Creed's POV

Something didn't feel right during our walk back to the castle, something felt terribly off. Not a single animal noise, everything around me was just awfully quiet as if there's an ambush.

"Be careful, I don't like this feeling." I told Josiah

He nodded and we all drew our swords, the humans cocked their guns and we began to walk anxiously, being very careful. We moved through the desert looking place but the soldiers started getting tired.

"We need to rest." said Tristian

"Let's rest after we get out of this desert place, I don't like it here." I said

"Well, we can't go any further." said Tristian

"I don't like this place is safe so let's get out of here for now." I replied

They all nodded in agreement so we kept walking further through the desert.

"Now that you found humans, what are you doing to do?" asked Josiah

"Probably stay home, I don't really plan that far into the future." I replied

"I see." replied Josiah

"But if I were to do something, it'll probably be trying to capture the regions, expand and repopulate. Maybe even leave this island." I said

"Leave the island?" he asked, "To where?"

"Maybe look for more humans." I said

"You're going to leave your lover behind again?" asked Josiah

"No I'll bring her this time." I said

"I see, well, that's far in the future." laughed Josiah

I gave him a fist bump and we continued walking for about 2 hours until we got to the jungle. We passed by the body and apparently it was one of the few SAS operator friends.

"He died from poison, I tried going back to where we were detained to find some kind of antidote but I couldn't find any." she said

I sighed and we walked away from it and found a nice spot to take a rest.

"Okay get some rest, we're leaving in an hour." I said

They all nodded and I took a sip of water from my backpack and ate some cooked meat cooked by Tory. She killed a few boars and she was pretty good at cooking meat, it was pretty good.

The humans were talking with the androids, mostly how it feels like to be an android, what they can't do that humans can do and what humans can't do but androids can do.

All I was thinking about was 2B and the others back at home, they should be fighting the enemy either today or tomorrow. I wonder if she sent me another hawk with a letter or if she's currently fighting right now. The more I thought about her the more I got anxious about getting home.

But suddenly I heard a branch snap and I immediately drew my sword, and my team also drew them without hesitation. I looked deep into the jungle, waiting for something to pop out. I watched until I saw a giant bear reveal itself from behind a tree.

"What the fuck is that?" whispered Ethan

"An Ussuri brown bear." I replied

The bear looked hungry and aggressive as it bared its teeth, drooling and growling at us.

"Easy kill." said Tristian as he aimed his gun at it

"No, don't shoot, it may attract unwanted attention." I said

"Then what are you going to do, tame it?" he asked

I thought about it and it wasn't a bad idea so I grabbed the food I was eating and tossed it to the bear. Once the bear saw the food, it's expression soothed and it ate the food I gave it.

"See." I said

Tristian lowered his gun and I grabbed another piece of meat and slowly approached it. Suddenly it stood on its back legs and I stopped and got ready to fight but it sat down on its butt and started doing some kind of motion with its arms. I slowly approached it and stuck out my arm with the meat and it started eating it.

I sighed in relief and gave the others a thumbs up allowing them to relax. The bear finished eating so I turned and left but it followed me and nudged me with its head.

"I think it likes you." said Ella

The bear started grunting at Ella and she backed up a bit in fear.

"Looks like we got a new friend." I said

2B's POV

"If at last resort, we can lure them here, trap most of the machines inside the square and destroy them." said Anemone

"And if we still can't hold?" asked Nines

"We die trying." said Anemone, "Or we can have a safe squad take Gally."

"And who's going to be part of that squad?" asked 8B

"2B, Avery, A2 and 4S." said Anemone

"Let's just hope Creed comes in time." I said

"If he doesn't we have to hope for the best." said Anemone, "Let's review our plan."

Anemone points at different parts of the city.

"First will guard the right flank and the second platoon will guard the left flank." said Anemone, "Third platoon will guard the middle."

She points at the parts where the platoons were each stationed near the Forest Kingdom.

"Each platoon will have 2 mortars, half of the platoon will be firing squad and when they start getting near, the androids with melee weapons will be at standby and if they're about to get overrun they'll fall back and we'll start moving into a right round formation." said Anemone

I nodded in agreement.

"Every YoRHa android will be going around, reinforcing each platoon." said Anemone

"Wait how many androids are here?" asked Argon

"We have exactly 154 androids." replied Anemone

Argon nodded.

"There, they'll either be here in a few hours or tomorrow." said Anemone, "Get to your positions."

I was with Nines and Avery and we were supposed to hold the middle part of our defense line with a third platoon which sadly had Jackass as their commander.

"Snipers should be on the roof of the buildings. Machines won't know you're there." said Jackass

She turned and looked at us and smirked.

"Well if it isn't my rival, I thought you were with second platoon." said Jackass

I ignored her and just helped the androids set up the defense line.

'I hope there's no flaw in our plan so that Creed can come back home safe.'

8 hours later

The sun was setting and the sky was lit orange but the sky on top of Forest Kingdom was gloomy, dark. Kong joined us as well and he looked towards the Forest as if he's waiting for something.

"Scanning, I detect machines close enough for mortar fire for every platoon." said Pod 042

"Nines tell all platoons to open fire all mortars." I said

Nines did as told and I heard loud booms of mortars being fired into the sky and distant explosions.

"Tell them to only fire 10 rounds." said Avery, "We need to wait for now."

Nines did as told and after a few seconds the mortars stopped firing. The explosions died and it was awfully quiet as if they weren't there.

"Are you sure they're here?" asked Nines

I stayed quiet and Avery looked into her scope and zoomed in.

"Nothing so far." said Avery

She keeps scanning until I felt the ground underneath me tremble.

"I got movement." said Avery

"I see movement as well." said another android

Then out of the tree line, a whole wave of machines charged at us.

"Open fire!" yelled Jackass

I watched as all the androids opened fire at the incoming machines. I was supposed to be the backup squad just in case any of them break through the lines.

"2B shouldn't we join the battle?" asked Nines

"Not yet, if we go in it'll be difficult for the androids to shoot since we're in the way." I replied

"The machines are getting close!" yelled an android

"There's too many!" yelled another android

"Pod laser!" I yelled

Pod 042 and Pod 153 both flew next to each other and fired their laser beams at the incoming machines.

"Keep firing!" yelled Jackass

"Ammo box!" I heard a machine voice behind me

I turned around and Pascal and three other machines dropped ammunition boxes next to me.

"Pascal what are you doing here? It's dangerous go seek safety." I said

"I'm willing to help, don't worry we'll be fine." he replied

I nodded since we could use all the help we can get. Kong started smashing the ground and started walking towards the machines.

"No Kong, stay. If you go right now, you can die. I'll let you know when to go." I said

He nodded and stepped back to his original spot.

"Mortars fire at blank range!" yelled Avery

The mortar squad began firing the mortars at blank range, and the mortars began exploding near us but not directly on us.

"Close combatants get ready!" yelled Jackass

I summoned my sword and other androids fell back with me and drew their weapons with me.

"Firing squad moved into the buildings!" yelled Jackass

The rest of the platoons began to enter the buildings to give us covering fire from there with the other androids who were already stationed there.

"For mankind!" I yelled

"For mankind!" shouted the other androids

I ran towards the machines and summoned my beast lord sword and smashed the ground so hard that five machines flew away from the impact. I swung my sword taking out 3 other machines.

My Pod gave me covering fire as I fought with the machines. One machine swung its arm at me but I dodged it and cut its body in half. Kong smashed a machine and grabbed another and threw it at a whole group of machines.

That's when the ground shook and a goliath biped made

its way towards us. It smashed its giant arms at one android, crushing it and blood splattered everywhere.

"Kong, take out its legs!" I yelled

Kong charged at the goliath, ramming the other machines as he charged at it. I ran behind Kong and when he tackled the goliath to the ground I jumped off Kong's back and stabbed my sword into the goliath's head.

After seeing that I took out the goliath, the rest of the machines started running away back into the Forest Kingdom.

"Man your position!" yelled Jackass

Everyone fell back to their original positions and watched as the machines retreated. Bodies of androids and machines littered the floor.

"Body count?" asked Jackass

Two androids went out and counted the bodies, not a single one of those androids were injured.

"15 dead." said one of the androids, "Not a single wounded."

"Dammit." Avery cursed under her breath, "Gather bullet shells, we might have to use them again."

"Check ammo, restock we'll be facing more." said Jackass

"How's the other platoons holding up?" I asked

"Both platoons were able to hold, the first platoon suffered 8 casualties while the second lost 11." said Nines

"Give me a machine body count as well." said Avery, "Gather every machine so that we could use them."

Everyone began to gather bodies and moved them back to the main camp.

"We need to lower our casualty rate, if this continues we lose." I said

Avery nodded and sighed.

"Proposal, cannot determine when the machines will attack again so be on your guard." said Pod 153

"Agreed." said Pod 042

I nodded and we stood there and watched as the some androids carried bodies while others were on guard.

"Let's die together if we have to." said Avery

"Don't say that." I said

Nines holds onto Avery's hand and Avery sighed.

"Sometimes I wish Creed would just come already." said Avery, "This makes me remember the day when Gally was killed."

I looked down at my shoes.

"I hope he doesn't run away." said Avery

"He won't, I know he won't." I said
