Chapter 8: Bus filled with Losers

Power looked into his seed bag and saw he had 100 rice seeds, 100 corn seeds, 100 wheat seeds, 100 soybean seed and 100 potato seeds. He also had farming tools in his inventory.

For Lazy he received writing utensils and 2 full stack of paper to create maps. He sat down and focused and was map to see the world with a birds eye view and started to draw the map. He could see a 10 mile radius of him. Not able to see monsters or creatures only the land around.

The rest of the group waited while Lazy drew the map. This took an hour to complete. During this time Grimm was picking material with Power as guard. Nitro was guarding lazy, while Swift was climbing trees to keep an eye out for monsters.

"I've seen a couple more of the Bloodsqouitos flying around. No DinoGators, but I have seen some level 10 NutraRabbids running around. Schools not too far, about a forty minute walk. It's about five in the afternoon. Do you guys want to go hunt or should we head to the school first?" Swift asked the group.

"Well I did collect a fuck ton of gator meat so we don't need to hunt for food. So hunting for levels isn't bad, but I do suggest we make a base first" Power injected.

"Ya I definitely need to make more ammunition. I have about 80 shots left"

"I also suggested making a base. I want to make some potions. I think we'll need them if what happened to Lazy happens again."

Lazy picked himself off the ground with Nitro helping him up.

"We should head to our old highschool and set up a makeshift base. If New Orleans was being attacked and it hasn't even been a full day yet. Something tells me we'll have problems at night unless we have shelter" lazy added.

The group agreed and meet up to head to the highschool.

During the way there they ran into 6 more Bloodsqoutos at lv 3 and fought them off without any trouble. No one was able to level up.

After passing many houses cover in vines and leaves the group reached the gas station diagonal to the school.

The gas station only has 6 pumps outside. The entire station made a rhombus shape with the pumps being on the longest side.

The automatic doors were closed with vines and nature growing around it. The 'Open' neon sign in the window was broken in half and one of the windows were broken.

Swift ran into the gas station using his swords to cut the doors down. Looking inside seeing all the shelves barren and checking behind the counter for anything. Only to come up empty. He ran to the back of the store walking past the 'Employee Only' sign and finding 3 dozen gas can.

"Guys there's a lot of gas canisters in here. Looks like whoever put us in the game kinda helped us out"

The rest of the group followed and saw a couple dozen canisters of empty gas cans.

"Lazy think we can get gas out of other busses and use these?" Power asked

"Fuck I don't know. I don't know cars. Ask Swift he's the car man"

Everyone chuckled a little

Nitro butted in "while you guys do that I'm going to look around the school and see if there are any monsters about. Power mind coming with?"

Power nodded and followed suit.

"Welp. Looks like it'll be us three moving all this shit and finding a bus" Grimm said with a slight smile.

The school is big enough to have over 2000 students with a fence enclosing the entire campus. Two parking lots; one in the front with gravel and a couple trees scattered around and the other behind the school without a fence but a wood line. In the back of the school next to the back parking lot was half a dozen trailers with wooden ramps connecting them as a make shift classroom.

Directly in front of the school still inside the fence is a long strip of road with two rows of a dozen buses.

Time felt like it moved slowly as the 3 members moved 3 dozen cans to a bus to siphon gas. Finally having the gas cans moved over. They looked ahead to the two lines of buses. 12 buses in total. They all looked at each other knowing this will take time and started on the first bus.

It took them 4 hours to siphon all the gas cans from all but one bus. The other two go back saying the school was clear, the fence around it definitely helped keep monsters out.

With the time being 9 at night, the party decided to sleep in the bus and take shifts keeping look out. Between the 5 of them 3 could actually fight so shifts was left between them leaving Grimm and Lazy to fully sleep.

(Aren't they just luck!?)

Swift had the first 3 hour watch. Uneventful.

Power has the second 3 hour watch. Uneventful.

Nitro had the final watch. Halfway through he started to hear some noise.

He started to shake Swift awake.

"Swift wake up. I hear…I don't know…a high pitched talking? I can't really tell. I just know there's a couple of them."

Swift was slowly waking up trying to put his armor on without making much noise.

"High pitched talking? Maybe it's another player?" Swift started to shake Power awake.

"Power wake up. We got something."

Power immediately jumped up, having just fallen asleep, started to put his armor on.

Doing this he ended up waking up the other two sleeping members and raised attention to whatever was outside.

The noise they could hear immediately went quite. Whatever was out there wasn't sure where the party was but knew it was something.

"Damnit Power. Keep the noise down" Swift said in a hushed whisper "whatever it was now knows we are here"

"Sorry" Power said in a lower voice with a hint of disappointment.

"Should we start the bus and use the lights to see?" Asked Lazy in a nervous manner

"No. What. Actually let's do that. Lazy you start the bus. As soon as the lights come on Power I want you to be outside the door guarding these two." Swift motioned towards Grimm and Lazy. "Nitro I want you on top the bus ready to fire at will. I'll dash out and hide behind another bus"

Nitro interrupted saying "isn't it a good thing we found the keys in the sun visor?"

"Shut it" Swift said with a little annoyance in his voice.

"Lazy start it up!"

Lazy inserted the key starting the Bus.

Vroom

The engine roared to life. The lights and brights lighting up flashing.

Where the lights shown 7 small green humanoid figures appeared. The center one wearing a light green scarf.

"Goblins!" Swift yelled "Power draw their attention, Nitro open fire, you two give covering fire while I run behind them" Swift said with a mighty command!
