Chapter 17 "Tournament arc, New functions"
After two days of cultivating, Gu Shang felt as if he was born anew, he was 4/6 through the first level of root nurturing.
'Damn, maybe I should also enter closed-door cultivation?'
Entering closed-door cultivation for a month would probably make him rise to the fifth level of root nurturing. This thought made him think that maybe doing the same as a certain Mc would be the best to do.
But then he remembered that his system wasn't fit for that, although his system didn't need him to go out and fight, it also didn't guarantee any good things.
Even though he got the Sacred Perfection Body Tempering and Arcane Heart from the system, he also got lingerie, a golden staff and a crystal necklace that is probably useless.
The golden staff is pretty good, it's not comparable to later artifacts. It would be useful for him until he got to the foundation building realm, after that, basically anyone could break it with their bare hands.
Meanwhile, he got the reinvigorating technique and World Creating Lotus Art, in the sect, this made him think that he shouldn't just diligently cultivate, but he also needed to go for the heaven's opportunities.
After thinking for a while, Gu Shang got up and went out of his house. He decided to go into the closed-door cultivation, even though he would need to go for opportunities, he could still rely on the things he had for now.
After a ten-minute walk, Gu Shang arrived at the Main Temple, to go into closed-door cultivation he first had to get a permission from Elder Feng, she was the person who was responsible for managing things like the distribution of resources and things like that.
When he entered the temple, he could see that it was strangely empty, normally there would be at least over two hundred disciples in the temple, but today, there wasn't even ten.
Elder Feng was still here, she was currently writing something on a scroll.
'Is a tournament arc going on or something?'
"Good morning Elder Feng!"
Elder Feng looked at Gu Shang with a hint of surprise in her eyes.
"Good morning disciple Shang, what is your purpose for being here?"
"I'm here to ask for permission to enter closed-door cultivation."
Elder Feng then walked away from her desk and searched for something among some papers on a shelf. After seemingly finding what she was looking for, she went back to her desk and sat back down, she then gave the papers she took out to Gu Shang.
"Sign these papers and you will be good to go."
'Huh?'
'That's it, just some papers?'
"Sure, where do I sign?"
"Here, here and here."
After signing the paper, Elder Feng took it and put into some folder.
'Didn't even know they had these here.'
"Okay, now that that's done, you can go into closed door cultivation."
'Nah, where is everyone?'
"Em, Elder Feng could you tell me where is everyone?"
"You don't know?"
"No."
"Today starts the Lotus Contest, wait, I forgot that you were in the sect for only 7 years, and this tournament is held every ten years.
There's a section for every cultivation realm, every winner of a section is rewarded with a position to enter the secret realm."
'So it is a tournament arc, wonder if Yao Xiu is participating.'
"The sect has its own secret realm?"

'So it's useless for me to participate.'

Gu Shang left the Main Temple and went home, while on his way, Gu Shang could see a couple of disciples being taken away on by the medical staff, they were probably from the tournament.
After getting to his house, Gu Shang first got into the perfect rhythm of the body and tempered his body for a couple of hours, he was still wondering why the technique wouldn't work sometimes.
Gu Shang started cultivating, he felt shivers run down his spine as the cultivation speed increased, for some reason, Gu Shang thought for a second that the speed increased from what it was before, but he couldn't really give a shit about it now.
A couple of days later Gu Shang stopped cultivating, it was time to do a new simulation.
[Simulation starts...]
Gu Shang was transported to a place filled with beautiful blooming flowers, trees full of fruit and bushes with both of those.
Among the flowers and bushes laid a blonde woman, the woman had big breasts the size of her head and a big ass, she was basically naked as all she wore was some leaf bikini. The woman was holding a small baby in her arms.
Gu Shang didn't show any interest in the baby or what gender it was, his eyes were focused on the woman's body, he was getting ideas of putting another child inside her.
But before he could properly appreciate her body, the scene changed, it was the same garden. The baby was sleeping inside some kind of baby bed made from flowers, moss and other things of the kind.
The woman was also sleeping, she was sleeping on her stomach. Gu Shang had a perfect view of her big ass.
Gu Shang was thinking about jacking off as he didn't have any kind of sexual relief in a few days.
Blink!
A glowing light bulb appeared above his head.
Gu Shang went up to her, and grabbed her ass, to his surprise, he could actually squeeze it.
"Em, system, why can I actually...do things to her?"
[The system has thought about host's earlier comment about the simulation being boring, so the system added a couple new functions.]
A stream of information was poured into Gu Shang's mind, he couldn't help, but make a smile as if he won a lottery upon digesting the information.
