2B's POV

"They're coming!"

Argon dropped his binoculars and grabbed his sword with Mia next to him.

"Fire!" yelled Jackass

Every began shooting at the incoming robots but then machines holding bullet proof shields came to the front of blocked the bullets.

"Mortars!" yelled Jackass

The mortar squad began firing at the machines taking out the line of machines holding shields but they were always replaced.

"Pods laser!" I shouted

Our pods began to shoot their lasers at the incoming machines. Most the machines holding shields were destroyed but then machines holding swords began to charge at us. The platoon kept firing taking out as many machines as they can.

"We cannot afford to go to close quarter combat, we'll lose too many androids." I said

"We'll all be dead in 30 seconds!" yelled an android

One android was shaking and crying. I approached him and grabbed his vest and pulled him up.

"Keep fighting! If you give up we'll die!" I yelled

He nodded so I dropped him and he picked up his gun again and started shooting. I waited until the machines got closer, the closer the better.

"Get ready!" yelled Jackass

One machine jumped in front of Avery but she pulled out her sword and stabbed it as it fell on top of her.

"Avery!" yelled Nines

Avery struggled to push the machine off but Nines and I helped her up.

"Now!" yelled Jackass

Three androids pushed a stick sticking out of a box and the entire road exploded, taking out most of the machines. Dust blew towards us so the three of us ducked and covered our heads from the dust.

"Open fire!" yelled Jackass

Everyone begins shooting blindly into the dust hoping to get something.

"Cease fire! Cease fire!" yelled Jackass

Everyone stopped shooting and it was dead silent as the dust settled down, revealing tons of machine bodies laying all over the road. The remaining machines were running back into the forest, leaving the others to rust and die.

"Body count!" yelled Jackass

"Zero android casualties. 80 dead machines." said my Pod

"Gather shells and bodies." said Avery

She turned around and I noticed blood stains on her shirt.

"Avery, you're bleeding!" gasped Nines

"Ahh..." whispered Avery

She just flinched at the pain and she clutched it.

"I'll be fine." she said

Nines helped her up and pulled up her shirt. The cut was pretty deep so Nines took off her vest and wrapped her stomach with some bandages.

"I'll help her get to the infirmary." said Nines

I nodded and Nines helped Avery up and led her to the infirmary. I looked at the battle and felt useless, I'm just standing here waiting for the machines to kill us but I just wanted to fight, to help. But I'm not a gunner, I wasn't built for that so I had no choice but to just wait it out.

"Hey 2B don't just stand there and help." said Jackass, "I wonder why Creed chose you."

I ignored her and just helped carrying the bodies and put them in a pile in a building.

"Why's Jackass like that? I mean it's clear Creed chose you but why is she so persistent?" asked Mia

"Beats me, he did say she was a good friend but didn't like it when she was so jealous over them two." said Argon

I shrugged and sighed.

"Are you not going to do anything? Like maybe kiss Creed in front of her?" asked Mia

"She still believes she has a chance. I don't understand her." I replied

Mia and Argon shrugged and got back to work.

'When are you coming back? I wish you came already...'

Creed's POV

"How many more days?" asked Tristian

"A day." I replied

The bear was walking next to me and it sometimes nudged me.

"I can't believe it's a female, plus it's fucking pregnant." said Tristian

"And?" I asked

"Nothing." he replied

I patted the bear and it grumbled in happiness.

"I think I know what to name it." I said

"What?" asked Ethan

"Pooh." I replied

Tristian and the other humans chuckled at the name.

"I like it." said Ethan

"Fits the bear." replied Josiah

I patted Pooh and it nudged my hand with her head.

"We need to move faster." I said

My group nodded but the humans groaned a bit.

"If we don't we're all going to die." I said

"Why are you such in a hurry?" asked Tristian

"I have a home that's under attack right now. If I don't get there in time, then I don't know." I trailed off

I unclipped my sword and looked at it.

'I have faith that you'll be alive.'

I clipped my sword back on my vest and gave Pooh another treat.

"Who's back at home?" asked Tristian

"My lover and my child and my friends." I replied

"So there's another human back there?" asked Tristian

"Yea, she was my Captain back during the war. We had a Russian as well but he didn't last." I replied

"So your Captain is your lover?" asked Tristian

"No no no, my lover is an android." I replied

"Huh?!" gasped Tristian

Everyone started gagging in disgust.

"An android I mean is she like them? Like can you tell if she's an android or not?" asked Tristian

"I can't tell, she's just as human as me." I replied

"Wait how did you get the child?" asked Tristian

"I had to transplant my sperm to my Captain and she got pregnant like that." I said

"I can't believe this bullshit." sighed Tristian

The humans were talking and scoffing in disbelief but I just ignored them.

"Creed look!" yelled Koi

I looked to where Koi was pointing and a hawk was approaching me. I stuck out my arm and the hawk landed on my forearm and I took out the note from his ankle.

"We've engaged the enemy. We lost 34 androids in just one attack. Their numbers are barely shrinking. I hope you're safe. From Anemone."

"Fuck..." I groaned

I pulled out a piece of paper and started scribbling on it, saying, please hold on for just 5 more days. I sent the hawk away and I rubbed my forehead.

"We might have to double time." I said

"What? But we can't run while carrying this much equipment." said Tristian

Pooh grunted and looked at me.

"Let's use Pooh." I said, "Throw out the useless shit."

The humans began to empty their bags, leaving behind garbage and useless shit. We put as much as we can in one bag and move onto filling another bag once it's completely filled and we piled it on Pooh.

"Sorry Pooh but can you carry this for us?" I asked

"You're actually talking to a bear?" asked a man

"Just reassurance." I replied

Pooh grunted and we put three bags on her, one with clothes and utensils such as soap and other kinds of tools, the second and third bag had every extra weaponry we needed. I tied a rope around the bags and Pooh so that it wouldn't slip off.

"Let's move." I said

We began jogging back towards the castle.

"If we continue jogging at this pace, we'll get there in 6 hours." I said

"I can't jog for 6 hours." said Tristian

"Well try too." I replied

We jogged and jogged through deserts, forests, swampy areas and all other kinds of shit. After about 4 hours of running, we passed by the factory George was detained in.

"We have 2 more hours to go." I said

Everyone was dying, some of the humans threw up or collapsed onto the ground.

"We'll take refuge inside." said Tristian

I nodded and we all moved upstairs to some kind of control room. I gave Pooh some food and water and she excitedly took both of them.

I pulled out my map and began to retrace my steps from a long time ago. If the entire camp of androids moved all at once, it'll be troubling for us.

"Get some rest." said Tristian

I wanted to stop them but I knew that if they continued, they wouldn't be able to continue on the next week's journey.

"I need a volunteer." I said to my group

My group gathered around me.

"I need someone to go back to the castle to tell the others to get ready to leave." I said, "We can't waste time waiting for them to pack up."

"I'll do it, I'm the fastest and I have the greatest stamina." said Havoc

He looked ready to run again as he started getting ready.

"You know the way right?" I asked

"I do, I'll get there in an hour." he said

I nodded.

"Good luck." I said

The others said their goodbyes and I watched as Havoc ran off towards the castle.

"I hope he makes it there safe and sound." said Josiah

"Me too." I sighed

"We're almost there." he said

"Almost, but time isn't really on our side right now." I replied

"I know, this is hard." said Josiah

I leaned against the railing and held my hands together.

"I hope she's still alive, I hope all of them are alive." I said

Josiah doesn't know what to do since as an android humans have different ways of comforting each other.

"Let's go in an hour." I said

2B's POV

"Avery, you shouldn't be moving." said Nines

"I'm fine, plus I'm only shooting." replied Avery

She sat on the ground and sighed as Nines helped her down.

"If we continue this, we might be able to last." said Avery

I watched the woods, waiting for a machine to come out.

"Let's hope, we can last." said Avery

Nines held her hands tightly in hers.

"A2 and the others are doing fine, I guess the machines are mainly focused here." said Nines

That's when I heard distant gunshots from both my right and left side.

"What the?" asked Javelin

"Nines contact." I said

"A2 what's going on?" asked Nines

"There's too many of them, more than usual!" replied 4S

"Same here!" yelled 8B

"Platoon split up!" yelled Jackass

"No!" I said

"What are you trying to get them killed?" asked Jackass

"No, if we leave our post then it'll be an open entry." I replied

"Then 1st squad take the left, 2nd squad take the right!" yelled Jackass

"I'm staying here." said Nines

"No go, they're going to need you." said Avery, "Go, I'll be fine."

Nines wanted to stay but Avery gently pushed him away while nodding. Nines and I left to go to the left with 1st squad to help out 1st platoon where A2, 4S and 12H were struggling to defend the incoming machines.

One machine grabbed an android and impaled him with a sword, blood splattering everywhere. I ran into the fray, jumped into the air and smashed my sword down on a machine cutting it in half.

Kong came into the fray and began to destroy the machines, smashing at them, throwing them at one another. I back kicked the machine and it crashed into a rebar sticking out on some debris.

I stood next to A2 and I nodded towards her. We both ran into the fray and A2 did a spinning hook kick hitting a machine and the machine stumbled towards me so I sliced it in half.

But then I started hearing gun fire to my right, where 3rd platoon was stationed, my platoon.

"2B go! We can hold them off now!" yelled A2

"1st squad, fall back!" I yelled

Me, Nines and 1st squad ran back to our platoon and saw Avery and the rest of the androids trying to fend off the incoming machines. The machines were already close enough, too close.

1st squad immediately started firing, supporting the other squad but it didn't seem to do much. Avery was struggling to put in a mag because her hands were shaking.

"Avery calm down, we can do this." said Nines

Nines held onto Avery's hands and she started taking slow and steady breaths as she slowly put in the mag into her gun.

"T-tank!" yelled an android

I looked up to see a tank rolling up behind the incoming machines aimed straight towards us.

"Fall back! Fall back!" I yelled

The tank fired and it hit Nines, sending him flying away.

"Nines!" I yelled

His arm was gone and he was unconscious.

"Nines!" yelled Avery

I grabbed his arm and picked him.

"He's going to live, fall back!" I yelled

Avery quickly pulled out a flare gun and shot it in the air, telling the other platoons to fall back. An android quickly pushed the lever down on the box and the entire road exploded but the tank was still moving. Everyone began running away from the enemy, Nines in my arms with Avery close behind.

"Nines! Stay with me!" yelled Avery

Nines groaned in pain and looked around.

"Ow." he groaned

"Avery get him to the infirmary." said 2B

I gave Nines to her and she ran off, towards the infirmary. We kept running and met up with 1st platoon and 3rd platoon in the second line of defense inside the buildings. Machines and the tank entered the center and the androids began to open fire.

"How are we going to take that down?" asked A2

I shrugged and looked down as the tank fired at the surrounding buildings where the other androids were in. We blew up the entrances so that the machines can't get in and we blocked every exit so now they're stuck in here.

"2B!"

I turned and saw Avery running towards me.

"Nines will be fine, but here I know what to do." said Avery

She grabbed a mortar bomb, hit the bottom of it on the ammunition box and threw it. It hit the tank and exploded but the tank still kept moving.

"You four, do what Avery's doing!" I ordered

Four androids grabbed some mortar bombs and began hitting the bottom of it on the ammunition box and threw it at the tank.

"It's almost down." said A2

But the tank started turning towards us and the barrel began to slowly aim at us.

"Pod laser!" I yelled

My pod shot its lasers and the tank exploded and the machines surrounding it also blew up. The remaining machines didn't know what to do so we kept shooting until not a single machine was left.

"It's over, we survived three days." said 4S

"If we're struggling on the third day then how are we going to last another week? Creed must be on his way now and with over 200 androids, he's not going to make it in time." said Argon

"Then we hold, for as long as we can. For Creed." I replied
