The Unforgotten

In the visions Veil saw on her mind when Azazel transferred the locations and coordinates of the Umbral Reaver fragments, she only saw a cave that has markings on the walls and that cave is on a neutral land.

She does not feel too positive on going to such an unknown location, but if that is what it takes for her to get the solar aspect of her past Ruined Blade, she would have to proceed despite the threat she is feeling.

The Umbral Reaver has been split into 7 pieces, 4 of which have the 4 main mana types as its aspect, while the other 2 has the lunar and solar mana types as its aspect, meanwhile, the last piece is the handle which is also the main body of the Ruined Blade.

In Veil's past life, she initially wielded that blade as given to her by Nightshade and the blade spirits as their final memoire and also their will's manifestation.

The biggest problem is that the main body of the Ruined Blade is not included in the information provided by Azazel.

Veil dismissed the thoughts regarding the main body for now and focused on her current missions given to her, Azazel might have deliberately asked for her to search only for the fragments and not the main body for a reason.

After riding on a flying ship, she arrived near the border city of Purar, the second biggest continent in Terra, next to Eblistan's size.

From the city, she only travelled by flying and running occasionally to avoid leaving mana signatures as much as possible.

She belatedly realized that the condensed pure mana from the fragments in her spatial bag could forcedly leak out, thus, leaving mana traces into the atmosphere.

If the Dark Clown realizes those mana signatures belong to the fragments and that someone is collecting it, they will immediately dismiss of Veil, in the form of Runa.

In the Dark Clown's perspective, the Veil in this life is nonexistent, thus, they could dispose of Runa without a second thought, because in this life, Runa was not the one who absorbed one of the Dark Clown's World Crystal.

Veil manipulated the mana leaks so that it would merge with the natural atmospheric mana; the only major problem with it is that the mana in Purar is scarce.

She could only hurry as she gets closer into the coordinates of the cave, when she arrived, she found herself in a massive open plain, no cliffs or even caves that would lead to the images on her mind.

She spent the entire night searching for a clue and only until she discovered monster burrows did she able to trace a path leading to a massive cave.

Without getting any sleep, she hunted monsters while pathing towards the cave, she strayed far from the coordinates due to the monster burrows, but she could avoid detection in this way.

If she went ahead and dug a massive hole in the ground directly above the cave, she might attract unwanted attention or she might also cause the cave to be destroyed.

She chose the most hassle and time consuming path, but is relatively the safest choice.

After a handful more hours, she discovered rubble blocking a pathway, she checked the coordinates and she is confident this is the spot for the cave with scriptures on the wall.

Slash! Crumble.

She lightly swiped her hand imbued with ordinary mana to make a space in the rubbles, she then entered.

Hok! Hok! Hok!

When she completely stepped inside, the torches on the wall lit up one by one in a sequence until the entire cave space is bright.

Fortunately, she is underground now, if this much light is shown on the surface she would definitely attract attention.

She investigated the writings and the bone remains on the ground, she did a mental estimate and theorized that these remains could be here for more than thousands of years.

That amount of time is beyond even her past life, only half a millennium has passed since her disappearance, even if there is a time breach that occurred along the way, this cave may have existed since the Ancient War.

Without nothing else left to do, she experimented with different applications of fire type mana using the War Axe Chir Rada'kka on her spatial bag.

Similarly to the fragment on her Rosalia, she could slightly alter the mana surrounding in the fire type to generate a completely different type of mana.

The fragment of Rosalia which belongs to the Ruined Blade Umbral Reaver is its aquatic aspect, but later got changed into ice mana because of the recasting process and even its evolution with the Blackfrost shard.

If that concept is then applied to the fire mana on the war axe, she could imitate a solar type of mana, which could then activate the runes present with the scriptures on the wall.

Vuimmmmmm~

Soon after she altered the fire mana on her fingers, the runes glowed and after a short moment, calmed down.

'Is it working?' Veil thought to herself inwardly.

She tried and tried again to see if she could get a similar reaction, but to no avail.

Crumble!

Suddenly, the cave shook violently, Veil tried to balance her footing by freezing a spot to hold it in place with her ice mana.

["Who dares trespass my resting place?!"] A creature speaking divine language bellowed from within the cave.

"!!!"

Veil's eyes widened, she could understand divine language due to Azazel giving her a mark to understand different languages for her journey.

She did not expect to be using it so soon.

["Forgive me for my actions; I did not intend to disturb anything or anyone!"] Veil responded to the creature with divine language.

["Hmm, you have an interesting mana signature, human, and how could you speak the language of the Gods?"] The creature inquired.

["I was bestowed a mark to understand various languages to achieve my quest, I only visited this cave for that purpose alone."] Veil explained with a respectful voice.

Vuishhh.

The creature manifested into a humanoid shape after Veil finished speaking.

["Human, I am the Sun God Savitr. This is a cave that serves as the sole place for a ritual involving me infesting a vessel to be able to live in the human world."]

["However, so far, none has succeeded in bringing me a capable and perfect vessel, with that, I am not able to recover my body for thousands of years, just drifting away in this space eternally."] Savitr introduced himself and explained the purpose of the cave.

["I understand Esteemed Sun God, I was only looking for a fragment of my sword and it brought me here for the last piece."] Veil truthfully declared.

["Hmm, a fragment, is it. I may have someone who could help you on that. How you deal with the things after this is up to you, I cannot maintain this state much longer…"] Savitr waved his hands as some form of energy vibrated through the cave before he disappeared.

Wang… Wang… Vuim~

After a crisp sound rang inside the ears of Veil, someone she totally did not expect seeing here arrived.

She is none other than the Helios Dancer, Solara!

In her past life, she became a close friend to Solara after venturing in the Zekerion to search for the other Administrators, even if they did not spend most of the time together, they both still got their backs.

However, in this present time, Solara would not recognize her, at most, she could only work her way up slowly and patiently.

Solara is leagues stronger than her in both abilities and combat, she would not resort to a fight, but if it comes down to it, she would just lose and admit the entire truth.

Solara was able to gain full authority in the Underworld after unifying the entirety of the residents there, with that authority, she enabled herself to traverse both the Underworld and Terra without any backlash or conditions.

When Solara's full person stepped on the ground, the Rosalia loudly resonated with Solara, something within her is containing the fragment, and Veil could not point it out for now.

"Who are you?" Solara asked while inspecting the young girl.

"I go by the name Runa, I was searching for a fragment of my sword and it brought me here to this cave…" Veil introduced herself as Runa for now.

"A fragment huh, I do not know what fragment it is that you will be able to obtain in this cave, there are only bones and ritual language on the walls ever since I woke up here." Solara shared the truth of her origin.

"You came from this cave?" Veil asked in a slightly confused voice.

"Mhm that is correct. I was originally forced to become the Sun God's vessel, but it seems that I was not a good candidate for them so they just cast me out, but they did not know that I was still able to absorb a massive amount of life force and power from the ritual." Solara explained as she reminisced of the events on this cave and how her family was brutally killed.

"I am sorry for what you may have experienced in pain, by sharing your truth; I have also something for you." Veil smiled as she got closer to Solara's front.

"Truth? Out with it." Solara was visibly interested.

"I am Veil, the Adventurer you met in the Underworld to search for the other Administrators!" Veil dropped the massive truth.

"Veil?! How did you know of that name?!" Solara backed away as she caressed her arm with the name Veil tattooed on it.

"I still do not know the entire truth of my reincarnation, but after stopping the Great Collapse, I paid the price after the God Ultear proposed that I do so for rewriting the events that are bound to happen." Veil's heart ached, but she did not feel any regrets.

"…" Solara was speechless; she could not say a single word.

"With that, I must search for the perpetrator behind every problem in this world; to that end, I must first collect my sword's fragments to have the chance to fight this perpetrator." Veil stated with a serious voice.

"Very well, I shall believe you; I did not expect seeing you here at all. But I do not have any leads on the fragment you are looking for." Solara wiped her tears and calmed her pounding heart.

"I will try to make you feel the wave that I feel whenever the fragments resonate with my sword." Veil unsheathed the Rosalia and added mana on the waves.

Vuim vuim vuim vuim~

Shortly after the waves collided with Solara's body, her entire body pulsated off similar waves.

"This cannot be…" Veil fell down on her knees.

"It seems that the fragment is embedded within my soul itself, this is what caused my partial absorption of the Sun God's powers even if the ritual failed…" Solara immediately understood that she is the last fragment Veil needs.

"I will not do this, I should just get back and combine all the swords and-" Before Veil could panic even more and talk, Solara cut in.

"This is my time to pay you back, Veil, when you left me alone in the Underworld I thought of everything I could have done for you back then and dying for you is one of it…"

"If I need to die for you this time, I would gladly do it, especially now that we are here, the exact place I was reborn."

"Just think of it as putting me to sleep, instead of living eternally and never growing old, I am no human anymore. You shall get back what is yours and let me rest here under your own hands." Solara's eyes reddened but she stopped her tears.

"No no no…" Veil refused to budge; however, she felt a familiar sensation coming closer and closer at an extreme speed.

This sensation is similar to when she encounters the Dark Clown; it seems that she has been detected after adding mana to the resonance of the fragments.

It is either she fails her mission altogether or kill Solara.

Stuck with a choice, Solara hugged the crying Veil and patted her back, "You know Veil that our time together has not been bad at all, if you want to save all that, you must do this."

"I am so sorry Solara, I promise to do everything that I can to bring you back!" Veil looked up to Solara and stood back up.

She pulled the Rosalia stabbed in the ground beside her and pointed it to Solara's heart.

"Farewell, I will see you again when I can… But for now, stop this rain…" Solara's tears finally fell down on her eyes nonstop.
