A Little Too Strong?

As the quakes become stronger, Veil did not slow down to rest while she escapes.

Slash slash! Rumbleee!

She continuously slashed the rubble on the passageway she is most familiar with; however, more rubbles and bigger rocks are now falling from above her.

She have not tried her newly absorbed powers yet, so she gradually slowed down and focused on her magic circuits.

Slowly, the magic circuits glowed with golden hue and atmospheric mana danced around her palm.

As she focused more calm and sharpened mana in her fingers, she suddenly thrust her finger forward and pointed it on the bigger rocks.

Skill: Dark Burst!

Break!!!

A fierce swirling black and golden beam shot out from the tip of her fingers as she bursts the mana she gathered.

Every rock got pierced and smaller rubbles got devoured by the massive condensed mana beam.

Vuimmmmm!

She continued her escape as she made a bigger space for her to fly.

After alternating rest and constant flight within 12 hours, Veil finally escaped the cave, it seems like the whole land formation around the cave similarly collapsed when the Dark Clown fired their energy everywhere in frustration.

The terrain gets reshaped from the massive earthquakes, Veil then rested near a treetop to recover her stamina and mana.

The commotion soon reached the ears of the Middle Realm residents, including the Gaias.

The entirety of Middle Realm has a total of 20 different cities lead by different leading races.

The monster races are different, as more than 50 monster races reside within the Middle Realm, either living in forests and caves.

These monsters avoid going city borders governed by different Otherworld lords.

The Otherworld or its Otherworlders is a general term to refer to different races that do not reside in the human planet.

This does not include Elves, Dwarves, Neastmen and more as they commonly coexist with humans.

These sub-races are also in the side of humans whenever their own world is under attack.

The human world is in the planet called Terra, it is one of the largest planets in the outside space.

Otherworlders from outside space rarely wage war with Terra; at most, they would only negotiate for exclusive resources.

As for the Otherworlders leading the Middle Realm, their lords meet at least once a year to discuss all forms of cooperation in expanding the Middle Realm.

After years of existing ever since they got banished by the Heroes in the human world, they constantly expanded their land through magic.

The Gods did not step in when they first expanded the mass of their land floating just above the Terra, so they naturally branched out to improve their own quality of lives.

During the annual meeting, they heard the news about the giant cave of the Cerberus falling.

This is indeed big news since no one among them has ever conquered the Cerberus' cave.

The Cerberus, guarding the World Crystal, grows in power every single day, so even these various Otherworld lords pale in front of the Cerberus.

Only monsters who naturally resided inside the cave benefitted indirectly from the World Crystal, however, now that the cave is no more, the World Crystal would similarly vanish.

The lords noisily inquired on their personal guards on what happened, they did not bother on the meeting at hand in front of them.

However, just as some of the lords thought of standing the meeting out, Varun smashed his fist at the magic-fortified table.

The table showed web-like cracks as it spread towards all the lords, the magic holding it together is the only reason it did not full exploded out.

"Quiet. Down!" Varun growled.

Dry saliva washed the throats of the various lords, no one among them dares speak against Varun, who has somehow grew stronger after their last meeting.

"What we need to prioritize right now is divide our work among our troops instead of everyone stepping out to find out among their own the cause of this ruckus!" Varun suggested in a grave tone.

One of the lords by the name of Irhaal, who leads the army of Ferelithes, immediately agreed.

He is the second strongest in regards to military might among the lords present with Varun still monopolizing the top spot.

Ferelithes boast a similar build to Gaias; however, instead of silvery white body with wings, they are akin to black humanoid rhinoceros.

Their bodies have a natural armored skin that is tougher than most monsters' exoskeleton.

Also, their gigantic muscles pack a lot of power; attacks from weapons that are not imbued with mana will undoubtedly break like sticks hitting a rock.

Otherworlders respect the strong, which is why their pseudo-hierarchal system is still established within the minds of all the residents.

The Gaia is like the sharp sword of the Middle Realm, whilst Ferelithes is the shield.

With these two races leading the Middle Realm on the upcoming war, other lords would not go against their wishes.

After coming to a conclusion, the Otherworlders become busybodies, dividing their new tasks.

The ones capable of flight like the Gaia, Jourans and Warthalls will investigate the cave and gather various monsters to strengthen their troops.

While magical races such as Skythes, Mageforge and Thr'ades empower the various fleets' weapons and expanded their lands.

Lastly, Ferelithes leading the rest, they trained the melee combatants and also sent out advance parties capable of stealth towards Terra, the human world.

[...]

Veil, running through a swampy forest, suddenly spotted hundreds of flying Otherworlders.

She then disguised her aura in case they check the forest, however, to no avail.

The flying army did not stop their rush towards her back, which is the cave!

She spotted familiar figures, the Gaia, which then prompted her to backtrack and investigate the army.

Also, she learned to utilize her magic arrays to save her travel time, which dramatically shortened her need to cross the places she already charted.

By injecting some mana, she could create gates serving as a teleportation point, she just need to project her injected mana on a chosen point and then her body will be instantaneously transmitted.

However, this takes a large toll on her mana reserves, which is why she used it sparingly.

When she arrived near her teleportation point on the treetop, the Otherworlders dug out some of the rubbles while the others flew above the cave to trace some mana activities.

Veil, not missing the chance to meet the enemies, immediately used her strongest attacks and newly learned skills.

Mana Expansion: Shadow Envoy's Descent!

Skill: Shadow Dance!

Skill: Shadow Weave!

Skill: Severer Blade!

As she finishes 20 consecutive attacks imbued with Shadow Dance and her purer mana, more and more enemies fell down as they sprayed blood.

Splatter!!!

The black streak of lights then rained down on the investigating enemies near the cave, while some got buried of the aftereffect of her attack that caused rocks to fall.

Lastly, the new Severer Blade duplicates her attacks done inside her domain, if she attacks an enemy, another enemy within the domain will receive a similar attack.

If there is only one enemy within the domain, all her attacks will be mirrored on that target.

Seeing that she massacred almost every single enemy except one, she spoke.

"Why did you come here and what is your purpose? Speak and I will spare you." Veil said in a cold tone.

The sole Warthall then explained of the plan to set out tonight to scout out the human world.

Unbeknownst to Veil, the Warthall gave a fake report and even left out some details such as the location of their base and such.

Just as Veil is about to ask more questions, the Warthall stabbed itself in the chest without any hesitation.

Veil snapped and with the muscles on her legs ballooning, she dashed towards the direction where she first saw the flying army.

Meanwhile, no one was made aware in the headquarters of the Otherworlders as to what happened to their investigating troops.

They just continued their tasks as they constantly sent out various troops until they halved their current army.

With the remaining half, they will serve as the main army to set the war against humanity while the scouting parties will flank and serve as backup troops.

Playing their cards right in this war will guarantee their victory to conquer massive lands in the human world.

Varun, training some footmen, suddenly left and entered his room.

Just as he was about to sit on the throne, a mysterious person spoke behind his seat.

"!!!"

"Do not act hostile; I am nothing but a spectator to this unfolding war. However, I must advise you, your force will face an unknown obstacle before you could set out your main army…" The mysterious person warned gravely as it slowly disappeared in the darkness.

This mysterious person was the Dark Clown who instigated the Ancient War.

Now, they are doing it again by manipulating the Otherworlders to set out immediately even if their schedule is laid out differently.

Varun, visualizing the war in his head, abruptly stood up and informed his troops to set out sooner than planned.

If they indeed faced this obstacle as the mysterious person mentioned, they will most likely die of regret had the plan fails.

"Understood, my liege." The Gaian commander nodded before informing the various armies.

As the various mages widened the gate to allow all the troops to enter simultaneously, Veil arrived at the gathering place.

Her eyes widened in shock as she watched millions of various Otherworld races boldly march towards the massive gate.

She would not take the initiative to attack such a big of a force, which was also not a part of her original plan as her only target is the Gaia.

As she scanned the army for the Gaias, she suddenly felt goosebumps behind her back.

Swing! Boom!

As she subconsciously blocked the attack behind her with a strand of shadow, she immediately summoned her shadow sword and established her domain.

Mana Expansion: Shadow Envoy's Descent!

Second Divine Technique: Phantasmal Laceration!

After absorbing the pure mana from the World Crystal, Veil modified the structure of her body's magic circuits.

As a result, she could now utilize the power of Azazel's Second Divine Technique, which is a stronger version of the first one.

Not only does it boast more power as an attack, but the mana extension produced by this Divine Technique would not waver even if the atmospheric mana showed abrupt changes or interruptions.

Unlike the first one that would be immediately cancelled out when special mana changes occur around the user.

As black and golden waves of energy stretched out from Veil's sword, she took the initiative to attack her enemy.

Break! Vuinggg!

She turned around and met the enemy's claw; she then got surprised by what she saw.

Varun was the one battling her, an Otherworlder who already attained Realms of Truth without receiving a higher lifeform's blessing.

After not seeing each other for quite a while, they are now almost equal in terms of strength; however, as the Gaia lord is a realm higher than the human, the former could naturally use stronger skills.

Skill: Revenger Thrust!

Varun summoned a golden white spear which instantly attracted Veil's attention.

Its aura is almost like a slumbering beast within the spear.

Even her willpower wavered when she made contact with the Gaia lord's attack!

This is because Varun's new spear is one of the 10 Famed Legendary weapons in the entire world, Otherworlds included.

The spear's name is Spinefall, the strongest spear that was once used by a Hero during the Ancient War.

Ngl, "Spinefall" is such a cool name, I would love to draw what the weapon looks like, but I don't do digital arts anymore due to work :<
