chapter 20 Amori VS Victor

I turn to collect my winnings, but oddly enough, Imori and Morau were already at the counter. Those bastards beat me to it. Imori, I understand, but Morau himself had told me not to bet, even though he bets with his friends if I remember correctly.

Morau: "I hope you're not betting on your victory, Amori."

Amori: "I know my chances of winning are slim."

Morau: "Slim, you say? 2% chance of winning."

Amori: "Doesn't matter, I need a strong opponent. Winning is secondary, more experience is better."

Their discussion ended. Five hours passed, and it was Amori's turn to enter the scene.

POV Amori

I know my chances of winning are slim, close to nonexistent, but I want to do it.

Commentator: "On the north side, we have Amori Alucard with no victories. Like his two brothers, will he go flawless or fail? To the south, Victor with a series of six consecutive victories and no defeats."

The crowd applauded our entry.

Referee: "Ready, fight!"

Victor materializes his two shields and uses them to hide from me while approaching. Not knowing which shield he is behind, I move to the right to get around, but he follows me. Even with Gyo, I can't see through the shields, but with the nen fluctuations, I can play with luck to try to discern him. I rush towards the shield where I think he's not to pass behind him, but arriving behind, he's not behind any shield. How is that possible? He's invisible. I retreat to put some distance between us, but the other shield collides with my back, trying to propel me towards Victor. I was about to take support on it, but spikes emerge from the shield, piercing my feet. Before I even realize what's happening, I'm on the ground.

Victor approaches me with his sword ready to slash. I endure the pain and move out of his trajectory, then stand up.

Referee: "4 points for Victor."

"Damn, I'm in trouble. Well, I know some of his abilities, I should normally give up, but just one hit will do. He's behind the shield with the most nen, but he could reduce his nen too. Damn." I think.

I rush towards one of the shields to land a Ko blow, but the shield shatters. "So it's the other one." I turn around and prepare to do the same, but using Ko would leave me defenseless against a counterattack. I didn't have time to think. I would use Ken to hit the shield. Since he's inside, he should feel the impact. Wait, what if he's not there? Haha, let's say he's not.

I take my stance, approach the shield, avoid it, and prepare to strike behind it. Then a sharp pain seizes my hand. He countered with his sword. "I was right, he wasn't in the shield this time," I think. Luck and bad luck at the same time. He punches me in the stomach. Despite my Ken, I feel the pain. He prepares to deliver the final blow.

"I surrender," I say.

Referee: "The winner is Victor."

Victor's blade was 2 centimeters from my neck. He retreats to his hallway, and I do the same, ready for my well-deserved reprimand.

Umori and Imori went to a snowy mountain to train. I gave them suggestions regarding Hatsu, although Morau did too, which could make things interesting. As for me, I've been hunting Hunters for two months. It was time for me to create my unique ability. It's now been 11 months since I've been in this world and 8 months since I've been using nen. I already had an idea in mind for two of my abilities.

thank you for these comments power stone and for reading my fiction I test writing without translation but I had to give up I am a 3/10 in English I barely have the level of a 4 year old child all that to say thank you again for following my story but I can't do it I'm thinking of doing the fight or dialogue scenes which become weird at certain times
