Chapter 3: The Unexpected Friend

The group looked over to the new player walking up the path from the curl-de-sac. They were wearing cloth armor similar to Lazy walking towards the group. The name above him said GrimmsHeart.

"Is that Dain?!" Power yelled.

"Ya it's me assholes. I was going to surprise you all before starting the game and joined the call last second. Then as a soon as you names vanished I opened the game and was pulled in as well." Dain said.

Dain also had short brown hair with a decently length. He also looked out of place. Similarly having normal shorts but a grey cloak.

The group ran over to him hugging him saying how glad they are to see him.

"You barely played any games with us recently we didn't think you'd get this one." Swift said "but we are happy to have you. Although what class did the game give you?"

Dain pulled up his stat page explaining

"It didn't give me one. I was able to pick. I went with the Cursed Light class. Did you guys also pick your jobs yet? I wasn't sure what to pick and was waiting for you all to finally pick mine"

The group looked puzzled and asked what the job was. Grimm, Dain, told them he noticed a tab on the store page showing they can purchase jobs with experience points.

Everyone immediately opened up the store page and were shocked to see it working. It was only filled with jobs they can have but they all assumed it wasn't working since there's no [IRL] system to it.

As they all read the list they all noticed each job was something they needed to look at and pick carefully. Besides each player having 3 skill points to spend on each job required 3 points to purchase. They weren't sure if they should all get a job or spend the points to level up their stats.

After searching through the list Lazy was the first to decide.

"I think I'm going to spend my points to learn new blue prints. Each blueprint is random and requires 1 point to learn but reading through how it works I can spend 10 points to see a list of what I'm capable of and pick or spend 20 points to fuse prints together to get something similar to the two. And I says each point to level up a print reduces the crafting cost and enhances the print. So I think I'll just use these points for random prints."

With that he opened his data pad and rolled for 3 new prints. 3 columns started to spin for a couple seconds before slowing down and stopping.

Basic trap kit- requires a basic crafting pouch. Able to craft a pitfall trap, spike trap, rope trap and fishing trap. Each trap requires 5 wood and time to craft. 10-30 minutes to craft a trap. Higher Intelligence stat can reduce time.

Arcane Battery Pack- requires 5 metal and 2 clear gems. Able to house Electric Arcane Hearts as a power source. Requires level 30 to build.

Arcane engine- requires 100 metal, 50 arcane battery packs, 10 fire elements heart and 10 electric element heart. Requires level 30 to build.

As Lazy was rolling for his new blue prints the rest of the group was asking Grimm about his skills.

"Well I just picked the class seemed right for me. I usually play as a healer and apparently the Cursed Light class can heal but also cast curses. Figured that would be useful. And I was also thinking of taking the botanist job. I'd be able to craft potions for us incase I can't cast more skills" Grimm stated and then also told the group his abilities

Weakened Hex- a hex spell able to weaken a targets damage. Percentage is based off your Mind stat and the targets Mind stat.

Healing light- able to heal in an [AOE] of 30 feet around you for 50-100 HP. This is based off of Mind and Luck stats.

Radiant Aura- single target heal for 75-200 HP. Skill based on Mind and Luck stat.

Darkness Hex- a hex spell able to blind a target up to 20 seconds, minimum 5 seconds. Duration of skill based off targets Mind stat.

With Lazy being the only one to spend his skill points he kept look out of the surround woods while the rest of the group picked the job they wanted.
