Granger

In the next morning, It is already 8:00 am when Alucard wakes up. He is late from his usual waking hour, which is two hours earlier. After he finished his routine, he decides to go to the nearest Starbucks to drink a cup of coffee. When he went inside the living room, he saw Miya still sleeping like a koala on the sofa. He then calls her name to wake her up. At the first and second call, there was no sign of the girl waking up soon. He then remembers what she said when they first met.

"You sleep to your heart's content because when you wake up, we have a lot of talking to do," Alucard whispered.

In Alucard's curiosity, he goes to the kitchen room to see how messy she made when she enters his apartment. But when he got there, in his disbelief, the kitchen is clean and tidy. He goes around it and realizes that it goes back to normal, except for the window that doesn't have any glass right now. It is as if that nothing happened last night, no weird girl entering his apartment in the middle of the night. After inspecting the kitchen, he then goes back to his original plan. He will buy himself a cup of coffee and for her.

Few minutes after Alucard leaves his apartment, unaware of her movements, Miya slips down the sofa. She woke up in an unfortunate way, as she senses her back hurts. Miya stands up and gives herself a little stretch to somehow ease the pain. She later went to the kitchen sink and gargle tap water. A loud rumbling noise came from her stomach, giving a hint that she is starving. She proceeds to the fridge and found nothing but a pack of vegetables, uncooked meat and dairy products. She got annoyed and slammed the refrigerator's door causing the items on the top to shake. As she saw this scenario, she panicked and extended both her arms, trying to stop the things from falling. Seeing that nothing wrong happened, she let out a loud sigh and calm herself. She then decided to cook something she can make easily.

Alucard arrived at his front door, he suddenly smells delicious food, making him crave for it. He followed the scent, which leads to the dining room, where Miya is arranging the pancakes at the table.

"Oh, your right on time. Come, let's eat. I cook both of us a couple of pancakes." Miya invited as she sat down the table.

"How dare you touch my things without my permission." Alucard steals a glance at the table. "Lucky for you, this pancakes seems tasty. So even though you are not sorry, you are forgiven."

Miya didn't say anything but only give Alucard a gentle smile. Alucard sat down on the opposite side of the table, facing Miya. He took a single bite at the pancakes. The creaminess of the pancakes immediately melts inside of his tongue. No matter how pleasing the food is, he doesn't want to let out a reaction. He is still wearing his poker face because Miya is staring at him intently.

"How was it?" Miya asked

"It is not that bad," Alucard said as he gets another bite.

"But that's not what I see," Miya said as her gentle smile turns to a mock smirk.

"Why do you want to know?" Alucard is now irritated.

"Why not?"

"Well, it is unexpectedly satisfying for some who eats a lot of food like you," Alucard said. "*Sigh* Before I forgot about it, I bought both of us an iced coffee."

Alucard grabs the paper bag beside him and put it on the table. Miya stands up as she looks inside the paper bag.

"I'm glad, thanks a lot, Mister," Miya cheered.

"Mister? Don't you still know who I am?" Alucard asked.

"Yup, I don't care," Miya mumbled between her bites.

"You, a stranger who suddenly broke into my apartment in the middle of the night, feeling at home and acting as if we are friends, doesn't even know my name." Alucard blurted

"I apologize for everything I have done, but if you haven't noticed, I need your help to hide me for a couple of months. If you want, I can be your servant as long as I am here. Isn't it a good deal, Mister?" Miya confidently asked.

Alucard was so shocked at Miya's suggestion. He couldn't process it clearly inside his head. He is staring at Miya's eyes, trying to think what he could say.

"Viscount! I have good news for you." Someone shouted.

"Granger?"

"The one and only." The voice stated.

Miya and Alucard look where the voice came. Suddenly, a guy carrying a violin case enter the dining room. Granger stops in his tracks as he notices that Alucard is eating with someone. It is not only someone but that someone is a girl.

"Oh, I see. I apologize for disturbing my work partner in the middle of your precious date. I shall wait in the living room as this is about our mission." Granger spoke.

He then glances to Alucard and gives him a teasing smile. Alucard, who is irritated, quickly takes the iced coffee of Miya and throw it at the direction of Granger. Granger's reflexes are faster than a regular person. He easily dodges the coffee.

"Too slow." Granger arrogantly said.

He chuckled as he was about to walk out of the dining room. He is so busy laughing that he didn't notice the ice in his steps. This ice cause Granger to slides, throwing his case to air and falling it back to his face.

"Serves you right," Alucard laugh.

Alucard stands up to follow Granger, who only got up, to the living room. But before he could go any further, a hand stop him from his path. He looked at Miya with a confused look.

"What about my iced coffee?" Miya whispered.

Alucard brushes his hand over his hair and grabs the iced coffee inside the paper bag and put it in front of Miya. Miya smiled, but Alucard didn't see it because he already rushes off. She finishes her pancakes and cleans the dishes they used. She then remembers what Granger called Alucard.

"Viscount? Is he acting like a noble because his name is a part of it?" Miya asked herself.

At the same time in the living room, Alucard is having a conversation with his partner.

"What is the good news that you are talking about earlier?" Alucard started.

"So it happens like this, as I am playing my violin for no absolute reason like I always do..."

"Get to the point."

"*Sigh* What I am about to say if you only have the patience to listen to me..."

"Granger."

"Shhh! A girl named Karina comes to me and make an offer. She is willing to help us monitor the Shadow Abyss." Granger discusses as he gives Alucard a photo of Karina.

"That's great. What is the catch?" Alucard asked.

"She must be present if we are going to make a move at the abyss," Granger said.

"I don't see any problems regarding this matter." Alucard comment.

"But how do we know that she is not a trap to ambush us in the middle of the mission?" Granger express.

"Well, I thought you already confirm that she is not by saying it is good news." Alucard ranted.

"You do not have to worry about Karina. She is the only dark elf that I know who can be trusted, despite our race difference."

Miya, who suddenly appeared behind Alucard, assured them. She swiftly sat down besides Alucard. As she looks at the picture, she let out a bitter smile.

"You seem to know a lot regarding this girl. Can you tell us more about her?" Granger questioned.

"I was lost on the other side of the Moon Lake. They are the one who saves me in the middle of nowhere." Miya started.

"They?" Granger asked.

"Yes, they. Karina and her twin sister, Selena." Miya answer.

"Correct me if I am wrong. Are you, a moon elf?" Alucard asked.

"What kind of question is that? The answer is obviously yes. At first glance, you can already pinpoint that she is an elf by her physical appearance. By looking at her clearly, she has this uniqueness that only moon elves have." Granger answer.

"Shut it up, Granger. You may now continue your story, Miya." Alucard demanded

"Unfortunately, Selena was chosen to be a sacrifice. As a sister, Karina doesn't want her twin sister to get hurt, so she fought back. But even though she tried, she couldn't save her. She could do nothing, but to watch Selena thrown into the Shadow Abyss. And somewhat similar to my story, Karina prayed to the Moon God. He then gives her weapon a unique power. She might have revenge her sister twin sister, but she still didn't save her." Miya narrate

"You said: And somewhat similar to my story. How is that?" Alucard asked.

"My bow is also a gift from the Moon God. It is the one who helped me save the Temple of the Moon and my other countrymen from the war." Miya said.

"The tragedy of Karina's story caused by the demons is one of the reasons why we become like this. Becoming a demon hunter is such a pain both physically and mentally. You wake up every morning, questioning if this was your last day." Granger react

"How about your emotional feelings?" Miya questioned.

"When you are on training to becoming a demon hunter, they also teach you to control your emotion. But when they say control, They do not mean to be calm and think all the times. To be the greatest demon hunter, you need to get rid of your soft spots, including your own emotion." Alucard explained.
