6 Ch.6 New Foundations

(Isaac pov)
As I prepared for my first flight I had forwarded a notice to my assistants that the clinic would be closed for the month and sent a month's worth of their pay to their accounts.
Boarding my craft I activated all systems and checked to make sure no malfunctions were occurring. "Computer...status report."
[Engines....100%]
[Hyperdrive...100% no malfunctions detected]
[Gravity stability... 100%]
[Ready for launching sequence..]
With all preparations complete I brought her into the air and activated the stealth systems.
Soon she began to escape the earth's atmosphere due to the hull beginning to heat up. Thanks to the artificial gravity the turbulence was minimal.
[Entering zero gravity...gravity stabilizing..]
As the turbulence subsided I was met with the every encompassing void.
Unfortunately the moment was ruined by the thumb sore that was the space station in the moon's orbit.
As far as Isaac remembers humanity has only colonized the moon and Mars that then suffered uprisings. The colony on Mars was now an independent state. There was an exploration to Jupiter but they lost contact with the vessel years ago.
'All right, the moment of truth.' "computer triangulate a course for Jupiter." I command the virtual intelligence.(I took my inspiration from mass effect for this bit)
[Calculating....initializing...]
[Course achieved....beginning jump]
In a burst of speed the ship was gone...(think of the warp effect in star trek 2009)

The next instant the ship decelerated in Jupiter's orbit. Going back to the cockpit Isaac was seen puking in a bag.
"Uuuh." "Note to self.. intall better motion dampeners." Isaac spoke to himself while continuing to puke.
After a few more minutes of vomiting he checked his ships systems. All were In the green to his relief. The scanners could detect a couple orbital stations near some of Jupiter's moon's but not close enough to notice his activities. Having the V.I map their journey he ordered it to make another jump to Saturn. This process continued until he made it to the asteroid belt at the edge of the solar system.
Before he attempted a longer jump out towards the beyond he gathered enormous amounts of tritium from the asteroids nearby to stock up on fuel and then exerted the ships scanner to its limit resulting in the detection of three other solar systems neighboring sol.
Calculating a jump to the nearest star system it took less than a minute to reach it. Isaac wasnt that surprised considering the fact the hyperdrives maximum range was 101 light-years.(I'm just spit balling here..i dont know if the game is going by 101 ly per hour or days but im going with per hour.)
Once the ship came out of hyperspace there were a few circuits that blew during transit. After the repairs were complete the ship's scanners picked up only on planets in the habitable zone with both itself and its moon being able to sustain life. The rest were one gas gaint two times the mass of Jupiter and one planet so close to the sun they're slowly being ripped apart by its gravitational pull. By the computers calculations the planets moon was more suitable for colonization.
The planet itself was ridden with deserts with little to no sources of water. However he would send probes and research drones to study its enviorment.
The moon however was an ocean world with only 10% being land mass.
He landed the ship on the largest island he could find. The moment his vessel touched down he scanned the oxygen and co2 levels outside and it was similar to earth to a degree that wasn't harmful to humans. So he began construction of his headquarters...
(2 weeks later~)
After weeks of construction it was complete. The headquarters was a dome shaped structure above the surface of the ocean with hydro eletric engines around the foundation to provide power for the facility.(picture a miniature dome colony on titan from destiny 2.) Measuring to just under 500 feet or 150 meters.
Of course he didn't do all the work...he built drones to assist in its construction. What was once just a few dozen drones aiding him now measured in the hundreds doing their best to complete the final touches to the HQ.
In order to gather the necessary resources he equiped many drones with multi tools to scour the planet and mine the mineral found underwater and neighboring islands but to also be careful to not disturb the wildlife. The frame to the dome was easy...the heavy duty glass shielding was the longest endeavor.
The inside was just one expansive laboratory with various balconies overlooking the ocean...
"Hmmm. What should I build next..?" Looking toward the horizon.
