1 Chapter One - The Cat

Another school day had ended.

(Y/N) was walking down the street, straight to her house. She was keeping her distance from a tall, bulky guy with lots of girls surrounding him. That was Jotaro Kujo, one of the school's most feared delinquents, but also any girl's dream boyfriend.

Any girl's except for (Y/N). She couldn't help but be afraid of the guy walking fifty feet ahead of her. Even though she had known him since they were young, Jotaro wasn't the same person she remembered from middle school. That was the person who could terrify a teacher only by looking at them.

So she stayed away.

The Kujo house was nearby the (L/N) house, so (Y/N) had to walk all the way home staying behind that mountain of man. Seeing all the girls surrounding him, giggling and struggling to hold his arm made her feel sick. How stupid could they be to think he would ever choose one of them. But, they were still trying.

Trying to ignore her classmates' high pitched voices, (Y/N) got out of her bag a pair of earphones with a little recorder. After she put them on and turned on the recorder, songs starting to play, she pulled out a pack of cigarettes. (Y/N) didn't really like smoking, but it helped her calm down her nerves, and those girls were a true pain in the ass.

The girl placed one cigarette in her mouth. While making sure no-one watches her, something moved so fast in front of her, the cigarette lighted up. (Y/N) continued walking like nothing happened.

She was right in front of her house, when suddenly, a stray cat ran to Jotaro, probably trying to get away from a dog or something. The girls around him screamed, but it wasn't like the cat tried to hurt them. Heartless as always, Jotaro kicked the cat, making it leave his sight.

(Y/N) stopped and stretched out a hand to the cat. The little creature noticed her, but it was too afraid to come closer, so the girl took some steps forward. The bulky man noticed (Y/N) as well, so he turned around to see her approaching the cat he'd just hit. His action didn't make the girls around him happy, but he didn't care; they were too annoying anyway.

"It's alright, kitty!" (Y/N) whispered as she gently touched the cat's silky fur.

Enjoying her soft touch, the little one came even closer to the girl with (H/C) hair. (Y/N) immediately noticed where was the cat's wound: it was on it's belly, hard to see, but it might've been deadly. Affected even more by Jotaro's actions, the hatred for him inside her grew even stronger.

'How could he hit such a pure and innocent animal? This cat has done absolutely nothing to him!' she thought, her thin eyebrows twitching.

"Poor you!" she exclaimed, her voice kept calm. "Did the bad man hit you?" (Y/N) asked, scratching the cat's head.

Of course, Jotaro heard her statement clearly, making him quite annoyed. He knew that girl was living in his neighborhood, but he was a bit confused with her not following him like all the other annoying bitches.

Everything around her was so quiet, and with her earphones on, (Y/N) didn't even notice the huge student looking at her from sixty feet away. The only thing she cared about at that moment was helping the cute little animal standing before her. She put her cigarette on the ground, lowering herself down to the cat. While she was concentrating at the cat's wound, a black, slender arm arose from her own, pressing itself on the animal's belly.

Jotaro froze. That girl, right in front of him, was using her Stand to heal some stupid stray cat's wound. Of course she didn't know he had a Stand as well, how could she? With the worst timing, a clingy girl with curly radish hair, hanging onto his arm, cut the silence:

"Jotaro, why are we standing here?" she yelled in her high pitched voice.

"Yeah, we have to get home, you know?" another one approved.

"Oi, it's getting dark, Jotaro!" the third girl moaned.

All the girls around the student started whining laud and annoyingly. That was the moment (Y/N) realized she wasn't alone. Because of her earphones, she didn't get the chance to notice Jotato Kujo, staring at her and the cat. She immediately rose from the ground, only to stay still in front of the guy, her face as red as a tomato. But (Y/N) wasn't frozen of embarrassment, she was too afraid of that guy to even move. One earphone fell out of her ear. That was her chance.

(Y/N) took a deep breath and pulled out the other earphone as well, shoving the two back into her bag, along with the recorder. Without taking another look at Jotaro and his harem, she turned to her left and walked away to her house. After the girl went through the door and closed it, she exhaled all the air out of her lungs. (Y/N's) heart was beating faster than ever before.

"What in the actual hell happened just now?" she asked herself, wiping her sweat off her forehead.

"Sweetheart, are you home yet?" the girl could hear someone call her from the kitchen. She answered simply then went to see her mother, maybe she could only forget what had just happened that day.

"What are you cooking, mom?" (Y/N) asked, taking a deep breath of the food's smell.

"Oh, it's just a little something for the Kujo family!" Mrs. (L/N) said.

That was the moment (Y/N's) mind went blanc. Why the Kujos? Why couldn't her mother cook something for the old woman next door? She didn't say anything, letting her mother continue.

"Holly Kujo, Jotaro's mother, you know him, don't you?" (Y/N) nodded, a drop of sweat falling down her face. "She helped me today with the flowers in the front yard, have you seen them yet?"

(Y/N) froze. She was so concentrated on leaving Jotaro's sight she hadn't noticed the new flowers in the front garden. But right there, she couldn't say she was running away from Holly's son, so she nodded once again. Already having a bad feeling about the conversation, she slowly backed away from her mother.

'Almost there, almost out!' (Y/N) thought to herself, while heading out of the kitchen. She was then stopped by her mother.

"Oi, (Y/N)!" Mrs. (L/N) turned her head away from the food, to face her daughter. "I have to go to work early in the morning tomorrow, so do you mind giving this to Holly before you head to school?" she smiled tiredly.

Surprised, confused and powerless, that's how the girl was feeling after she heard the question she was so afraid of. She had tried so hard to avoid that sentence, yet she couldn't. She sighed in defeat, answered with a quiet "yes", then went to her room.

While taking a hot shower, different thoughts started running through her head. Why would have Jotaro been staring at her while she had been taking care of the cat he had hit? Well, her Stand, Pure Silence, was healing the cat. Could Jotaro be seeing Stands as well? That one thought made her body shiver.

She had had her stand since she was a little kid. First, she thought she was only imagining things, but then she discovered that Pure Silence was something more than an imaginary friend. It was a Stand. Even though (Y/N) didn't get what a Stand really was, she knew she had one and only some people could see it. In a way, she felt spacial, in another way she felt cursed.

Still very confused, (Y/N) got out of the shower, put her pajamas on, then laid down on her futon and fell into a deep sleep.

'Please let me have a good day tomorrow...' she prayed in her head.

*

The next day was the day (Y/N) had wished to never come, yet, here it was. Outside, the sun was shining, making the little particles of dew on the grass glow like the stars at night.

At seven in the morning, (Y/N) woke up with a minor headache. Ignoring it and being keen on doing what her mother had told her to do, as fast as possible, she got dressed up into her school uniform, brushed her hair, took her schoolbag, then went into the kitchen to take the package. There, her mother was nowhere to be seen, so she had probably gone to work already. Mrs. (L/N) was a nurse at the town's hospital, so she could never know when she had to go to work beside her usual schedule. It was hard, but she was somehow able to do it. That's why (Y/N) could never refuse to help her mother.

Sighing, the girl took her lunch box and put it into her bag, then took the present for Mrs. Kujo. It smelled so good!

After walking out of the house, (Y/N) went straight to the Kujo house. Seeing the sliding front door open, she ran and hid behind an old tree. She kept an eye on Jotaro who walked out of his home, along with his mother and two other men she had never seen before. The woman kissed Jotaro's cheek. He turned around and looked suspiciously at the tree (Y/N) was hiding behind.

"Is there anything wrong, Jojo?" his mother asked with her gentle voice, smiling, only to be ignored by her own son. Damn, this guy had some serious problems.

More afraid than ever, the girl turned her back to the tree and held her breath, until she heard a seriously low "yare yare daze" in the distance. She then sighed and followed Jotaro with her eyes. She kept watching the house until the sliding door closed. After she made sure that no-one else was around, (Y/N) tiptoed on the grass, trying not to ruin it. She almost made it to the door, when she didn't see the rock standing right in front of her foot. The girl fell clumsily, dropping the food for Jotaro's mother. Lucky her, Pure Silence was fast enough to catch the package on time.

(Y/N) sighed in relief, getting up and taking the beautifully packed food from her Stand's hand, then knocked on the door.

'I hope no-one else saw that...'

Only if she knew that someone had been watching her from afar the whole time. One moment later, the door slid open. Standing beside the door was a tall, bulky man, who looked just like Jotaro, but older. He didn't look familiar to her at all, so (Y/N) waited for him to say something before her.

The old man finally spoke. "Is there anything I can help you with?" he asked, with a loud, but gentle voice, just like Holly's.

(Y/N) could tell only by listening to his accent that he was from America. Even so, she wasn't the type of person to like small talk, so she went straight to the point.

"I'm sorry to bother you, Mr., my mother told me to give Mrs. Kujo the food she has made for her as thanks for helping her the other day!" she said, looking at the ground, handing him the package.

With a slightly surprised face, the man took it from (Y/N's) hands, then laughed. "There is no bothering!" Then he remembered. "Ah, you have to go to school just like my grandson, right? Then, you go and I'll give this delicious food to my daughter. Is that okay with you?"

(Y/N) nodded, then waved to the man who seemed to be Jotaro's grandfather, as she walked outside their yard. She was so proud of herself that she had domr everything her mother asked her, without even having to deal with the guy she hated so much.

(Y/N) couldn't help but think 'How can people like them, so cheerful and gentle, deal with a delinquent like Jotaro everyday, without going mad?' She giggled afterwards, thinking that they were probably putting a chain around his neck to keep him still.

Such a headache...
