Some had taken pride in the fact that it was still an Asgardian at the helm of such a power, some looked at it as an enemy, but it didn't matter with its existence Asgard wasn't the strongest.
And it was reminded of this fact more than once throughout the years.

The lastest of such reminders happened years ago as Thor and Loki had stepped foot on Midgard.
It was a known fact that Midgard had stayed protected through the years by Cul, All the people in the nine realms who had power had made sure to know what Cul was up to at all times, so they knew Midgard was a planet under Cul's protection.
Of course, they only knew this because Cul wanted them to know, in the information present in the nine realms about Cul was what he allowed to be spread or wanted to be spread, anything Cul didn't want to be known wouldn't be known to them.
Thor and Loki against the warnings of Odin had used the Bifrost to travel to Midgard, Thor felt that Asgard was the most powerful force in the universe and it people shouldn't have to heed the words of others and Loki who was supposed to be smarter than Cul had followed his brother in his adventure.
Their time on Midgard was to their liking as they spent days there drinking and spreading tales about Asgard that would lead to the development of a new religion.
But their stay on Midgard was not welcomed by all.
Some of the human servants of Cul had long since noticed their arrival and were about to forcefully drive them off the planet when they were stopped by Roman the leader of all human followers of Cul.
As they received their instructions the Asgardians were left alone as they enjoyed themselves until they left.
Of course, both Cul and Odin had already known about Thor and Loki's arrival on Midgard, but they both took no action for different reasons.
Odin took no action because he knew if he went after Thor and Loki by going to Midgard it would most likely alarm his brother who would appear before them immediately, and once that happened he didn't see the situation going well.
But Cul on the other hand saw Thor and Loki and chose not to take action himself, as he passed it on to one of his many subordinates, even if Odin had come in person Cul about would have passed on the mission to deal with them to one of his stronger servants, as Cul does not see Odin as a threat in any capacity.
So Cul's subordinate who turned out to be a devil from the underworld, who had become strong enough to gain entrance to the serpent realm, had formed a plan and things worked out.
(Scene change)
Currently in Asgard Odin was sitting on his throne, and if his expression was anything to go by he was not very happy.
" All-Father, they have returned." a voice sounded.
" Have there been any movements from Cul?" Asked Odin.
" I am still unable to see him my king." the voice answered.
Odin said nothing, he looked as if he expected this answer.
It wasn't long after that his two sons entered the throne room happily, and the more he watched them the angrier he became.
They clearly didn't care of the consequences their action might have caused if Cul had found out they were on Midgard after he had that no god was to walk Midgard again.
" Father, we have returned safely it seems the warnings you spoke of were for nothing, clearly they are afraid to attack us." said Thor
The smile on his face only served to make Odin even angrier.
" It would seem the princes of Asgard can't compare to the princes of the Serpent realm, the difference really is like night and day." a voice spoke.
The three Asgardians in the room were already on guard looking for the enemy, as Odin himself found he couldn't sense the intruder.
" Show yourself." said Odin.
As he said that a black spot appears in the room growing in size until it forms a man with twelve wings on his back dressed in an all-black battle armor with a sword on his waist.
"It seems that Asgard now thinks it's strong enough to ignore my master." The intruder said.
"Devil, you are in Asgard, and before the All-Father show some respect and kneel." Thor says
"As I said like night and day, Your son doesn't have the power to speak like that, or should I take his words a the words of Asgard and report them to my master?" he asked.
"No those are but the words of a foolish child, he does not have a say here." Odin spoke.
"Father, I....."
"BOY SHUT YOUR MOUTH THIS INSTANCE, YOU'VE ALREADY CAUSED ENOUGH PROBLEMS!!" Odin shouted
"What is it your master wants?" asked Odin
"It's simple,..."
