The Sun and the Owl

Light cascaded down through a mansion set in Los Angeles. Flowing water ebbed and flowed around it in a spectacular pool circled around the structure. The corners of the mansion were set with giant classical looking colosseum pillars. An expansive garden and orchard sat on each side of it.

Light brown hair flipped around from a female standing in front of a large shelf of books in the main room. The door had opened letting out a light and peaceful melody alerting of someone entering. Bright green eyes blinked at the brightness from the outside world.

A figure entered in a boisterous manner definitely not hiding his presence. He flung his long coat and fadora off onto a chair and his smile could brighten even the most sorrowful souls. Long golden hair fell in a seeming waterfall around him . His blue shining eyes stopped on the woman in the room. Fishing something out of his pocket he produced something covered with a dirty cloth and he tossed it at the woman.

" Amazing" she gasped as she caught the object . " I can't believe that you were able to procure it before they could. I figured we would have a much harder fight on our hands."

Laughter filled the room that could melt the most stubborn jaded people in seconds. " You always seem to doubt my abilities and I constantly prove you wrong. How are you the more intelligent one, exactly" he joked.

She couldn't help but smirk , but added an eye roll for good measure. " you just always surprise me . It's a wonderful thing. " she took the cloth with two fingers and a frown of disgust as she dropped it to the floor. She held what was a very ancient looking book in her hand with gold engraved glyphs adorning the front.

" They definitely won't have an advantage now" he grinned from ear to ear. " oh , and by the way , I have the three going to pick the girl up now as I was able to locate her whereabouts."

The young woman's eyes furrowed a moment slightly confused at this. " You found her exact location this soon? " she quickly walked up to him. " We have been searching forever for the right time ."

The man danced slightly in a giggling fit. " Sometimes it is but fate that finds the way . We went about it all wrong in some ways , but all is in harmony now, sister." She nudged his arm and swung her arms around him in a giant hug of pure happiness. " You always find some way though everything by luck don't you " she said as she moved away examining the contents of the book.

Page after page could be heard flipping in rapid concession. The woman was either extremely quick at reading skills or she was glossing over it . " This is all quite impressive and it's been so long that I have wanted to see what was on these pages." Plopping on a fancy couch that stretched around the room to continue reading.

The woman's brother sat down near her with his ever present smile and admired her determination in academics. " in a few days time or so we should have that other dilemma wrapped up so we can focus on the main problem at hand." Looking around. " I always did admire the decor here. It reminds me of our youth more than I could even imagine".

She grunted slightly and waved her hand dismissively. " Shhhh. This is so important now. " she regretted instantly being so rude. " I apologize. You are right. I have always loved this home too. It will be a shame when we will have to travel from it , but we must do what must be done. "

"Truer words have never been spoken " the man seemed a little forlorn at the thoughts of what was to come and a slight chill filled the room. " There will be a lot of chaos and gloom to come before the end of this all" he suddenly spoke without his usual smile.

His sister turned to him and put the book down for a moment. " Yes there will be , but we must always remember how important this is. "
