2 Chapter 2: Is creating new skills that easy nowadays?

After celebrating, first Ao Lin show Oscar how to cultivate before telling him that in two weeks they were going to hunt his first spirit ring.

Speaking of which that was actually how Ao Lin win their income : by hunting spirit ring for other spirit masters of course sometimes she went to the arena, but because it wasn't really near she tend to avoid to do that most of the time. When Oscar asked Why she never wanted to live in city, she explained to him that because the mayor wanted to force her to become his second she had to flee and live in a village because she refused.

Her being a Spirit Elder and the other being a Spirit Ancestor while other spirit masters with him, there was no way she could win so she just escape to a slightly desolate village named Gu village.

And by 'coincidence' the City and mayor in question was actually the mayor of Notting City where the plot start. But because of that Oscar's mother wanted to school him herself until he's twelve years old. Thinking about it, Oscar figured that in Canon that reason was probably why Oscar and Tang San never saw each other before Tang San went to Shrek Academy. Obviously Oscar did get home schooled until he was 12.

The corner of his eyes twitch just thinking about living in a village for 12 years and he just couldn't accept it. So he refused categorically his mother suggestion and insisted into going to Notting College. Finally after some discussion his mother accepted unwillingly because the mayor didn't know about him at all and he wanted to make friends.

Finishing the discussion Oscar directly went out to the forest next to their house to get his business done.

That place was actually were Oscar started to practice his earth martial arts since arriving in this world. As mention before Oscar from earth not only had a photographic memory but was also an Otaku and a fan of Shonen Neketsu. And his favorite Mangas were all with some martial arts in it because it was just cool. And because of that he started to learn many martial arts.

But obviously while he had a photographic memory it didn't mean that his muscle had it to, so even if he knew many martial arts, he was actually really proficient in only 3 : Wing Chun, Jeet Kune do and Jiu-jitsu (AN/:Not to be confused with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu) and even then he wasn't a master and couldn't say that he had the level to participate to competitions at all.

Thinking about it made him a little depressed, until he called his system.

'System, can you explain me your functions?'

The Accelerated function which can accelerate the proficiency of a skill from {1/100} to {100/100} at will. The Upgrade function can unable the host to Upgrade a skill to a higher level by fusioning 2 to 3 skills or a skill and the options given by the system. You can only upgrade 5 skills at the same time and cannot upgrade another skill if one of the five slots are unavailable.]

Hearing what the system said Oscar, was exastic! What was the problem that plague Oscar since coming to this world? That Oscar didn't have the means to attack or defend himself! What was the most difficult thing to do in the Douluo world? Creating his own self-created spirit skill, which was why peoples value so much the choice of their spirit rings.

It's not like in ATG when you notice that you weren't that quick so you casually create a movement technique then you see someone had a cool move so you take inspiration on it to create your 30th sword skill.

While it was true that most spirit master tend to just focus on accumulating spirit rings without thinking about anything else, but it wasn't that true. Up to a certain level Spirit master discovered their skills are just too few to cope with most situations which is inconsistent with their power.

That is why they start to search for more spirit skill, but they will discover that creating spirit skill is too hard and only true genius can create one self-created spirit skill. Yes, that's right ONE and no more that is how difficult it is to create a self-created spirit skill. When you see that even the like of the Tang Clan has just two to Spirit skills you can start to understand how a self-created spirit skill is valuable and how abnormal is Tang San By popping one 'self-created' spirit skill after another but specially why soul bones were so sought after.

Oscar suspected that the reason why it is so difficult to create a spirit skill is because of side effects from the laws impose on the Douluo world from the gods when they change the rule of cultivation after the war against the spirit beasts. Otherwise I really can't see why a stupid person like Scum Che can create skills casually, but Oscar, Bibi Dong and the Master who are clearly more intelligent and diligent than him struggles in doing it.

But now for Oscar creating a new skill is not a problem anymore!

At first seeing all those skills, Oscar thought he was some of those OP MC who didn't know they were OP, but when he took a better look at his skills he saw that except from Programming, Drawing, Cooking and Basic Warm-up Exercises, everything else wasn't worth mentioning when it come to be proficient in it. It was really shameful when knowing that none of them were really useful in Douluo World except for maybe Cooking!

'No, I can't have that kind of Status! System raise the proficiency of all my Martial arts Skill to 100!'

Immediately after some new informations enter to Oscar's head, including every move and secret technics of those martial, how to properly throw those move to the millimeter. Excited, Oscar immediately tried some Wing Chun and Tai Chi moves but while exercising, he noticed a strange thing. While he could now do everything perfectly, his body could not.

More precisely while his brain knew how to move, his body did not, and didn't possess some kind of photographic memory for his muscles which means that every time Oscar did a move he had to think, watch and monitor every steps so the movement could be perfect, but in doing so not only he was much slower, but it was definitely impossible to fight like that. Well his Wing Chun had less problems on that level because of him practicing every day which already produced muscle memories of those movesets.

Fortunately there was an answer for all those problems : training! His System already half his work, so if he was too lazy to do the rest he really didn't deserve the system at all.

After raising the proficiency of all his skill to 100 he start to pour his attention on the Upgrade feature. There was only 5 slots and he didn't know how long it would for a skill to upgrade so he had to choose carefully.

"Mmh, well first there's definitely a slot permanently booked for my cultivation technique, so let's do this. System Upgrades 'Basic method of spirit power cultivation' by adding speed and compression."

Oscar then saw a progression bar replacing one of the 5 slot and after 10 minutes in waiting it was still at 0%. Oscar then understood that it definitely wasn't simple to upgrade a skill specially a cultivation technique.

"well let's try a much simpler skill this time. System Upgrade {Wing Chun + Spirit power}"

After confirming Oscar saw a new progression bar appearing. Then he start To fill the other slots.

After confirming everything Oscar returned to sleep looking forward to tomorrow.
