We were still racing from rooftop to rooftop when Nightwing showed up in the bat plane. Orphan barely slowed down and jumped directly onto the the plane pointing to where they needed to go. I used my grappling gun to hook on to the plane as it immediately took off. I was just about to ask where we were going before I saw a massive fire covering an old house.

As we got closer we noticed a growing crowd watching the blaze. At first I thought they were worried about the fire spreading but as we approached I noticed that no matter how long it burned nothing was consumed. The fire never spread it just continued covering the residence. Nightwing had the plane release extinguisher foam but the foam burned away instead. Although the frames never dulled they didn't seem to spread either this definitely wasn't natural.

The fire department eventually showed up suspiciously late as the media had arrived a half hour ago. It was only when they were reporting the story live about the bizarre fire and the bat family being here was their any movement. Even my dad was here long before them and was arguing with dispatch about the issue. I was definitely going look into this myself later as this was a clear case of corruption that we were trying to stop.

Nightwing was contacting the Justice League to send a magic expert look into it as these flames were definitely real but unnatural. While we waiting we weren't just sitting on our hands we tried various methods to extinguish the flames and keep a safe distance. It wasn't long before a few portals appeared the first was Zatanna Zatara followed by Raven then someone completely unexpected Dr Strange. I felt through the Force that he hadn't come with ill intention so for now I decided not to say anything.

I got the call from the Justice League about needing a magic expert regarding an incident in Gotham. They couldn't really describe it something about fire? The closest description I got was flash making a joking comparison to a burning bush I didn't get the movie reference.

When I arrived I knew that I wouldn't be the only magic expert they called but I didn't expect Dr Strange. I had met him a few times over the years when our worlds merged and magic became crazy in the worst way possible. Yet his presence couldn't hold my attention as just seeing the flames the power made me feel insignificant. It wasn't overwhelming as something like an infinity stone it just seemed to touch upon something deeper and fundamental.

I arrived on scene studding this phenomenon to try and determine if this was a threat to earth and if it was how to stop it. I really couldn't make heads or tales of it and I wasn't alone as Zatanna seemed equally stumped and looking to me for answers. She probably thought it had something to do with my universe as she didn't recognize it either. I shook my head and she seemed somewhat disappointed as left us back at square one.

I finally turned to see Raven and was shocked that seemed to understand something about this making believe that it might be demonic. Looking closer I realized that it probably wasn't as she didn't look worried just in awe. Then something clicked and I remembered that she wasn't just a half demon but a demigodess. This had to be something beyond magic or at least something beyond ordinary sorcerers.

The world was up in arms in what is being called the trial of the century. As members of the Justice League were not only Arrested by Shield but being charged with various criminal charges. This sent the world in uproar as half the world knew them as heroes. There were protests around the globe about their fate long before the trial was set to begin. Some wanted them to suffer harshly for their crimes and have their identity revealed to the world while others expressed their desire for them to remain anonymous.

The Justice League remained quiet on the issue but apparently their affiliates were not too happy with their actions. Especially when I caught wind that a certain magical girl visited Julian. Speaking of the mother fucker it would seem that he might be involved in yet another incident. Nothing has been confirmed yet but I suspect that it is him luckily for us this appeared to be a much smaller incident than the shit he is usually involved with.
