Chapter 2

Returning to the outside of his ship, Tokito continued to practice. He wanted to try and improve as fast as he possibly could since he was not yet sure what his next step should be. This was a quite complicated world overall and deciding his next step was complicated.

After a while, Tokito finally came to a decision.

"I will just ask Maya to help decide." Tokito decided easily.

Of the three current 'waifus' he had on hand two of them had experience in leading and vision regarding politics and whatnot, the two being Terumi Mei and Maya Yotsuba. Both are experienced leaders of relatively quite dark and powerful forces able to work in all sorts of business, but, between them, the one who was more qualified to deal with this situation would have to be Maya.

Maya was a woman who was able to do the hard and heartless choices that can and would decidedly help progress her family, she was someone terrifying and capable to an absurd degree, being called a monster across the globe. With her insights, and after knowing the current situation and state of this world, she would certainly be the one most suited to help decide the path moving forward.

After another hour here Tokito finally felt hungry and decided he had to eat. Seeing as there was a forest of sorts around this place, even if the trees were quite wrong, he could only shrug and go on to see if he could find something to eat.

However, after a good hour of searching and not finding anything whatsoever he could eat, or felt he could eat, Tokito started feeling frustrated so he did a relatively stupid thing.

Checking on the Catalog, he bought two new things.

You camp. You have a knack for living in the wilderness, with a natural feel for how to identify and make use of edible food, potable water, suitable shelter, animal tracks, etc. You know how to ride a mundane horse. In worlds that don't use horses, you can quickly adapt your riding methods to whatever appropriate beasts are available.

Template Staking II (Chiyo, Toriko)

Cost: 40 points

Chiyo, one of the top 5 greatest cooks in the world of Toriko, she is legendary due to her swift but extremely delicate cooking skills. Mastering food honor, she is able to contain several tons of weight in her small body that can be turned into energy as needed as well as have extremely advanced control over her own body and actions. Her moves are so swift and precise that she can peel off the skin and flesh of a person's arm and the opponent wouldn't even notice it until it is too late. Her strength and adaptability are also outstanding and cannot be underestimated as she was able to fight normally even in an area with several times gravity and with less than 20% oxygen. As a template Stacking II, her skills are reduced to their equivalent for Tier 5, but can be trained to its original Tier 7, and knowledge on how to get there is added.

With this, Tokito figured, he could get to find SOMETHING to eat at the absolute least, as well as have a decent meal. Sure, it cost him another 25 points, but he felt right now that it was worth the price if it meant he could get a good meal.

And, not five minutes after buying those two perks, Tokito found edible berries and some other wild herbs as well as a fish in the ocean near the coast. Moving to the ship's kitchen he began preparing the ingredients, they were a weird mix of things, some he honestly couldn't properly recognize, but he felt like he was preparing them correctly as he prepared the ingredients with the sword in his hands using precise cuts where he felt would be appropriate. Soon, a big soup of sorts was made from the ingredients at hand.

Taking a whiff Tokito could feel that the smell was wonderful, much better than he expected seeing as he wasn't 100% sure of what he was doing there all the way, but the cooking was done, and was now time to eat.

He was about to start eating when he stopped, thought for a moment, and moved the plates and everything along towards the prison.

Inside he could see the sullen Galett sitting on the ground, a single look and he could tell she was rather hungry.

"What you want?" Galette asked as she felt the smell of the food and sneered. "Did you come over just to eat in front of me as I hunger?"

"Not really." Tokito said before preparing a dish and serving it to her. "Starving you is not on the plans. So eat up, I did it myself."

"Humph, and what are your plans for me exactly?"

"Honestly? I have no real clue right now. I am waiting for the others to arrive to decide but, until then, you will be treated well. Now eat up, it is not poisoned or anything." Tokito said as he started to eat.

Thanks to Chiyo's template, his appreciation for food increased and his manners while eating were improved considerably. It was quite an elegant display, contrasted especially by the one in front of him as Galette ate the food with a hunger she rarely ever felt and the taste was way above most meals she ever ate.

By the time the meal ended, Tokito looked at Galette for a moment before standing back up and leaving.

Galette was about to curl on herself to sleep, but was surprised when the sound of Tokito's steps approached and she was given a few books.

"They aren't much, but it is still better than doing nothing." Tokito said. These were a few books that he bought from the catalog. The Catalog had a bit of everything and he could buy several dozens of them for a single point, so he bought them seeing as having some form of a library would not go amiss seeing as the ship lacked such facilities besides the captain's chambers, but the books there were all about things related to the Caribbean, very much unsuitable to let others read.

As he expected Galette didn't say any words of appreciation, but it was mostly fine regardless as Tokito moved out of the inside of the ship and stepped outside just in time to see people in the distance.

He looked apprehensive as said people approached. They had skins of all colors and looked to have fish-like aspects to them.

At a glance, they were not human, but Tokito wasn't too surprised by them. This was Fishman Island, it was unrealistic to stay here for days and not meet a single Fishman.

"What you want?" Tokito questioned, not sure what these fishman wanted.

Not paying much attention to Tokito, one of them pointed at the ship and said.

"See? I told you I saw a ship crashing here!" One of the fishman said to another beside him.

"I heard it, and I told you not to yell." The second one said before smacking the one yelling with the back of his hand, sending the fishman to the ground.

Looking at this fishman who just punched his 'ally' Tokito felt a brief recollection regarding him. He was an anglerfish fish-man that had faced Zoro and lost near instantly.

Tokito simply watched as the said fishman approached and, after reaching a certain distance, smirked and whistled.

"Boy, you are lucky it is me dealing with you and not the officers of the crew. I at least will give you the decency of killing you your own kind." The fishman said and, from a short distance away, around 10 humans approached.

They all were somewhat thin with ragged clothing and bad quality weapons in hand, but their most distinctive feature would have to be their collars.

Slaves. They were all slaves.

"What do you think of my collection? These are the stronger ones I got a while back and didn't feel like selling to those slavers. If you are lucky, you will become one of them!" The anglerfish fishman said as he pointed at Tokito. "Go on, but keep him alive if possible."

"Yes, lord Nuru." The ten slaves said, a tone of defeat in their voices as they all advanced towards Tokito.

Frowning slightly, Tokito did not even pull his sword. At a glance he could tell that these slaves were nothing too special and soon he was moving along.

His movements were not that of a sword fighter, but the martial arts developed by Syura instead that incorporate the best aspects of several schools of combat from his world. Tokito used this chance to hone this aspect of his, avoiding the attacks of these slaves's swords and hitting them at critical locations over and over again.

Nuru, on the back, began to feel a bit troubled as he could tell that he may not be able to win as easily, so as soon as Tokito turned to face him as well he used his trump card, the lantern on his head flashing blindly and making Tokito temporarily close his eyes as Nuru dashed away while using, weirdly enough, soru. Not only that, before Tokito could fully recover his vision, the fishman took out a detonator from his pocket and pressed the button, making all the slave collars explode and engulf Tokito in the flames of the explosion.

That surprised Tokito immensely and he had to take some of the explosion damage, harming him somewhat even if the explosives were not particularly strong.

By the time Tokito got out of the smoke and was able to look around properly, it was too late and Nuru had fully escaped.

Frowning at this strange ocurence Tokito noted that things may not be quite like the story he knew off. As such he looked around until he found what he was looking for. The first fishman, the one who was smacked by Nuru, had returned to his senses and was now trying to escape.

Moving fast Tokito appeared before the fishman and spoke up.

"How about we have a small talk?"

"GULP, Can I say 'no'?"The fishman asked, fear in his tone.

"What do you think?" Tokito said with a blanc expression.

It was another hour before Tokito finally fully understood what he could about the current Fishman Island situation.

In simple words, CANON was fucked and he was in a particularly nasty hellhole.

Tokito could only imagine that, by making Fishman Island a Tier 8 location, its difficulty would no longer be similar to that of the islands of Paradise. While nowhere as dangerous as an island where an emperor is located, this place was still quite terrifying.

First and foremost, Howdy has been a lot more successful and cruel this time around. In this world, it wasn't Queen Otohime that was shot, but King Neptune. The death of the king was enough to send the whole nation into a chaos worse than when Otohime died in CANON, not only that Howdy then did the one thing no one would have expected him to do.

He kidnapped mermaids and fishman who supported Otohime, and sold them to slavers.

When this was revealed, the three princes tried to stop him, but by then Howdy had obtained too much money and used said money to equip himself with all sorts of dangerous weapons as well as bought several strong slaves he used to fight the princes. In the end, two of the three princes died and only the eldest managed to escape with serious injuries thanks to the army's help. After that Howdy would continue his practices, attacking and kidnapping any human who came to Fishman Island and selling off his population to get more resources for his grand ambition of one day attacking the surface.

The army and the Royal Family were still there, but by then they couldn't defeat Howdy and Jimbe, despite being much stronger than Howdy and his group, feared fighting them and causing bloodshed from the reprisal of the New Fishman Pirates against the civilians. In truth, he could easily enough ask for the help of the Whitebeard Pirates, but he did not want to make the civilians see humans coming over to defeat the 'new heroes' of the Fishman race.

In Tokito's eyes, Jimbe was being stupid. Jimbe felt like Oden, searching for a perfect ending for fear of the problems that may happen, ignoring that the more he waits for the perfect answer the less chance he has of actually fixing the problem.

Not that any of this matters to Tokito. What matters is finding someone able to coat his ship and navigate it out of this island and into the sea above. He has no stakes in this fight, and no need to get mixed with it.

Thinking for a bit Tokito decided that he could not just hope for things to work out. He was not fully sure how strong he is compared with others in this world and, most importantly, he has no way of dealing with large numbers, which is an issue seeing as Hody has tens of thousands of subordinates who either hate humans, or slaves who are sent out to hunt more humans. And that is not to mention the several giant monsters that he currently had limited ways to deal with.

If it is one on one, Tokito won't fear anyone that isn't at least equal to a pirate in his hundreds of millions of bounty, Hody personally shouldn't be any form of threat, but his numbers are. Tokito has no current way to fight large numbers of enemies and could perhaps be overwhelmed since his current specialties are fighting enemies one-on-one and running away.

Thinking for a bit he decides he might as well invest. He wants a power suitable for dealing with a large number of enemies, as well as haki training since this is a world where Haki is just that important. He could have simply eaten the fruit he bought, but Mist is not overly useful in combating multiple enemies right away like Magma or Fire could have been. Instead, Mist tends more toward assassination and perhaps more after he practices it further, as such eating this fruit wouldn't be the best solution for now, especially if he doesn't know Armament Haki which is just that essential for the strong.

After a round of thought, he decided what his last buy would be for now.

Template Staking II (Zebra, Toriko)

Cost: 40 points

Zebra, one of the four heavenly kings. He is amongst the strongest beings in his world, hunting giant beasts easily and in large amounts. Having eaten the original full course of Acacia, his power has skyrocketed and his position as being Tier 9 is well deserved. Like how Toriko has an extreme sense of smell, or Coco has an extreme sense of vision, Zebra has an extremely excellent sense of hearing. Not only that, his main form of fighting is using his voice while also having mastered several things over his travels including the art of Food Honor, the martial arts Enbu, as well as having inside him an Appetite Demon (please note that the use of the demon only starts becoming possible after reaching Tier 7 and to be able to integrate it you must buy Acacia Full Course from the system). As a template Stacking II, his skills are reduced to their equivalent for Tier 5, but can be trained to its original Tier 9 and knowledge on how to get there is added.

Template Staking II (Gol D. Roger, One Piece)

Cost: 40 points

The king of pirates, the one who obtained all this world has to offer, these are just some of the titles of the man and legend, Gol D. Roger. Being able to reach this sort of fame, the power to smash islands with only a sword in hand, it can be seen how strong Roger was. He was the true greatest swordsman of his age, someone who was favored by destiny itself and was born with one of the rarest abilities in the world. The ability to hear the voice of all things as well as having the strongest and most advanced Conqueror's Haki in the entire age and the second greatest armament Haki, only losing to the Marine Hero Garp. As a template Stacking II, his skills are reduced to their equivalent for Tier 5, but can be trained to its original Tier 8, and knowledge on how to get there is added.

Obtaining both templates Tokito decided he already had enough on his plate, completely forgetting the fruit he still had he first looked at his waist as he felt a difference in weight in that area. Frowning slightly he looked down and saw something rather unexpected.

Right there, on his belt, was his original nichirin blade, as well as another one. Namely, there was a sword that Tokito realized what it was almost instantly and froze upon the realization.

One of the 12 Supreme Grade Swords, the sword wielded by none other than Gol D Roger, Ace.

"Well, having that around won't make things hard at all." Tokito said mockingly as he could already see how many people would come after him based exclusively on that sword alone. And right at the top of the list being a certain number one swordsman as well as a disabled red-haired idiot.

Sighing at himself, Tokito went into the ship and guarded that sword, not wanting to have it around for now, and instead, after doing what he must, decided to see if he could manage to use them.

See how strong a Tier 5 Roger is in terms of Haki.

The answer? Quite strong, actually.

A day later, Nuru was on the floor bleeding heavily as a trident pierced his belly.

"Pathetic, running away from a mere human, you don't deserve to be a higher being like us Fishman." Hody said, his voice cold as he ripped the trident from the prone form of Nuru who died just like that.

He originally came back to the base to warn the others, but Hody ignored the news about a strong intruder entirely to instead focus on how Nuru ran away from a human. That was a sin in his mind, something unforgivable, and thus he killed him then and there without hesitation after torturing him a bit for his dishonor.

On the side, a Japanese wobbegong fish-man turned to Hody and spoke.

"Captain Hody, should we send someone to find this human?"

"Leave it be for today, Zeo. I have no interest in this human right now, instead tell me how is the progress of your study about the drugs?" Hody questions his officer, Zeo.

"It is advancing smoothly, we should have the first few batches in a few weeks at most." Zeo answers and Hody smirks.

"And the training of the tropes?" Hody questions.

"It is advancing relatively well. We had the stronger slaves pass on their knowledge of swordsmanship and be used to train our soldiers in combat. We also have used the information obtained from the fishman karate dojo to start teaching our brethren the best fighting style on this planet." Zeo said confidently

"Good, keep doing the good work." Hody says, glad about the results and how soon he would have the largest army and could have his chance to strike at the human countries. "Also, I have decided that we will be staging a new fight with the Royal Palace in two days so be prepared to fight as well. We must eliminate the weak and dissidents once and for all to realize our goals of unifying our race in our mutual hatred to all those inferior beings."

"Very well, captain." Zeo said in a direct and simple tone as he bowed and left.

As for Hody, he takes a glass of wine served to him by a human force to dress in rags and smiles as he sees the girl serving him. She came over hoping to 'save' the fishman and saying that she bears the mark of the sun pirates, but put a gun in the head of some random kids and threaten her and she accepts the collar just like any two-bit piece of garbage human that crosses the Fishman lands.

Normally Hody wouldn't have any human in his presence, considers the mere ideal infuriating as being around humans made him physically ill, but this one was special since it was due to having decided to take her to her village that the great hero, Fisher Tiger, died. Seeing her suffer humiliation and torment was cathartic at the absolute least, in Hody's opinion, especially since he knew that she held such a lofty position as one of the promising youngsters of the Revolutionary Army. A position he intended to exploit to better understand the human nations and how to best punish them for the sin of being born wrong.

Yes, having someone like agent Koala of the main revolutionary army at his beck and call sure was interesting.
