was exploring and the diverse amount of races and kingdoms she could travel to. One of the first places she wanted to visit was the Winterlace Kingdom, the Kingdom of Faeries as this is an unplayable race from the start of the game and who doesn't like adorableness?

When she got here she immediately went to the Royal Capital Ensledonn as it is the most natural place to go to when you want to experience a new race. Arriving at the Explorer's Guild she just accepted some E-Rank Quests and sat down to discuss with the rest of her party, but not long after a very powerful presence approached the guild and she was wondering who it belonged to. The first thing that entered through the door was a Faerie unlike all of the others. It was probably the cutest looking Faerie she had seen since she had entered Ensledonn and when she saw a very pretty Faerie behind this young Faerie who helped her to balance herself, she read the name above it's head.

[Quinn, King of the Faeries]

Immediately her eyes widened seeing who was behind the cute Faerie, looking back at the first Faerie she immediately noticed that she was staring at herself, or rather just below her face. Katelyn naturally noticed this and felt quite embarrassed.

'I bet her first impression of me is some big-breasted woman' she thought dejectedly.

In the waiting room, the manager of the Ensledonn's Explorer's Guild Branch eventually arrived, he was a somewhat older looking Faerie who had a pair of eyeglasses sat on the bridge of his nose. He held a beautiful orb the size of a basketball. Within this orb it looked like it contained the stars and the galaxies, this orb was an Element Orb which tests the elemental affinity of the one touching the orb. He placed the Element Orb onto the desk in front Minerva and Quinn and then briefly introduced himself, "I am Manager Finch, I thank you for visiting your Majesty and her Highness, I assume you should know how to operate an element orb but I will explain just in case..."

He then pointed at the Element Orb and begun explaining, "All you need to do is to place both hands onto the surface of the Element Orb and concentrate on the feeling in your hands". He then signalled Minerva to follow his instructions to which she did.

Placing her hands onto the orb she noticed how smooth it felt and she also felt a strange pulling sensation in her hands. Concentrating on that she then felt something leaving her body to which it entered the orb.

With a colourful and blinding light the orb started shining to which she had to squint her eyes. Within the light she noticed some colours. A swamp green. A white that had specks of gray in it. An ocean blue and finally a colour that seemed almost identical to the colour of the orb.

Manager Finch saw these colours and was pleasantly surprised as they signified Nature elements, Wind elements, Water elements and a rare type of element which is Space. But what made him the most surprised was the intensity of the light, it certainly meant that this Young Princess in front of him was very talented indeed.

Please be sure to read the [Explorer's Guide] in the auxiliary chapters!

I do wonder when Minerva will start to kill monsters, it would certainly be interesting to write and then read about.
