"Why are you looking for an escort mission?" Rosie asked as she glanced at their Adventurer card.

"I feel like taking one of these escort missions. I want to travel to another city." Will did not tell her about the recent incident happening at the adventurer party.

"We will take this mission." The young Succubus registered the mission under William's name.

"Sir be careful, these days escort missions are getting more dangerous." Will nodded.

Outside the SouthSnow city,

In the disguise, Cain and Rose waited for a certain person. "Rosie, please be careful. There is a 100% chance that someone will attack during this escort mission. Please be on alert all the time."

"Don't worry so much." Will and Rosie waited for 5 minutes before a carriage that was being followed by a group of guards came.

"Are you the adventurer party who accepted the escort mission?" A young slightly fat man walked out of the carriage and observed Will and Rosie. The man was only 5 feet tall and had blond hair and tan skin.

"Yes, we shall be guarding you till we reach Alvalenor city."

"Can I see both of your adventurer's cards as proof?" With the recent disappearance of the merchants, the other merchant in the city was very concerned about their safety. Liam Harvey was one of those concerned merchants

In addition to requesting an adventurer party, Liam also hired a group of 20 silver rank and one gold rank as his guards.

Will and Rosie didn't think too much and gave their cards to Liam. The adventurer cards are also used as identification cards in some places.

"Level 12?" Liam instantly frowned seeing William's low rank. But when he saw Rosie's level 50 rank, one couldn't tell if he was happy or sad.

Will and Rosie saw the change in his attitude. The friendly attitude he had when he greeted them was no longer there. "You two can follow us from behind. Make sure to listen to the orders of Captain Silas."

"Wh...Rosie almost lost her anger seeing Will was being treated disrespectfully If not Will had stopped her in time. Will shook his head and signaled her to remain quiet.

Meanwhile, Liam threw the adventurer cards to captain Silas and walked inside the carriage.

Silas was a man who was 6 feet tall and had a muscular body. Silas was wearing silver armor and had a greatsword on his back. His tan skin and his brown hair truly made him look like a giant. "Your name is Cain right?"

Cain, who was Will in disguise nodded his head. "Are you sure you're up for this mission?"

"What do you mean?" William frowned. He certainly did not like the mocking look on his face.

"You're only level 12. While everyone else here is level above level 35. Even Sir Liam's level is higher than ours. I am asking if you are sure that you won't become a burden on this journey. You're a young kid, hear my advice and back out from this mission if you don't want to lose your life."

However, in front of Silas, William wasn't the least bit afraid. He stood 1.9 meters tall and slim but muscular body. He coldly Silas and replied. "Thank you for your kind words. But I know what I am doing."

Silas for a second glanced at Rosie who already would have attacked him if Will had not held her hand. The cold look on her face was like the goddess of death staring at him. Without even realizing it, a drop of sweat began rolling down his face.

"Remember If anything happens to you or to your woman, we won't save you. You two are on your own."

Saying that Silas walked away. "Move out man. We don't have time." Everyone gave Will a look of disdain before circling around the carriage. 20 men stood surrounding the carriage. While Will and Rosie just followed them from behind while keeping a 1-meter distance.

"Why did you stop me?" Rosie asked in a low tone. Will could feel the anger in her tone.

"I promise I will you the reason when the time comes. For now, just control your anger." Suddenly without anyone noticing it, Will gave her a kiss on her right cheek which instantly calmed down the Succubus queen.

The distance from the SouthSnow city to Alvalenor city was about 60 km. Both cities were located in a region that was home to the largest mountain ranges in the Sithen empire. Magical beasts and demonic monsters hide in those mountain ranges, making the roads even more dangerous. A few years back, the merchants never needed any escorts to travel from one city to another as there were not any bandits.

Within these few years, the Sithen Empire suddenly experienced a sudden increase in criminal activities. The number of bandits increased. Each day more and more people died. Though the Empire took action against some big bandit groups, the small bandits always managed to stay hidden deep in mountains and attack the merchants or people traveling to other cities.

Walking on the mountain paths, Cain and Rose were literally left out of the group. Silas stopped caring whether Cain and Rose were following them.

After walking for hours, Silas found a nice spot to camp and spend the night. Cain and Rose sat 2 meters away on the wooden trunk and began having sandwiches.

"Fortunately we had bought some vegetables and dry foods with us." After accepting the escort mission, Rose took Cain to buy all the necessary items for camping outside. Using the fresh vegetables, and sauces Rose was able to make vegetable sandwiches.

"How is it?"

"It's really good."

The guards looked at Cain in envy as they were eating canned food. While Liam was having the most extravagant meal among everyone. He was happily eating the roosted meat that his slave prepared for him. The way Liam was eating without any concern looked like he was here for a picnic.

"Honestly I wasn't expecting you to be so good at cooking."

Rose gulped down the sandwich and smiled. "Hehe! Of course. I had worked as an adventurer for a long time. Unlike others, I mostly completed missions solo. After a while, I got frustrated with having canned food. And then I decided to learn cooking." What Rosie didn't tell him is that she went to meet a famous chef to learn cooking from him.

"You know after eating these sandwiches, I am having some thoughts of buying a house so that you can cook for me." Rose smiled and said nothing. Buying a house would have many advantages but there was a major disadvantage to owning a house. Both Cain and Rose would have to go far away or sometimes, they would have to go to another kingdom, and they wouldn't be able to enjoy staying in the house.

After Cain finished eating, he drank some water and slowly fought his face closer to Rose. The guards who were forced to eat canned food stared at the couple who were being intimate without caring about them which made them feel like they were eating dog food.

"Will, people are watching us?" Rose was a little shy about it.

However, instead of replying, Cain buried his face on the side of her neck, below her right ear. "We have been surrounded. be ready to create a barrier at my signal."

"Tsk! Look at them. Are they even here to protect Lord Liam?"

"With us being here, both of them are thinking that they can just relax and enjoy themselves."

"We shouldn't have bought these two extra weights with her. Even though the girl is beautiful, she is nothing but an extra weight to our group."

Hearing the words of the guards, Liam stopped eating and angrily looked at Cain and Rose who were intimately hugging without caring about him. "Hmph! Those two won't receive even a single penny from me."

Silas stood behind Liam. He looked at Cain and Rose for a second before looking at the surround. There was no need to say anything about them. Those two are clearly slacking off when they should be alert and looking out for enemies. In his opinion for of them are not fit for this kind of mission.

From the corner of his eyes, Cain saw a person who was about to release a destructive spell at them. "Rosie now do it."

Out of nowhere, a white beam of light that had some blue lightning flickering around it was fired at Liam. The beam of light was so fast and sudden that even gold rank wasn't able to react fast enough.
