1 Boring Life

"I can't be late!! If I'm late again, Mom will kill me!" A sixteen-year-old boy said as he ran through the streets towards school.

"Hey, Kamio!!" A girl yelled at him from behind.

He stopped and turned around to her. "Sarah?! What is it?" Kamio yelled to her.

She ran up to him. "What's the rush? We still have fifteen minutes until class starts." Sarah said to him.

"It doesn't matter how much time we have! I'm somehow always late!!!" He yelled.

"Hmm, then you better get going!" Sarah told him.

Kamio and Sarah arrived at the school around ten minutes later. "We're here! Five minutes left!" Kamio yelled.

Kamio and Sarah walked to their classroom and sat at their desks. Everyone in the classroom was being loud; the teacher walked into the room and yelled at everyone to be quiet. "Ok, class before we begin I have a big announcement. Next week we will have a field trip." She said.

"But ma'am, where's the trip to?" Sarah asked.

"We will be going to Central Town!"

Kamio walked home with Sarah after school ended. 'Central Town? Lame.' Kamio thought.

"Hey! Won't it be fun going to Central Town?" Sarah asked.

"I don't think so. Won't it be dangerous?" Kamio replied.

"Dangerous? Why would you say that?" Sarah asked him.

"There's a lot of criminals in that area," Kamio explained.

"I see," Sarah said.

They continued to walk silently until they came upon a fork in the road. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow, Kamio!" Sarah said as she walked down the right path.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow," Kamio replied as he walked down the left path.

Kamio walked into his home. "Mom! You home?"

He asked. No response. "Guess she's still at work," Kamio said as he walked upstairs into his room.

And laid on his bed. "That field trip is going to suck!" He said.

"Why Central Town?" He asked aloud.

Kamio slowly drifted into sleep.

Kamio opened his eyes and looked out of the window to see the sun setting. "How long was I asleep?" He said.

He got out of bed and walked out of his room. "Mom, are you home yet?" He asked.

No answer. "Hmm, she's normally home by now." He heard the front door open.

"Mom? That you?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's me. How was your day?" She asked as she walked into the kitchen.

"What do you want for dinner?" She yelled to him.

Kamio walked downstairs into the kitchen. "Not sure." He answered.

"I'm gonna go for a walk." He told her.

"Okay, we'll have an answer when you get back." His mom told him.

"I will," Kamio said as he walked to the front door and went outside.

Kamio walked through the streets. 'I wonder how the field trip is going to go. Should I go or not?' He thought.

"Maybe I should go, it might bring some excitement into my life." He said.

Kamio continued to walk in silence until a woman in a dark blue hoodie walked past him and said, "Better be careful of what you wish for." Kamio stopped in his tracks and turned and watched as the woman walked away.

"What was that about?"

Kamio walked back inside the house after about a ten-minute walk. "Mom! I'm back," He said

"Good. Did you make a decision?" She asked.

"Yeah!" Kamio began as he walked into the kitchen.

"I'll just eat the leftovers from yesterday."

"Okay, that's fine. Anyways, how was your day?" She asked him.

Kamio walked over to the kitchen table and sat down at it. "Boring. Same boring school day as yesterday. Oh yeah, there is a field trip next week," he told her.

"Really? Where to?" She asked.

"Central Town." He answered.

"Central Town? Why would the school want to take you all there?" She asked.

"No idea."

That night Kamio lay in bed staring at the ceiling. 'Why does the school want to take us to Central Town?' Kamio thought.

The next morning Kamio was walking down the streets toward the school when Sarah ran up to him at full speed, "Kamio!!" She yelled as she ran into him, knocking him off balance, and causing him to fall to the ground.

"Watch where you're going, Sarah!!" He yelled at her.

He got up and they walked to school together.

"Are you going on the field trip?" Sarah asked him.

"Maybe, I haven't made a decision yet," Kamio answered.

"I think you should, it'll be fun!" Sarah told him.

"Yeah, fun," he said sarcastically.

The next week Kamio sat on a bench outside of an entrance to a town. "Hey, Kamio!" Sarah said, walking up to him.

"Aren't you glad you came now?" She asked.

"I don't know." He told her.

'This place is so boring!' He thought. 'I was foolish to think I would have fun.'

A young, 14-year-old girl sat on top of a building near a giant tower. She had long silver/gray hair and red eyes. She wore a white, short-sleeved shirt and a white skirt.

"Well, I better get back to Yuuki."
