Creed's POV

I grabbed my binoculars and looked around for any kind of sign of life.

"Nothing. Not even a single animal." I said

"That's strange." whispered Josiah

"How's Ella?" I asked

"She's fine, just a bruise on her shoulder." replied Josiah

I sighed and put my binoculars away.

"Argon made it but I don't know about Mia yet." I said

"Mia will make it, don't worry. You should get that cut treated." said Josiah

"I did. But I'm more worried how 2B would react when she sees the message in my blood." I said

"She'll obviously get worried." said Josiah

"Of course she would." I sighed

I got up and regrouped with my team. Ella looked upset and disappointed in herself.

"Ella, are you okay?" I asked

She looks up but immediately avoids eye contact with me.

"I'm sorry I failed to execute the plan correctly." said Ella

"It's alright, I understand your situation." I replied

Ella nods her head but she still hangs her head down.

"We're moving." I said

Everyone got up and we started jogging further away from home. At times we thought we were going nowhere, other times I felt like we were going the right way. But I couldn't tell since now we're walking through a fucking desert.

"Why are there two deserts in one country?" I asked myself

We walked through the sand with a bunch of small canyon looking shit sticking out in some parts of the desert.

"How long is this desert?" asked Ken

"This sand is making me feel uncomfortable." complained Koi

She took off her boots and spilled out all the sand from her boots.

"Let's keep going." I said

George takes a sip of water and hands me his bottle. I took it and only drank a sip so that we could save the water for later.

"Thanks." I said

I made my way up a hill then I gapped at the scene. I saw buildings were sticking out from the sand. There were also small canyons sticking out in certain places near the buildings.

"Bloody hell." whispered George

"Search every building and see if there's anything." I ordered

We ran towards the buried city and I entered a building. I looked around and saw a sign saying that I was on the 75th floor.

'The 75th floor?'

I looked around and it hit me.

'This isn't just a building, it's a skyscraper. It's a buried skyscraper.'

I looked around and climbed the stairs, checking floor by floor but found nothing that would help me. I ran to the roof and searched around but then I saw something in the corner of my eye. I turned and saw some cloth that was ripped. I picked it up and examined it, dusting it off and flipping it around. It looked like it was a long sleeved shirt but there were a bunch of cuts around the shirt.

"How is this going to help us." I sighed

I threw the shirt down in frustration.

'Why am I acting like this, I've been looking for humans the past two years and why am I getting frustrated now.'

I put my hands on my hips and looked around the desert with what I think are now buried skyscrapers.

'What now?'

I went back down the 75th floor and then I noticed that I could go further down. I started to make my way down to the 74th floor but it was dark inside. I grabbed a glow-stick and used it to light the floor. I made my way around looking under desks, and shit until I found dead animals. I examined it and noticed that it was cooked.

'Yes we're getting somewhere.'

But then I noticed something that made me suspicious. The food looked like it was cooked recently since it was still warm.

I was about to get up when I felt a tip of a gun on my head. I sat still and slowly raised my arms up.

"Don't do anything stupid." said a female voice

I nodded so she grabbed me by the back of my hood and threw me against a pillar. I looked down as she pinned me against the pillar and I saw that she had a pistol under my chin.

"Who are you?" asked the female

"Creed Dominic." I whispered, "Are you an android?"

"Yea I am." she replied

"Dammit." I whispered

"What?" she growled

"Let me go, I'll explain everything." I said

"How should I trust you?" she asked

"Just trust me." I replied

"That's not reasonable." she snapped and pushed the gun harder against my chin.

"If I said this, would you believe me?" I asked

"What is it?" she asked

I sighed and looked around causing the android to growl at me.

"I'm a human being." I said

I saw her eyes widen and her grip loosened. She let me go but still had her pistol raised up.

"Where did you get that pistol?" I asked

"I found it." she replied

"Where?" I asked

"A 2 day walk journey east." she replied

"Sorry for interrupting you." I said, "But we're going to need your help."

"Don't apologize I was just scared, I should apologize to you." she replied

"It's fine I understand how you feel." I said, "What's your name?"

"Tory, I'm a scavenger." she replied

"Tory, I have a team with me looking for other humans. I know you must be tired but we need you in order to find them. The gun you're holding is one of the evidence." I said

She looked at me and surprisingly immediately nodded.

"I don't even know if my home is safe." whispered Tory

"Let's talk about this upstairs." I said

She nodded but she picked up some food and handed me one.

"I know humans need to eat but I just cooked cause I wanted something nice." she said

"Oh thanks." I thanked

We went upstairs and I gathered everyone but then Ella gasped and ran up to Tory and hugged her.

"Ella?! You're alive?!" gasped Tory

Ella nodded as she started tearing up. The others androids also seemed to recognize her so they all embraced her.

"This is awkward." I sighed

I handed a piece of food to George who devoured it within seconds.

"I suppose they're friends." said George

"I guess they are." I sighed

I took a bite out of my food and watched as they were still hugging and crying.

"She has a pistol, looks like a Glock to me. Wherever she got it, there must be humans there." said George

"Yea, and we're going to have to find them." I said

"Let's get going then." said George

"Let them have their moment." I said

2B's POV

"Is everyone here?" asked Anemone

"Yes, everyone's back." said Gianna

"I want the City Ruins to be heavily defended, I need every heavy weapon on every angle we can get. I don't want too many androids in one building, there's a chance a building isn't stable." said Anemone

We were all preparing for the huge battle ahead, I looked over to Avery who was taking care of Gally as she handed him to Popola.

"They're not going to be here in a week but who knows so everyone be ready." said 8B

8B had her armor on, it's been a while since she put them on including 64B and 22B.

"2B, is something wrong?" asked Nines

"No, I'm fine." I said

"Are you worried about Creed?" asked Nines

"Of course I am." I replied

He nodded but then Avery called him over so he left.

"I hate being alone without you." I sighed as I thought about Creed.

"2B let's go!" yelled A2

"On it!"

I ran towards A2 and my team.

"Do you think we'll be able to hold them back?" asked Avery

"We'll know when Argon and Mia get back." said A2

They're here." said 8B

Argon and Mia ran up to us and were panting.

"Relax, take a breather." said 22B

Argon sat on the ground with Mia and they looked like they were going to pass out. Argon was gasping for air, trying to catch his breath.

"The machine army, oh god. It's, bigger, than usual." said Argon

"How many?" asked Anemone

"When, we fought them, we, counted, 1,000 machines." panted Mia, "But, I think, there's more than, 10,000 machines."

I sharply inhaled from the number they just said.

"10-10,000?" quavered Nines

Anemone also looked scared from the number.

"How are we going to hold them off?" asked Gianna

"We can't..." mumbled Lisa

"But we have to." I said

Everyone looks at me but shakes their head.

"It's just not possible." said Anemone

"We've come all the way here, we have a spark of hope now!" I snapped

Everyone jerks up a bit except for A2.

"Creed fought for this and I'm not backing down." I continued

Everyone looks up at me with curiosity.

"Creed gave us, androids a purpose when we never had a purpose." I continued, "That's to protect mankind. YoRHa failed to do that so now we take on our true purpose."

A2 sighed but nodded in agreement. Nines then joins with Avery. 4S seemed a bit hesitant but he also nodded and joined. 8B, 64B, 22B looked at each other and nodded and joined. Anemone nodded in agreement and Gianna immediately agreed after. Lisa rolled her eyes in disbelief but also nodded.

"Argon, Mia?" asked Nines

"We're in, just give us a break." panted Argon
