Never Love Again (BL)

I was living in an alternate world where once marked, the eyes turned red and the first to fall in love was you. I was marked when drunk. The person that marked me unknown, probably living a life of promiscuity. I was just a college student and the person I liked would never glance my way, not in this lifetime or the next. He was dating my sister. I learned my lesson before multiple times, starting a new relationship, dating then breakup.... They all ended the same way and I often ended up getting hurt. This was well proven well by my savior, my rescuer who hated me just as much as I despised him. Never will I ever love again *** DISCLAIMER: The picture used as the book cover is not mine. 124. Bring To Light

"I'm sure by now you are aware of the meaning of what a psychopath is. I summoned you to show you a video that could help in the case. From it, you will observe and deduce yourselves Mora's mindset at the age of ten.

Let me just clarify that psychopathy is a disorder that shows a complete lack in conscience and empathy towards others or any living thing. There is an existing fallacy equating a sociopath to be psychotic and vise-versa; do not mistake the two.

A true psychopath will act whichever way the please, meaning they can take whatever they want from you or others, violently or otherwise without the tiniest regret. They do not care for societal norms, values and have no regard to expectations from the society. In short, they do not feel guilt. Nonetheless, this is not to say that all psychopaths are violent in nature. For Mora's father, he is a fully fledged psychopath moving though life with supreme confidence and he is self aware.

You may wonder what is going through the mind of Mora and her father. Or rather, why would a psychopath be confident in themselves yet they are doing a lot of harm or causing distress to others? And, can something be done to fix this abnormality? Well, a psychopath can not comprehend basic emotions like empathy. This is a faulty or lacking in their brain. We call this a mirror neuron system. There are areas of the brain that assist in perceiving the pain of others like the right amygdala for sensing emotions, somatosensory cortex for procession sensations such as pain, heat, temperature, midcingulate cortex processes social information among others.

For a psychopath, these parts of their brain show no reaction. In short, lack of empathy.

The test done to Mora to trigger those parts in her brain has been retrieved, the result was as I've told you; a lack of emotion which her father noted as a default and tried fixing her himself. Mora's brother has confirmed this 'fixing' to have begun when his sister was much younger.

A lack of empathy is a fault in many psychopaths hence such a simple emotion, just as we find it difficult for them to not have, they can not also comprehend why we would feel attached to another's pain or emotions.

A lot of experienced individuals in my practice believe that psychopathy is just a disorder that brings forth poor judgements and bad decisions, decisions that can hurt others yet, it becomes more apparent that the consequences are adverse because they do not feel empathy at all.

Empathy is the connection that equips one with the right information for proper decision making. From Mora's brother, and the mother's statement, Mora's father tried to train his daughter to feel empathy only to adapt in the society. However, his methods fueled Mora to make extremely bad decisions by training her to channel her lust for blood in another way.

At this point, I know you understand why locking up Mora and her father is pointless. Psychopaths have no sense of guilt or remorse. Retribution is not something they understand because of an existing fault in their brain. Nonetheless, there have been other ways to treat a psychopath through rewarding, something that Mora's brother confessed to the father doing to often whenever Mora would keep a pet longer than a month... But a psychopath helping a psychopath is a blind person leading another. They will get lost even more, if not become worse and meet a fatality.

Kindly note that psychopathy isn't a disease that can be cured through medication, meditation or hypnosis. It can only be managed. The same way you'd manage someone suffering from substance abuse is the same way you'd manage psychopathy so as to lead a normal life.

What we normally recommend whenever we get cases like this is to encourage recognision from family members living with a psycopath. Recognizing even the slightest acts of empathy or positive action goes a long way. This treatment is a cognitive behavioral model used and it works wonders since it reduces the risk of a psycopath acting violently by a big margin.

Let's get back to Mora's case. She has a blood lust and does not feel remorse over whichever means she feeds that lust. I'd say she isn't afraid to be around dead bodies infact, her cutting into the dead skin of a corpse in search of blood is a mood booster. She enjoys slow death too since as per the report, she prefers to creat some form of connection with her 'spesimens' before elimination. Keep in mind a psycopath does not go about looking for violence. This is what would differenciate Mora from people who violently lust for blood or death. She is precise in her actions and isn't compelled to kill first but appears to be more interested in the cause of death, even if a body is going into shock. If she were a regular blood thirsty individual, she'd have eliminated her brother a long time ago.

Mora is what I'd call a neurotypical psycopath. Her attachent to blood has no affiliation with violence, rather an interest in death. Her decision to eliminate her subjects is because she chooses to and since she lacks empathy, her imaginary attachment to her specimens die as soon as she eliminates them. She appears to be in search of connection, perhaps a lesson from her father to adapt in the society by forming attachments with people or things.

Mora also appears to habour some form of sadness within her that she doesn't understand. She tries to hide it though. This sadness may have been birthed from loneliness. If I were to compare her to her father, her father being a highly functioning psycopath, Mora's is more dangerous. She can go nuclear at any moment. Her father might have thought he'd successfully train her however, he was the wrong person to handle her psychopathy since she formed an attachment with her father, who gives her none, and this created a void in her.

She may have probably tried to replace that loss through her mother or brother among other people or things, but they wouldn't quite fit in. As she grew with that glitch, it became too big a problem for even her father to handle, and since her father is a psychopath just like herself, he couldn't care less.

A highly functioning psychopath has good impulse control. They only cause harm that is beneficial to them in some way. For Mora, she could harm anything and anyone because she is bored from being lonely.

I'll play a video of her in her interview when she was ten years of age." The doctor stood up, feeling like she'd been talking alone for the longest time in the presence of five people infront of her, two of them a couple and Elric's mother sitting beside them.

"What do you normally think about Mora?

"If you really knew, you'd run away as soon as conceivably possible."

"This shows the presence of a glitch in her psychopathy." The doctor pointed out then pressed on play.

"Why are you fascinated by blood?"

"Blood is blood."

"As you can see, it's already a challenge getting through to her even for a trained professional as opposed to her father whose answers would probably be straight forward.

"Are you aware of your condition?"

"Of course. My parents made it clear long ago that I'm unique and evolved. My brother treats me normally and I like that. It shows I'm blending well enough."

"Do you get cravings to cause harm, or it's just particularly blood lust?"

"I have no intention of killing anyone. They just die from pain. It is no fault of their own that they are weak to pain."

"You can see clearly she has harbors no remorse for her actions. She doesn't act out from loosing her temper. Infact, she carries out her hobbies as her brother stated, very calmly with a sound mind. She has been trained to not harm her family...well, that was in the past but the Mora we know now has caused her brother more harm for three years."

"Would you like to manage this craving for blood?"

"Yes. Mother says it's morally wrong to not feel anything after tearing someone's skin just for a little blood. Father says people will call me evil, or the devil and I will end up alone or dead somewhere."

"Her answer shows she is willing to receive treatment and is open to managing her psychopathy. She has fully embraced and is willing to integrate her condition."

"When you look at yourself in the mirror, describe what you see?"

"I'm human. I know my desires are peculiar and considered a curse. That makes me feel lethal and powerful. Whenever I see blood, my whole body goes in a frenzy that I have to remind myself to calm down and compare the subject infront of me to myself. Then I mirror their appearence to mine from hair, skin, eyes, reflex...blood... This attachment is important to me for in that moment, my mask pieces back together, hiding my power, or my evolution as father calls it."

"I do not think I need to expound on her last answer. I'd like to add though that Mora is not free of emotion. She still experiences hostility within herself, shame, loneliness, anxiaty and irritability. However, do not confuse any of these with empathy. These characteristics make her antisocial and what is a psychopath if not an antisocial personality disorder?

To summarize, her father was successful at teaching her to blend in which she adapted well. She is highly inteligent but has poor judgement due to her lack of empathy, remorse or guilt. Her impulsive tendencies are hidden through manipulation and lies. She has also learned superficial charm that has allowed her build connections with people hence can cry infront of you and you'd think she is in deep pain or despair."

"Are you saying whatever is happening to her family right now does not affect her in any way emotionally?" Elric's mother asked.

"She may experience pain as long as she has connected in some way with something or someone. Even though this connection may be hazardous to the other party but to her, that connection is her link to her acting normal around others."

"That means she can be cured."

"As I mentioned earlier, psycopathy can only be managed. Whilst the connection may be beneficial to a psychopath, it's not always the case especially when dealing with volatile psycopaths like Mora. A connection as such would act well on someone like her father. Perhaps that was how the father ended up having a lover according to his wife."

"We can't trust her confession. She seemed unstable" Elric's mother said.

"Perhaps you are right, yet was reported earlier that this lover is doing everything in his power to get Mora's father out of this predicament. Do you think you can get intouch with him? I can almost guarantee his lover being a good asset to this case."

"What do you mean?"

"Psychopaths have at least one obsession. Mora's is blood, but then with that obsession comes a weakness. It's a double edged sword in a way. She will draw blood from anything but she probably has or is yet to have something or someone she can't draw blood from. We call this Achille's Hell. A weakness that despite all the strength, becomes their downfall."

"What would Mora's father's be?" Yeon's dad asked.

"Note that psychopaths have a character that repels people and are aware of this. It can make them sad but not all psycopaths are the same. That's why to Mora's father, his Achille's Heel is his strength and weakness while to Mora, can be purely weakness. Mora's psychopathy craves a close bond while her father's shatters everything except his Achille's Heel. Mora suffers from loneliness but since she is devoid of emotion, she isn't aware of it. She is the most dangerous of the two because she will continue to be in search of connection with people or things. Her violent nature will be birthed and grow from a fascination of blood to pure blood lust until she will reach a point of no return. As her loneliness and futile search increases, so does her violence become more bizarre.

Soon enough, she will hit a wall and opt to self destruct after seeing her life as worthless and those around them too."

"How can we prevent this from happening?" Yeon's mother inquired.

"For Mora's father, we must find his Achille's Heel and since I can presume I know who it is, we just need to get intouch with his lover who marked him."

"What about Mora?"

"She is the complicated one. Since he is a highly volatile psychopath, I'd suggest befriending her and acting normal around her."

"We've been doing that for months. I fear she is already suspecting us."

"That is a problem. We need to find what she is drawn to, or what makes her tick. A small crack is all we need to break into her true self."

Yeon's dad spoke looking extremely worried. "She seems to like my daughter a lot. I do not know why..."

"She can't be her Achille's Heel. Seeing that Mora was attached to pets before to the point of petting her own brother, perhaps we can start from there."

"I have a suggestion." Elric's mother spoke. "Since she lives alone, it would be hard keeping her under constant watch. Rather, inviting her to stay over would completely eliminate any form of suspicion from her. It would disarm her and perhaps a moment of weakess could show. Keeping her close too makes it easy for us to know her shedule. She acts as a social butterfly, I'm sure she'd want to share her daily activities with someone."

"But where would she stay? Keeping her in your house jeopardizes the case."

"I was talking about you two."

"What? No way!" Yeon's dad opposed. "Mijin lives in the same house! They fight all the time and we couldn't possibly keep them under the same roof."

"She is right sweatheart. If we want this case to come to an end as quickly as possible, we should consider this."

"She could stay with us." Dad Robin volunteered but was immediately dismissed.

"Stan would go bezerk at the slightest provocation. Remember what happened last time?" Elric's mother cautioned.

"Mijin is sensitive now. She is pregnant..." Mijin's dad shook his head in disapproval.

"Then what do we do?"

"I do not think we have much time to negotiate. As time passes, the probability of Mora becoming more violent increases. All we need is a minor confusion. She'd never expect this move."

Everyone's eyes focused on Yeon's dad making him feel cornered. He didn't like the idea but wished to end this case as quickly as yesterday. "Yeon's room is unoccupied, I guess she can stay with us." He mumbled.

"I'm sure that would make her estatic." Mijin's mother smiled. "As back up, I always have my scent as a last resort."

"What scent?" Dad Robin asked.

Elric's mother smiled. "Ask the doctor. She was there."
