Chapter 4: The Tower

In this strange and unfamiliar place, people were filled with confusion and fear, not knowing what to do or how they had arrived there. Suddenly, a brilliant light illuminated the sky, and an angel descended from above.

Many in the group felt a sense of awe and wonder at the angel's appearance, as if witnessing something truly extraordinary. However, for some, a strange, eerie feeling crept in, giving them an unsettling sensation.

Person 1: "I can't believe I'm seeing an angel in my entire life."

Person 2: "Are we facing some kind of punishment?" said by an anxious individual.

Person 3: "The angel is so beautiful. I wish I could experience this moment more." said by someone admiringly.

"Be cautious. Even though they may be divine beings, I sense a rather malevolent, dark energy from them. I recall a dream where someone protested, and the angel, without hesitation, took their life." Von warned, standing guard with a vigilant stance.

"We should stay together in case something unexpected happens. Let's remain guarded and alert." Ren suggested.

"Humankind, the gods have granted you a precious gift, but remember, with great gifts come great challenges." the angel conveyed.

"Behold the status window, a mirror of your soul's growth, and the Tower of Gods, the monumental staircase to ascension, where each step bears witness to your journey" the angel proclaimed, while displaying the status window and an image of the tower to the people.

Everyone's status window appeared on their faces. They were informed that those who had heard the voice of the messenger were the chosen ones.

"Bullshit! Are we in some kind of game? Do you really think we have time for your nonsense?" the middle-aged man retorted.

The angel gave the man a fierce and threatening look and a murder intent.

Do you think of us as mere toys that you can order to believe in and follow these questionable gods?" the middle-aged man challenged, slowly advancing toward the angel.

With a quick flick of her finger, the angel directed a beam of light at the protesting man, and in an instant, his body disintegrated in an explosive burst.

A wave of shock and fear washed over the crowd in the aftermath of the incident. Shouts and cries filled the air as panic spread through the group, with many voicing their desperate longing to return to the safety of their homes. The atmosphere was fraught with confusion and distress, as they grappled with the unexpected and tragic turn of events.

"I've tried to be patient with you, filthy humans. I will not tolerate any protest against the word of the gods. Stop complaining, for you humans have no choice but to serve the will of the gods!" declared the angel, emanating an intense, angry aura.

"Damn, this is insane." Ren exclaimed.

"Man, I was really hoping this part wouldn't happen, but seeing it in reality is just terrible." Von remarked.

Around the crowd, the frightened women sought reassurance as one of them asked, "Why is this happening to us, sis? Are we absolutely certain this isn't just a nightmare?"

"Just don't leave my side. We have no idea what might happen." said the older sister, her concern evident as she tightly held her sister's hand.

"Now, I will explain the Tower of Gods. This tower has 100 floors. Just being chosen doesn't guarantee you entry into the tower. For that, dungeons or portals will spawn in various areas of Zone 5." the angel elaborated.

The angel provided an explanation that reshaped the world's geography. What were once countries on Earth are now referred to as zones. For instance, Korea has been renamed as Zone 5, and the cities within it are now called areas. This transformation left the people even more bewildered, as they grappled with the profound changes unfolding around them.

"To enter the tower and qualify, you need to reach at least level 25. You can track your progress using the status window, and we will assist you in adapting to this new reality more smoothly." the angel said with an eerie smile and voice, sending a shiver down to the people.

The angel summoned her power, and suddenly, a box appeared in front of each person. With an authoritative tone, the angel instructed them to open the box, they would each receive a random weapon to aid them in the challenges ahead. The people, still reeling from the earlier events, hesitated but eventually followed the angel's command, uncertain about what lay inside the boxes.

"In my dream, I was given a sword. I wonder if it's the same." Von said.

With anticipation, Von opened the box, and to his surprise, he pulled out a gleaming dagger. The unexpected weapon left him both intrigued and apprehensive, wondering about the significance of this choice.

Ren opened his box, hoping for a weapon that would suit him well. To his great luck, he found a sword inside. A sense of relief washed over him as he gazed upon the weapon.
