Madara, to become the Ten Tails Jinchūriki, had to first obtain the Nine Tailed Beasts. Yet, by then, he was already aged and lacked the strength to forcibly capture the Tailed Beasts. So, he devised a plan to gather the necessary components for his resurrection and the Tailed Beasts' capture.
His first move was Uzumaki Nagato, to whom Madara granted the Rinnegan to manipulate him into performing the Outer Path — Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique at the opportune moment—reviving Madara himself and facilitating the capture of the Tailed Beasts.
The second piece in this intricate game was Uchiha Obito, assigned to monitor and guide Nagato. In a bid to steer Obito towards darkness, Madara orchestrated the capture of Nohara Rin, Obito's beloved, by the Mist Village.
Rin would become the Jinchūriki of the Three Tails, and Madara used a genjutsu to make her return to Konoha. There, she coincidentally crossed paths with Hatake Kakashi.
What's even more uncanny is that, when Obito reached the scene, he witnessed Kakashi supposedly killing Nohara Rin. In truth, it was Nohara Rin who leaped in front of Kakashi.
Obito, ignorant of the actual circumstances, witnessed the woman he loved being slain by his closest comrade, and he spiraled into darkness, obtaining the Mangekyō Sharingan.

"Infinite Tsukuyomi, is this truly your ultimate plan?" Nagato's eyes held a sense of foreboding.
Uchiha Obito had pretended to be Madara, convincing Nagato that the Ten Tails could bring about a "nuclear" peace in the ninja world. He had even summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path (Gedo Mazo), and all of it was a part of a conspiracy.
"Brother Zheng can confront formidable adversaries like Lu Buwei, enduring humiliation and carrying heavy burdens. He'll fight back."
"Take a deep breath, as long as I have maintain my mindset, I can fulfill my wish."
Uzumaki Nagato sighed deeply, flipping through the pages of a book.

Obito smirked in anger, slapping Uchiha Madara outright.

Uchiha Madara's eyes widened, radiating repulsion, deftly maneuvering to dodge the attack.
He could survive even if the earth moved and the skys turned, but he could be sealed.
Once locked in Kamui's space, there would be no escape, and if sealed, he would face eternal imprisonment.

The humiliation from being deceived was insignificant compared to resurrecting Rin.
"No," Uchiha Madara admitted readily. "Only the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique can't be used right now. Otherwise, wouldn't I resurrect whomever I desire?"
The Outer Path — Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique consumed varying levels of chakra based on the time of the person's death and the condition of their body.
If the individual had been dead for too long or their body was missing, using the jutsu would be a life-for-a-life exchange. But Uchiha Madara was reincarnated, immortal. If he could use the jutsu, he could resurrect anyone at will.
"Why did you reveal so much, then?" Obito asked with a sly smile.
"I believe someone else can do it," Uchiha Madara replied, shifting his gaze to Obito's right.
"Hm?"
Obito suddenly turned his head when he felt something.
"Uchiha Ran?"
"When did you get here?"
Ten meters away, stood a young man with black hair and black pupils, wearing a smile.
Who is this person, and why didn't Obito sense his presence earlier?
"I'm just a Shadow Clone," Uchiha Ran explained.
Uchiha Ran pushed up his glasses and continued, "I've marked this place with the Flying Thunder God Seal. I arrived before Black Zetsu could escape."
Obito's heart sank. This member of the same clan was much stronger than he had anticipated. If it weren't for Uchiha Madara's warning, he might never have detected this person's presence.
To his surprise, Uchiha Madara appeared nearby as well, and he had released the Shinra Tensei, which allowed him to sense Uchiha Ran's arrival.
Uchiha Ran spoke again, "Did you preserve Rin Nohara's body?"
Obito's eyes shifted, and he asked in a trembling voice, "Are you willing to help me bring her back to life?"
"Piece of cake," Uchiha Ran replied with a smile.
Uchiha Madara added, "But I have one condition."
Uchiha Ran raised an eyebrow, "What's your condition?"
After learning from Black Zetsu about the truth behind the Infinite Tsukuyomi and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, Obito was determined not to follow that path again. Reviving Rin and protecting her became his sole purpose.
"Revive Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina as well," Uchiha Ran said with a grin.
Obito's body trembled, and he hesitated. After a moment, he replied, "That's….. Alright. After I bring Rin back, I'll make amends for my past actions. I won't be worthy of standing by her side otherwise."
Uchiha Ran nodded and formed a hand seal. "I'll withdraw for now. We'll discuss the rest later."
