The Search for the Fragments

"Here they are." Harazath stated as he looked straight into the forest.

Massive divine mana signatures familiar to Veil instantly attracted her eyes, the Pentagram Archangel she was most familiar to: Azazel!

She was delighted and excitement bloomed in her heart when she saw the familiar face.

One by one, following Azazel is the rest of the Pentagram, with their own divine mana signatures flowing with the atmosphere.

"Why is there someone uninvited here among us?" The Pentagram Zarall pointed to Veil with an annoyed tone.

"She is my guest; she is the reason for our gathering here today. Without her knowledge, this discussion will not proceed anywhere." Harazath calmly responded to the hotheaded Zarall.

Ophanim and Sabriel warmly greeted the girl, while Azazel quietly watched behind.

Azazel resides in the great library in Arnelia; Ophanim likes foods so he hid himself within his restaurant located in Scal Pale; Sabriel owns an establishment that provides musical instrument to people who enjoys music in Ufrait; Zarall oversees various engineering teams throughout the continent of Stoele; lastly, Harazath owns the arena in Eblistan.

Each of the Pentagram decided on their own ways to blend in with humans, all except Azazel who just locked herself inside her beloved library.

Azazel has always been a lone wolf; she liked working alone and reading books, thus, the library.

When they were chosen by the Gods to reside in the human world to monitor and maintain the balance of powers, Azazel initially refused.

Only until the Gods offered her the idea of trials before entering her library did she agree to reside in Terra.

She happily made up the absurd trials to survive her attacks, which is almost impossible for the majority of the humans, in some unexpected events though, she still received visitors every now and then.

Meanwhile, subjected to Zarall's annoyance, Veil finally opened her mouth.

"Greetings, Esteemed Pentagram. I agree that I certainly do not belong in a scale of this gathering; however, I must inform of you an important matter, one that you would not be able to ignore and cast aside." Veil spoke in a respectful tone.

Zarall's expression visibly changed from annoyed to intrigue and interested, the other four just listened.

"I am actually not from this timeline; this girl's body is from a girl named Runa from the continent of Blacnard."

"The last memory I had was when I reached the Tier S in the Underworld Zekerion so that I could stop the Great Collapse."

"However, it seems that my body disintegrated from successfully reshaping the entire Underworld."

"When I woke up, I found myself in this body, all of my memories still intact, besides not being able to use my previous skills, I could remember everything."

"I am originally from hundreds of years ago, by the name of Veil, which the great Azazel would recognize." Veil smiled to Azazel while stating the entire truth.

"!!!"

The Pentagram has always remained calm and almost emotionless, but now, they are visibly shocked.

The most shocked is of course Azazel, who felt a tsunami of memory flooding her mind and eyes.

"You… You are Veil?" Azazel approached the girl, reminiscing Veil before her disappearance into the Underworld to restore her identity.

"Mhm, I am. I have asked the Pentagram Harazath to gather all of you here also to inform you of the Dark Clown. I wish to start moving to slay them." Veil responded in a determined tone.

"Very well, I give you permission, however, with your current body, would you be able to face the Dark Clown? Sensing your mana, I do not believe you can." Zarall responded.

"I agree with Zarall here, you should still gather everything you need." Ophanim added.

"Everything I need?" Veil flashed a confused look.

"Your sword, do you know its origin?" Sabriel asked the human girl.

"I have absorbed the memory of it when I wielded it, but I believe it is not the entire truth judging from your reaction." Veil smiled as she realizes her sword is not as simple as she thinks.

"Correct, your sword has only been recast, in reality, it is one of the original's fragments. Search for other fragments and bring it to each of us, until then, I do not permit you to act against the Dark Clown, we must absolutely avoid you from falling and becoming their puppet." Sabriel explained.

"I understand, thank you. However, how should I start for the search? Until now, my sword has not resonated with the other fragments; I believe I lack knowledge on where to search." Veil feels slightly disappointed.

"Worry not. I know everything that transpired in the world. I will give you the general locations of the five other fragments and the true Umbral Reaver, the blade of the Noctuas. All in all, you should search for six different places." Azazel explained.

"Azazel, gather all of us again when she collected everything, I must go back." Ophanim informed the other Pentagram as he entered his gate.

When the rest of the Pentagram returned to their respective places, Azazel remained with Veil.

"I will transfer to you all the locations, how you wish to gather the pieces you need is up to you, but beware, do not attract too much attention." Azazel stretched out her hands in front of Veil's head.

Vuimmmm!

Strands of golden mana entered in Veil's eyes, various images popping up on her mind.

Maratras, Elves' city has the Elven Artifact Sylmare serving as a power source, is one of the fragments that contains concentrated wind mana.

Bezdrogh, Orcs' main city has the War Axe Chir Rada'kka, which has become the Orc Chieftain's favorite weapon after finding out its concentrated fire mana.

Javinda, Troll's city has the Spear of Rasha, currently wielded by a warrior mastering its concentrated earth mana.

Satella, Lunari tribe's only city has the Moonlight Bracelet worn by a sickly girl which has lunar mana.

An unknown cave is the last location that contains a fragment that has solar mana, which also has the vaguest information along all the fragments.

As for the main body of the Umbral Reaver, it is on the Underworld Zekerion, still stabbed on the ground where she disappeared.

After carefully studying the locations, Veil thanked Azazel before leaving Aeria, the floating land above Terra.

She first intended to go to Satella, because she already has the most lead there after meeting Fiona.

The next location would then be Bezdrogh and Javinda, which are homes to Orcs and Trolls respectively.

Both races have become closely related to humans as they cohabitated very peacefully from the hundreds of years that passed.

They would not deserve to perish in Veil's hands just to meet her goal; she made a decent plan to avoid violence.

[…]

After travelling back to Eblistan via the gate she used with Harazath when they went to Aeria, she immediately searched for Fiona in the streets; she was only gone for a few hours, so she spotted Fiona after a handful of minutes searching various inns.

"The Satella is not too far from here, it is near a neutral land within the Eblistan continent." Fiona explained to Veil while leading her to the direction.

"Mhm, let's go then." Veil nodded and followed behind Fiona.

After flying and running around, they soon reached the small city Satella, home to the tribe of the Lunari, the owner of the Lunarian magic.

Lunarian magic draws power from the moons of Terra; however, they greatly weakened after the other moons of Terra were destroyed.

Now, only a single moon remains, which still enables certain Lunarian magic to be able to materialize.

"I go by the name Runa; I am an Adventurer from the Blacnard continent. I wish to see Fiona's twin sister's current state." Veil introduced herself to the village chief.

The village chief then led the way to the hospital where Fiona's twin sister Diana, is resting.

The moment Veil stepped foot inside the hospital, the Rosalia sent waves across her body; this is the fragments resonating with each other.

As they get closer to the room, the intensity of the waves is extremely violent, fortunately, only Veil could feel the sensation.

Diana is lying straight on the bed; Veil spotted the necklace producing similar waves to the Rosalia.

"May I go closer to her?" Veil asked to both Fiona and the village chief.

"Go ahead; please do anything you can to help my sister recover!" Fiona answered with tears on her eyes.

Veil walked closer and observed the mana flow in Diana's body.

She then unsheathed her sword and held it upside down, making a stabbing posture towards Diana's chest.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!! STOP!!!" Fiona reacted really fast, however, to no avail.

Vuimmm! Splatter!

Both Fiona and the village chief closed their eyes, they could not stop Diana from being stabbed, but when they opened their eyes they are surprised once more.

"W-where am I?" Diana lifted her upper body up and scanned her surroundings.

"Sister!" Fiona jumped and hugged her twin sister.

"But… what did you just do?" The village chief asked Veil sheathing back her sword.

"I simply treated her." Veil smiled.

In reality, Veil temporarily cut off the massive mana flow from Diana's body, when the mana stopped, she grabbed the Moonlight Bracelet.

This way, Diana's life will not suffer from any backlash whatsoever when the mana source was suddenly cut off.

The Moonlight Bracelet was originally inactive when it was recast, but it became active when Diana wore it and used Lunarian magic.

The bracelet flooded her body with amounts of mana she cannot handle, putting her to an indefinite mind down.

Veil did not bother explaining all that, she just felt happy and reminiscent from the reunion of the twin sisters.

"I will take this Moonlight Bracelet as a parting gift, I won't ask for anything more." Veil proposed that she take the bracelet for herself.

"Go ahead, if it is possible, we would like to give you more presents." The village chief hurriedly suggested.

"Please, this is more than enough for me. Thank you. I will be going my way." Veil waved goodbye.

"Thank you sister Runa!" Both the twins simultaneously thanked her while she departed from the room, she could only shed tears with the goodbye.

Veil rested in a nearby inn for the night before setting off to the Orcs' and Trolls' cities.

[…]

After a dozen hours of travel, she reached Bezdrogh, where she requested a challenge against the Chieftain.

She proposed that she will be using the most ordinary weapon in the Orcs' armory, but if she defeats the Chieftain on a 1v1 battle, she would like his favorite weapon.

The Chieftain agreed thinking that the condition is unfair against the human; however, he was instantly proven wrong.

Swing! Wuoshh~

Veil swiftly evades every attack with ease as she sent the massive Chieftain crashing on the ground with a single slash from a dull shortsword she picked up in the armory.

She supplied a large amount of mana into the shortswords to complement its lack of sharpness.

She proposed the same thing against the Troll warrior from Javinda, which lost in a similar manner to the Orc Chieftain.

Now that she has the Moonlight Bracelet, War Axe Chir Rada'kka and Spear of Rasha, she is getting closer to her goal.

For ease of travelling and avoiding attention, she bought an advanced technology developed by engineers.

This is a crystal ball that can be embedded on a ring that can produce a small space in a different dimension, a spatial bag!

Each crystal ball has their own dimensions and spaces, which is mainly used for storage instead of physically lifting heavy boxes, weapons and such.

She kept her fragments inside the spatial bag so that she does not have to carry both the massive axe and the long spear in both of her hands whenever she travels.

Now, she travels into Maratras, an Elven city on the continent of Nadril, this is one of the complex parts of gathering the fragments, she could not simply steal or ask for the artifact especially when it is being used as a power source.

Upon reaching the city, she asked around and found out that the city manufactures various power sources, using the artifact as the main power source.

An idea popped up in her mind as she requested the Elven engineer that she wants to make a power source of her own.

The engineer happily agreed to her request, at most, she would only help them produce a product they can sell.

Veil unsheathed the Rosalia, the moment she did so, the eyes of the Elven engineers almost fell out of their sockets.

Veil manipulated the mana flooding out of the Blackfrost shard from the sword's hilt and let it flow into a crystal that would later become a power source.

The Elven engineers gulp down dry saliva, they could already feel the massive energy coming from the crystal.

After about half an hour of circulating the Rosalia's mana to the crystal, Veil felt satisfied that it is beyond the current power source in the city.

The Elven engineer that let all of this happen nervously contacted the Elven elder.

The engineer then led Veil into the city hall, where the elder is waiting.

"Where is the power source that could replace our artifact?" The elder asked with a proud look.

Veil pulled out the power source she filled with ice mana from her spatial bag out into her hand.

Shuikkk~

The moment the crystal appeared on her hands, the elder's jaw hung open, he could not believe that a random human suddenly visited their city and made a power source better than their treasured Elven Artifact.

"It is up to you what you are going to name this power source, but I am going to need the Sylmare in my journey." Veil said truthfully.

"Very well, I name this new power source as the Centys, the source of frost. With this power source, we would be able to improve our city on a larger scale; we would gladly give you our treasured Sylmare!" The elder teared up in joy when giving the Sylmare to the human girl.

Veil gratefully received the Sylmare and kept it on the spatial bag, now, only two places remain, she ventures towards the unknown cave with Sun God's scriptures!

Even I feel rushed from this chapter, but... I really don't have the techniques to expand the story further to drag it to 2 more chapters or something so... Forgive me.
