The Blood War

Veil expanded a great amount of mana to teleport directly onto Shurana; they are faring against the enemy with Darthoxis and his troops on the frontline.

Veil helped out and wiped out the flood of the enemies.

"Esteemed Primordial, it seems like the world is…" Veil said in an anxious tone.

"I know, we could only work our way up slowly, respond those who are still putting up a fight. Let's go." Darthoxis is similarly solemn.

They then split up their forces throughout the gates that Nerula and her students created.

Nerula also created a massive isolated space for evacuated citizens and even rescued survivors from various cities around the world.

In just a week, majority of cities have been wiped out; fortunately, Darthoxis' insight told her to evacuate all the citizens immediately, and even helped creating this isolated space capable of holding billions of people.

Among those who died in the war, Adventurers and Heroes are the majority, while the remaining are citizens who volunteered to guard their own cities.

The sheer number of monsters attacking each city is the main reason for the Adventurers and Heroes' defeat; initially, they bloomed with confidence for managing to cull down the monsters.

However, soon, the tides of battle turned against them, the enemies learned to cannibalize their own fallen allies' bodies which enabled them to gain more power.

Veil informed the remaining cities of the strategy to wipe out even the fallen bodies of the monsters, to disable them from growing in power.

After her information has been spread out through the communication channels set by Nerula, the Adventurers and Heroes that are still alive holding on to their own cities have focused on using fire attacks to burn the corpses.

The bitter war dragged out for another week, but the monsters are being culled visibly.

Meanwhile, on Sylphy's side, she has entered a deadlock against Armon whose weapon is an extremely evil sword with only a handle and a short blade.

Armon uses his own dark mana bestowed upon him by Kafka to extend the blade into a complete sword, thus, gaining devastating power.

Sylphy had no choice but to attack the monsters while contesting in strength against Armon at the same time.

Ancient Elven Technique: Moonlight Fragment!

Skill: Runic Rend!

Skill: Runic Discharge!

Skill: Crescent Thrust!

Sylphy's domain pulsated even fiercer attacks, the Runic Rend left marks on Armon's body and when Sylphy snapped her fingers, the Runic Discharge made all the marks explode.

Splatter!

Dark blood gushed out of Armon's back as he received the most attacks there, but Sylphy did not stop there.

The Crescent Thrust broke through Armon's defense when Sylphy poked her stick forward with rapid momentum.

Every time Sylphy's stick hit Armon's black sword, which is the Umbral Reaver, Armon's movement turned sluggish.

This is one of the effects of Crescent Thrust, breaking the opponent's defense by causing their reaction to slow down.

The massive force being reflected by the wave from Sylphy's ability is duplicating the amounts of damage from the Crescent Thrust.

Armon soon backed away by flying, finally stopping the deadlock with Sylphy.

"I have to admit that you are forcing me to reveal my cards before I take my revenge, but I will end you here!" Armon growled as various runes in the center of his sword glowed.

Skill: Abyssal Might!

Skill: Burning Darkness!

Both skills he used affected his sword, growing in size and being surrounded by black flames.

Swing!!!

Massive flames descended in front of Sylphy, she responded with her own attack.

Skill: Alvanite Demolition!

Green colored mana strands formed beautiful swirls around Sylphy's stick, she then pulled her arm back to build momentum, and then thrusted her stick shortly.

Vuimmmmm! Shookkkk!

Just the force of Sylphy's attack washed away the massive black flames coming to devour her, when the weapons collided, Armon crashed down on the ground like a cannonball.

Aurghhhk!

He spat blood and it continued flowing out of his mouth, visible that he also took an internal damage from the Elf's attack.

Thud.

The extended part of the Umbral Blade melted until only the handle remained, Armon's aura greatly weakened as he fell down on the ground.

Splash!

Sylphy finished him off by crushing his heart with her stick empowered by the Alvanite Demolition.

Without sparing another second, she dashed towards the monsters swarming the city.

This specific army of monsters are the strongest, as they are led by Armon who already conquered tens of cities before reaching here.

The lives of Adventurers and Heroes on the frontlines, holding their own forts, are now dimming; they are close to losing their breaths just from exhaustion alone.

The last bastion is the Shuranian army evacuating and rescuing whoever they can still heal.

Darthoxis himself is now heavily wounded after countless battles teleporting across the world.

As reported by Nerula, there are now only 5 gates remaining on the enemies' side, the problem is Demons have started appearing and joining the fray.

Due to this, the Heavens are in their own busy time, Angels preparing to open their own gates to repel the Demons.

Demons have not appeared in Terra since the Ancient War, but this time, the Dark Clown Kafka seemed to successfully cause the Demons to join.

Valkyries, on the side of Angels, started the attacks, clashing on both the ground and the skies.

Humans and various races fighting puppet monsters capable of growing in power.

Higher lifeforms such as Angels and Demons also entering the war.

Winged horses appeared from massive white gates, Archangels flying straight towards the colossal Archdemons.

Just a single Archdemon's hand is larger than a 2-story house, trampling over a city is as easier as breathing for this level of Demons.

Slash slash! Cling! Boom! Crack! Swoosh! Clang! Swing! Thrust! Swipe! Vuimm!

The whole world is now filled with the sounds of fighting, Kafka laughed loudly like a maniac who got out of a prison after thousands of years.

Kafka sent the remaining puppet they have collected before joining the war; however, this puppet is different as it is the corpse of one of the 12 Draconic Pillars, Azgorath titled the Oblivion Flame.

Among the Draconic Pillars, Azgorath is the largest and strongest Dragon; after all, he is the one who established the Draconic Pillars.

Kafka encountered Azgorath when he was investigating an unknown mana leaking from an empty land on an unknown continent from the South most part of the world.

This unnamed continent is not as large as the 10 known continents and is known to have no signs of life.

Due to this, no one chose to reside in such a terrifying location; Kafka took advantage of that to make this continent an isolated space to build their army.

However, when Kafka first built the isolated space, the isolation barriers are not yet perfect, thus, leaked out mana that attracted Azgorath's senses.

Kafka battled it out with Azgorath until they are both crawling on the ground, but unfortunately for the Dragon, Urziel arrived and stabbed a massive sword on Azgorath's back, piercing through his heart.

Kafka then waited to recover most of their powers before turning Azgorath into a puppet, which is now serving as their mount for the grand entrance into Terra.

[…]

Vuoooom!!!!!

A massive gate bigger than the Angels' gate appeared and then a looming silhouette bigger than the 50-meter tall Archdemons cast a shadow all over the continent.

With Azgorath's wings spanning over 1000 meters and the body as tall as 400 meters, cold sweat crawled down the spectators' backs.

Darthoxis smiled bitterly; after all, among the puppets gathered by the Dark Clown, only the Dragon's appearance and powers got retained.

Veil made a crumpled expression when she spotted the Dark Clown; she was not scared at all by the Dragon looming over her.

Sylphy teleported via a gate towards Veil's side after seeing the Dragon.

"I got this broken sword from an enemy commander, I thought of showing it to you." Sylphy pulled out the Umbral Reaver's main body to Veil.

"This is the final piece to my sword! With this, we will be able to repel the Dark Clown!" Veil stated in a serious tone.

Sylphy nodded and passed on the handle, Veil then melted the white handle of Rosalia and also the remains of the blade on the Umbral Reaver using solar and fire mana.

With only the Rosalia's blade, the Blackfrost shard and its handguard remaining, she replaced the handle with Umbral Reaver's handle.

Shik!

Fortunately, the handle fit with the handguard perfectly with a satisfying click, she attached the Blackfrost shard on Umbral Reaver's hilt and connected it back to the blue rose via mana strands.

A blinding light soon filled the dark skies, while Azgaroth is breathing flames everywhere, causing oblivion; Kafka's sharp attention picked up the light.

Vuimmmmmm! Swooshhhh!!!

'Rosalia, now meeting the last fragment of the Umbral Reaver, shall be reborn into Umbralia, the Night Rose.' Veil lifted her true sword in its complete state with a different version.

Supposedly, the true Umbral Reaver is fully black, wielding the power of the darkness to purge the darkness, but now, carrying the name of Rosalia with her aquamarine sword, she wields a blinding light to shine on the darkening battlefield with renewed hope.

Mana Expansion: Everlasting Penumbra!

Originating from Veil's feet, a snowy white aura washed over the entire battlefield she is standing on: the biggest and widest known domain skill to have ever been casted in the history of Terra.

Veil tightened the grip on Umbralia and jumped upward, like a bullet, she shot through the air, slicing the flames from Azgorath.

Swing!

Kafka barely blocked Veil's attack, but the latter suddenly smiled despite her failing to deal any damage.

"!!!"

Kafka noticed something amiss, Sylphy and Nerula's respective palms hit the ground, a translucent ethereal obelisk rising up and devoured both Veil and Kafka.

This was a makeshift plan Veil thought of to buy time for them to stop the Dragon and repel the Demons, which ultimately saves the world.

With Darthoxis fully recovering from his wounds, his leg muscles ballooned as he flew towards the Dragon, grabbing one of the claws and pulling him down.

The rest of the Heroes that are still alive chanted their own support skills for Darthoxis whilst the Adventurers repelled the remaining monsters.

Skill: Searing Chains!

Skill: Song of the Forest!

Skill: Spatial Barrier!

Skill: Grandmaster Reinforcement!

With various skills slowing the massive Dragon down, Darthoxis constantly bombarded the Dragon's wings.

The problem is that he is barely dealing any damage to the adamantine scales of the Dragon.

Sylphy joined the Archangels to Repel the Archdemons; Nerula joined the Valkyries fighting the lower Demons.

When the final wave of puppet monsters rained down and appeared from the destroyed cities, engineers of various races finally arrived with massive magic vehicles.

One of the vehicles with a mounted crystal cannon fired a massive beam of light that instantly disintegrated the monsters in a straight line.

The Adventurers then promptly joined the engineers' side to prevent the monsters from approaching the vehicles.

The final standoff of the Blood War is happening at the continent of Stoeles, the only remaining continent that has not been flooded by monsters, since it is the farthest from the South, which is the original direction of the isolated space.

There is an exception however for Alvanheim, which is not detected by the monsters, Iridia masked the city barrier and the entire World Tree with a labyrinth.

This labyrinth would cause the senses of monsters to be lost and lead them somewhere away from the city.

At this point, Alvanheim and Stalvan, the final city in Stoeles, are the only remaining cities in the world.

Even Veil's beloved city, Marlov, has not been spared.

The statues of Lozzaro all over the continent of Arnelia were tarnished with blood.

[…]

The urge to name it the Millennium Blood War, but I changed my mind since it will not last a millennium and even the Dark Clown's plan did not last that long.
