Chapter 15: Base to Base

Astap woke Lazy up a couple minutes before the rest of the group got up. She let him know the night was uneventful. Power was next to wake up and tried to make bacon from the meat he had. Nitro immediately sat up by the smell of bacon. Chanting bacon over and over till Power gave him some.

"'Man I'm fucking hungry" he said while scarfing down the food.

"So what I miss?"

Grimm and Swift shook their heads at this whole sitting up from their bed.

Power let him in on the plans and finished making breakfast for the group. The bus was quite what happily eating the food. While eating Lazy glanced over at the group reading their levels. Swift was the highest at level 12, Power and Nitro were at level 11, Grimm was at level 10. He was slightly jealous being so many levels behind.

Swift noticed once he reached level 11 he earned 3 skill points, although he forgot he spent them during his last battle. Power and Nitro both gained 11 skill points while Grimm only gained 10 points. Lazy was the only one not to level up.

Nitro just spent all his points from yesterday into his Dex stat to raise his damage higher.

Power spent his points on two new skills and to raise his mind stat.

Psionic Element: Ice Spear- able to harness your Psionic power turning into ice and launching it at a target. Spear will deal damage based on your Mimd Stat.

Psionic Element: Ice Wall- able to harness your Psionic power turning into ice and able to create a 10x20 ice wall.

Grimm spent all his points on a new skill.

Str 12 Dex 13 Con 15 Int 28 Mnd 35 Lck 16

Bolt of light- able to shoot a bolt of light dealing damage based on your Mind and Intelligence stat.

After the group, besides Lazy, spent their skill points they gathered their stuff up and headed out towards the fort.

Swift was leading the way while riding Tantrum, Power was behind him on the right side while Lazy was on his left. Grimm was in the very middle of the group while Nitro was in the back.

After walking down the road for a couple minutes they started passing cars with door open. Swift took Tantrum and hid in the tree line on the right side of the road, Power and Nitro went to the left side of the road hiding in the trees. Lazy and Grimm decided to be the bait and started close a car doors without any traps. After a few minutes Grimm found a trap and set it off. After setting it off he ran to a car near by shutting the door behind him. Lazy ran away in the directions they came, created a turret on a car and stood on the roof of the same car.

The group was starting to get anxious as they waited for the goblins to show up. Lazy was keeping a lookout and could see something in the distance. He started a party call with everyone to be able to communicate. As the enemy got closer her could see a dozen enemies. 3 Goblin Riders on Baby DinoGators, 7 Goblins following behind with their swords in the air and a single Goblin Berserker behind them towering over them. It was carrying a huge club over a shoulder.

Lazy was nervous seeing this minor horde. His level was barely up to pare for the fight, but he trusted his blueprints. He jumped down into the seat of the turret and open fired on the group.

BBBBBBRRRRRRTTTTTTT

The sound of the gun going off was deafening. The gun fire shredded the goblin riders instantly. This have just a second for the goblins to duck and take cover while the Berserker grabbed a car as a shield. He changed his aim to start shredding the tops of cars breaking cover of the Goblins. Before he realized it Lazy ran out of bullets. As soon as he stopped firing something started to block out the sun. He looked up seeing a car hurling towards him reaching closer and closer. He quickly got out of the turret jumping from the car. As the other car fell from the sky it exploded on impact. The shock wave sent Lazy flying further away.

He flew over one car hitting another car. Half his health was missing. Grimm kicked open a door while the rest of the guys were charging at the enemies.

Grimm rushed over to Lazy healing him as best as he could. Nitro started shooting killing two goblins that stood up seeing what happened. Powered focused his Target aggression to draw the attention of the Goblin Berserker charging towards it. Swift and Tantrum charged viciously at the goblins sending two wind strikes towards the group.

Swift's wind strikes landed cutting a goblin into thirds. Strike landing at the neck and another at the waist. Nitro shot at another goblin ducking between some cars in the shoulder knocking it down. The berserker charged towards power while grabbing a car throwing it at him. He activated his Psionic Ice Wall catching the car in mid air. He launched a Psionic Thrust blowing a hole through an arm. The Berserker was filled with rage screaming at power. It used its strength to grab another car to throw at him. As soon as it lifted the car he used his Psionic Ice Spear hitting the car forcing it to explode above the Berserker killing it.

Mean while.

Nitro is shooting at the goblins suppressing fire. Grimm used his darkness Hex to blind the 5 goblins. Swift didn't miss the chance. Tantrum jumped in the center of the group bitting and clawing while Swift swung his swords wildly. In a flurry of slashes and bites the goblins were torn to pieces.

Lazy picked himself up noticing he jumped from level 5 to level 11. He was extremely happy but also hurt by the battle. Looking over to the group, everyone else was able to level up twice. The group waited as Power used his skill to move the cars clearing a path. Swift let Tantrum eat the Berserker and saw he also leveled up by 4 levels.

Swift looked at the group and smiled. Happy with how things were coming along.

Unaware to the group a Goblin in robes and a hood with a wooden staff and skull on the top watched them closely. Next to it a Hobgoblin walked up behind it.

"These humans are tough Chieftain" the hooded goblin said.

"Yes they are. Next time the trap goes off we won't send out a party. We will wait for them to attack our forte and lay a trap for them there." He swiftly turned and stared walking away "make sure the rest are training and ready. You have my permission to use your magic on them."

The hooded goblin turned and bowed to the Chieftain. "Yes Chieftain. They will be enhanced"
