CHAPTER 24

Arjun jolted through the crowd in the railways station to find Ira. He was not sure if Ira was there, he just decided to check the railways station first as he recalled Ira mentioning she liked trains. It was a silly attempt but he hoped he would get lucky.

Arjun could only see hundreds of heads. It was nearly impossible for him to find Ira in that puddle of people. He had no other go but to yell out her name.

“IRA.” he kept shouting, but it was in vain.

The crowd of people diluted as they all bored into the trains, Arjun could finally have a clear view of the station.

Ira was nowhere to be seen, Arjun had given up after an hour-long thorough search. He sat down on a bench and rested his head on his hands, unable to stop his tears of helplessness. He felt someone’s soft fingers running through his hair, slowly and smoothly. Arjun raised his head to see the owner of the tender fingers through his tear stained eyes.

“Aju..” she breathed, wearing a painful look on her face.
