7. Rescue

"I think Kayden is here," Amyeong said as he entered the room. He looked at Jiwoo who was unconscious in a shield with his arms in terrible condition. Then looked at Eunwoo whose both legs were crushed and dried tears on his face. He was barely conscious but still refused to let go of the shield.

'It's taking much longer for Sucheon's uncle to come... I don't think I can keep up the shield for much longer... It aches so bad... my throat feels hurt from screaming. I feel like I'm barely alive...', thought Eunwoo.

Amyeong continued, "I purposely left a trace at the place I caught the kids from, which also alerts me when someone finds it."

"Then let's get ready." Said the hooded man finally leaving Eunwoo's side. "Should we use the kids just in case? They might come in handy."

Just then Eunwoo fell unconscious making the shield around Jiwoo break. "So he's an awakened one as well?" Asked Amyeong.

Sucheon's uncle Suman Kang entered the room he said, "You've got to be kidding me. I heard you dirtbags kidnapped someone, but why him of all people?! And who is that other boy? Why did you bring him as well? Do you even know... what the hell you've done?!"

Saying that Suman broke a fight and skillfully got the two unconscious boys before the building collapsed.

'They're in much worse shape than I had thought.' Thought Suman.

"What did you do to these kids?", he asked, anger swimming in his eyes. "You guys made names as awakened ones. Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?"

"SHUT UP!", screamed the hooded man as he charged to attack Suman. While the latter dodges every attack while carrying the boys in each arm.

"We have to get rid of him before Kayden comes." Said Amyeong.

His partner replied, "Okay, I've got him figured out now. Let's do this right."

Before they could attack him, Suman sensed a powerful presence behind him. Turning around he was met with a fuming Kayden.

Kayden looked at the twins as if inspecting their injuries.

"Mr. Kayden...?" Jiwoo asked.

"What did I always tell you? The world of awakened ones is dangerous. It's where you could lose your life anytime. And... being my apprentice means greater danger for you. Now even Eunwoo is dragged into this mess even though he knew absolutely nothing." Kayden was furious. Not at Jiwoo or Eunwoo but at the person who had hurt them to such an extent.

"I know... but I didn't say anything."

"What?" asked a confused Kayden.

"I didn't tell them about you or the force control that you taught me. I didn't tell them anything. So there's no need to worry. I'm never going to tell anyone... Even if that means I die. But Eunwoo is hurt pretty badly... He was trying to protect me..."

Kayden who was never that good with words patted the younger's head. "I never worried about such a thing. I was worried that you kids might get hurt. Let's get you both to the hospital soon."

"Take Jiwoo and Eunwoo and stay back." He said to Suman who did what he was told.

Then he turned to Amyeong and his partner. "You two, are you ready to pay the price for calling me out like this?"
