Let the Race Begin!

The entire school had practically been canceled and an assembly was about to take place. It had to be noted that Zhao Lin attended his city's most prestigious high school that created many Warriors. The trio were already experts in combat and exploration in the wilderness. The school to them was no different than warm up. Much of the students were ones who had never stepped foot outside the city walls.

Zhao Lin obviously had before, and would take on beast most students would pee themselves at the sight off. Tang Shu and Tang Shao were decent as well, they could do a lot, as they each covered each others weakness. The trio sat together in the large auditorium that seated the entire school.

At the center stood the Goddess Velvet. She stood with two other individuals who looked quite young, no older than twenty at least. One was a man who had blue hair that had a few icicles on the strands. His face, blue eyes and handsome, and his expression was always calm and focused.

The other was a young woman, one who had fiery long hair, she was also quite a beauty, her crimson eyes stared into the crowd with a smile on her face. She stood not proudly, but resolutely. She was almost as tall as the other man giving her a mighty look.

The two brought great attention to the students as they chatted about them.

"Whose the two behind Goddess Velvet."

"Bodyguards?"

"No way, too young, and besides, does Goddess Velvet need a bodyguard."

As they chit chatted, they only settled down when Goddess Velvet started speaking.

"Young warriors of humanity, you have shown great prowess and results from your training here in the school. Three hundred years ago, our ancestors survived the greatest catastrophe and created the 5 Great cities. Forged a new path, new technology, and unlocked lost knowledge. Now we can defend what once hunted us, and take back our right place as the top of the food chain." She said proudly.

Everyone knew of the Great Catastrophe. Almost 300 years ago, the lands were torn asunder, and the enter planet changed. The laws of physics were bent, and somehow the Earth expanded. For an unknown reason, life on earth grew terrifying quick, and much stronger. Plant life grew conscious, animals learned human tongue, and they continued to evolve each living day. The population dwindled to barely a billion people. The survivors, were natural selections champions.

Until several years later, man discovered the existence of a new form of energy. An energy that existed within all life and the universe itself.

This energy was discovered by the Warrior Organization leader, who was the Leader of all mankind. It was said he was just a kid during the Great Catastrophe, but he became like a god to survive. He grew to become so powerful that to this day he still lives. Humans life expectancy grew, and they were able to live to 100 without any problems.

As time went on, the fight against the Evolved Beast of earth continued and grew. Humans need safe havens to grow and fight back. It was then the leader created the Warrior Organization, and soon created 5 cities.

The North City of the Weapon Masters. The East City of the Beast Riders. The South City of the Sea Demons. The West City of the Sky Soarers.

Then finally, the greatest city of mankind, home of nearly all that was left of humanity. The Central City. Here, the Warrior Organization base in the center of the 4, allowing them to send reinforcements to all 4 cities easily. It was here that they nurtured Warriors. And was Zhao Lin's home.

The energy discovered allowed not only technology to flourish immensely, but evolved humans beyond their understanding. It was discovered when absorbed into one self, it would allow the body to not only become stronger, but also create unique abilities. Some were stronger, fast, wielded fire, water, earth and air. There were even some whose reaction time was quick, even a computer would not keep up.

It was then that Warrior Organization created a class system, in order to accurately measure each Warrior, and assign in appropriate areas, one where they would not die so easily, nor one where it would be too easy to deal with.

Zhao Lin was considered to be a Trainee. Until he took an official exam from the Warriors Organization, he could not be considered a warrior until then.

Once he did, than he would gain the rank of Battle Warrior, the first warrior rank. Even then, those of the first rank were also powerful.

"The Warrior Organization has gained a great achievement recently, giving us an overflow of resources. Meaning we have the resources to make you students into Warriors. But the supply will only last a little while before it gets used up. Therefore, an open examination will begin 3 months from now, and the best contestant will be awarded a portion of the resources." Goddess Velvet continued, these words however caused the minds of the students to explode.

With this, thousands upon thousands will enter. And who will pass exactly? The exam is a survival test with the top contestant with high points get anything. And an open exam allowed unwanted monsters from big families.

Since earth became a hell hole, the population needed to maintain an overall strength that was enough to survive. As the weak could not survive within this world.

That was why for students, it was required of them to be a certain skill level. And upon recent news, many of the children of today, were incredibly more powerful than the last generation. It was thus decided to take their training to the next step, and even more training was added, in both difficult and amount.

Zhao Lin had long grown tired of the schools training regime. Simulations and sparings with the weak kids could not help him improve any longer. He wanted more challenges, to get better, and see exactly how far he can take it. He was an adrenaline junkie.

Tang Shu and Tang Shao shared a bit of the same passion, it was them that taught him things he didn't know about. In return, he taught them, together slowing forming this bond.

The 3 were considered top students, but Zhao Lin often skipped class, while the Tang siblings had the bare minimum grades. Even then, many of their teachers knew of their talents, so it was easy to get away with it. They received remarkable grades and performed outstandingly, if it weren't for their attitudes, the high school would have most likely had them graduate.

Zhao Lin sat there and was excited, no one knew how the test would go, as it would be a different experience for every person. No matter what, to him, it would be a fun challenge.

"There will be instructions sent your emails. Be sure to read them and have all requirements fulfilled. This surplus will only last a little while, so be quick." Goddess Velvet said with a smile. The entire school was in overwhelming hype.

"To show you how great an opportunity it is, I brought with me two new Warriors recently admitted. These two have reached the Battle Lord rank before 30, thanks to the resources we have given them. Not only are their talents amazing, they are also amazing Psychs."

Hearing these words the students were shocked.

"Battle Lords before 30? And Psychs as well?! Thats insane!"

"Wow, the Warrior Organization is really pumping out Warriors this year."

"Yeah. I heard that the amount of people who were able to unlock their Psychs almost double in the past 20 years."

Zhao Lin and the Tang Siblings were eyeing their future competition. Just the sight of them made them know they weren't a match for those 2. Each Battle Rank was stronger than the others, and it each measured based off strength, skill, and almost every aspect that was used in battle.

Based off old standards from the Old Age, a normal Warrior was equivalent to a full company of military soldiers.

Since the population dwindled so much, the Warriors needed to be able to handle multiple Evolved Beast. Evolved Beast were animals on earth that evolved to an amazing extent. Their bodies were unique in many ways. Some were beneficial to the human body when eaten, while some beasts hide were extremely strong, which are used in equipment and armor.

Some of the Evolved Beast became similar to many monsters, and mythical creatures to lore many years ago. Humans were at a great disadvantage, as almost every creature was capable of being a predator to humans.

Of course, they weren't the only ones to evolve. Humans were able to gain strength that surpassed normal limits, to be almost god like.

One of the more superior types were Psychs. Special beings with supernatural powers that enhanced their abilities by 10 fold. They were elite humans in many people's eyes and were the best people to train in the Organizations eyes. There was only one flaw, only a handful of the population were Psychs.

Having two Psychs in the same was even more rare. Thus, the two catched the crowd's attention instantly upon their introduction. It was said that one could form a Psych with enough training, but no proof major proof has connected Psychs to hard work, more of innate talent.

"So those are Psychs. Hey Zhao Lin, what do you think our chances are of beating them?" Tang Shu leaned over and asked. His gaze was obviously at the very pretty young lady. While Tang Shao was at the young mans.

Zhao Lin only laughed a bit before smiling bitterly.

"We wouldn't know how we ended up in the hospital." He said. This evaluation from Zhao Lin was enough for the siblings coldly breathe in. They always had confidence when they were young, but they couldn't help but feel defeated.

The rest of the announcement were demonstrations and questions. After, the VIPs soon left in the same vehicle they arrived in. Since then, the school sent all students and faculty emails stating that school was canceled for the upcoming exam and would be so for henceforth until the.

The school knew this was too big for an opportunity for students, if the lazy ones missed it, the will only depend on the hard path in the future.

The Tang siblings returned to their homes to train with their father, who was recently promoted to Battle Lord. They weren't rich, as their father took only small jobs that were enough for little luxuries.

That was another reason they were so willing to go outside the walls of the city.

His father was just a scientist within the government and was paid fairly. It was him who gave Zhao Lin intelligence, though he doesn't show it at home.

Since the day was still young, and he was alone, he decides to go sell his wares. After all, after buying the supplies for the last wilderness exploration, he was flat broke, and he couldn't ask his parents for any either.

He walked to a near transit by the school. And after a few minutes, a hovering bus like vehicle zoomed towards and halted in front of him. The doors opened and people walked in and out, Zhao Lin included. He took an empty aisle window seat.

As the bus flew off, you could see a majority of the city. It was tall silver skyscrapers. Many of the colors were just silver or gray. It was said that during the Old Age, people were more colorful, expressive. But those people soon disappeared when the earth changed.
