115. Loosing My Temper

Mora and Mijn's mom had been sitting quietly in a private waiting area. Throughout their journey to the hospital, Mijin had refused to speak to anyone, just like she had previously done for two weeks after her attack. It had been a while since she was taken for check up, especially this particular day where she was to meet up with her assulter. They were waiting for about an hour, Mora occasionally standing up and pacing about anxiously.

"You're making me dizzy my dear. Sit down for a few minutes."

Mora smiled at Mijin's mom and was about to take a seat when the door opened and a man dressed in scrubs come in. He identified himself as the nurse and asked only one of them to accompany him.

"You should probably go ahead. He is your brother after all."

"I'm sure Mijin would rather you go instead. Are you forgetting how she gave me a cold shoulder the entire journey here?"

Looking at the nurse, Mijin's mom asked. "Can't the two of us come together?"

Mora answered in the nurse's stead. "You can go first and if Mijin allows it, I'll come in later."

The nurse seemed to agree with Mora. "That would be a good idea considering the mental state of both patients. Afterwards, she'll join you if the doctor allows."

"Okay then." Mijin's mom stood up and followed behind the nurse until they reached a room where both Mijin and Mora's brother had been sitting down separate from each other. Mora's brother's eyes were fixated on Mijin intently, who seemed to be avoiding his gaze at all cost.

It appeared both of them were undergoing a number of tests and Mijin's mom looked at the nurse who had began taking out a needle from her daughter's arm, as if everything had been finalized. He then gathered a few soiled bandages next to Mora's brother and threw them in a biohazard bag.

The doctor on the other hand was busy keeping a record of their vital signs, the nurse informing Mijin's mom that he had been meticulous throughout the entire procedure. Afterwards, she handed them to the nurse and told him to stand by then turned her attention to Mijin's mom who stood by silently, confused by what was transpiring infront of her.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting. I'm quite thorough with my work."

"I dont mind waiting as long as they are both okay." Mijin's mom said as she glanced from Mora's brother and back to Mijin, whose gaze had shifted to the floor.

"I shall give you my diagnosis here iN their presence as they have both requested. Let's sit down first." The doctor suggested and pointed at two empty chairs on the side separated by what appeared to be a coffee table.

"We are not treating normal health conditions here. We want the results to be slow and progressive. For one, the gentleman's body has begun fighting the foreign change of blood transfused into him earlier. Our main objective was not to only administer his former fated's blood alone but to jumpstart his scent manipulation even in the slightest. He was already paired to another and performed a marking, however, an in-depth analysis of his blood showed an onset of scent manipulation waiting to happen. That process was weakened by a lot of factors, one being a faulty marking under the influence of a strong drug that has been administered to him for about three years. However, if he can still scent manipulate even at a five percent rate, we can tap that response and tie him to the scent of his former fated. She too will experience a minor manipulation, having an extra scent from the primary scents. Overtime, if they nourish each other's scents by being around each other, we will be able to achieve a good fraction of a scent manifestation from both of them.

Their blood samples have been sent to the lab an our ago and we will monitor the changes. Before they leave, we shall take another sample from both of them and compare for any response. I'd suggest them both lying down for a few hours after eating something light. A proper sleep would be recommended as well."

Glancing at the nurse, Mijin's mom spoke. "Well, the sister is outside, she should probably be here to listen to this too."

"No." Mijin said. "I've endured her company while we drove here, I don't want to have to be around her unless necessary."

"This is a necessary moment my dear. She will speak on her brother's behalf." Mijin's mom replied.

"Not to worry. She can come later." The doctor assured Mijin then returned her gaze to her mother. "With regards to her pregnancy, we can terminate it but I wouldn't advise on it. The fetus' blood could save this boy's life since it is uncontaminated. It may speed up his recovery in may ways than one."

"What do you mean?" Mijin's mom looked confused. As far as she was for the idea of Mijin keeping the pregnancy, she didn't want her future grandchild to be used as an experiment. Moreover, the only reason she had insisted Mijin to keep the pregnancy was because she'd thought the child would simmer Mijin's wild character down.

"The fetus shares both her parents blood components, including scents. I have a very renowned doctor working on scents and with your daughter's permission, if she chooses to keep the pregnancy, while in its second trimester, we will draw out scent formation components from the fetus, a very harmless procedure equivalent to doing a pap smear. It won't harm your daughter neither the fetus. In the final stages of her pregnancy, we will also perform a procedure that allows a fully grown fetus donate a minor portion of their blood to their parent. This procedure is very common among fated especially during complicated pregnancies that sometimes lead to shock. The carrier of a pregnancy during labour undergoes excruciating pain and looses their ability to control their scents. As we all know, they have a choice to take scent inhibitors though it's normally advised against. If they do not, they let out a lot of scent and may go into shock, a state we doctors often refer to scentimatisation. When this happens, a sample is taken from the fetus to be administered immediately to their parent. In Layman's language, this is considered as a temporary boost since being in shock is not a state to last in for more than ten minutes, otherwise the casualty goes into a coma."

"So basically, it is the choice of my daughter to decide whether she wants keep the baby, and for the said procedure to be done or not?"

"Yes. I've spoken to her and her former fated. She refuses to keep the pregnancy. There have also been attempts from her to terminate it herself, she confessed."

"What?" Mijin's mother shot her daughter an angry look.

"Please, do not be upset at her actions. Medically, I understand why she did that especially after what she went through. What I can't wrap my head around is how she still got pregnant despite being 'medically cleaned' up. My only assumption is her being taken to the hospital after being attacked was done not more than 48hours post her attack. Normally between 48 to 72 hours, the chances of conceiving are extremely low. She shouldn't have conceived if she was indeed rushed to hospital immediately as the other reports had said."

"I've told you all not to trust Mora but none of you would believe me." Mijin scoffed.

"Mora? She is here?" Mora's brother finally spoke.

"Yes stupid! She's been here the entire time!"

"Kindly refrain from using her name directly. We already advised you that the direct use of sister's name is a trigger." Turning her gaze from Mijin and back to her mother, the doctor added. "I forgot to mention that to you earlier. When he was transferred here a few days ago, his handover report cautioned clearly against using his sister's name directly."

"It's pointless to keep her at bay. She wants to speak to her brother so she can cover her tracks."

"Mijin dear please, behave."

"Doctor, I want an abortion. I do not care if he dies or I die during the procedure. The only way to bring...his sister down is to terminate this pregnancy!"

"What do you say that?" The doctor asked Mijin's mom.

"She wants us to be responsible for her crazy brother while she goes off to fight with who knows who? I don't want to take responsibility for anything mom..!"

"But keeping the pregnancy to full term could save this boy's life. He will live a normal life even if he won't be around you. Terminating the pregnancy only gives him one chance and that is to be dependent on the chance that you'll both experience a fraction of scent manifestation and manipulation. If you completely intend to rid him off you, carry the pregnancy to full term..."

"I don't want to raise this child!"

"You can give it up for adoption..."

"Mora won't allow that!"

"Where is she? I've been asking for her but none of you seem to be answering me." Mora's brother spoke as he stood up. "Take me to her please... She said father will..."

"Damn it! She is not dead as you think you fool! Your father didn't eliminate her. If you cant believe anyone else in this room then you can believe me...!"

"Then why is she not here with me?"

"Because I don't want to see her face! She doesn't care about you! She is only using you and has been doing so for many years to control your father. How naive are you really or did that drug completely fry your stupid brain completely...?"

"Mijin! Stop!" Her mother yelled, sending everyone in the room to a still and frightened position, shaken by the density in the air filled by a powerful threatening scent coming from her. Upon realizing her lost control, she stopped scenting out and apologized to the doctor and the nurse, but they were frozen stiff, their eyes wide and their body shaking.

"It appears...mother....you'll end up killing him...before his sister does..." Mijin was panting from her mother's scent, yet despite being frightened, she wore a crooked smile and her mother followed her gaze to a gasping image of Mora's brother.

Looking at both the nurse and the doctor, who were rooted on the spot trapped by her scent, their eyes looked like they were begging her to stop scenting out but couldnt utter a single word.

"Your scent...is too...much for him...mother..."

"Oh no..." Mijin's mom stood up abruptly from her seat and rushed to open the door ajar. She called for help but anyone who came closer to the room quickly covered their noses and instinctively kept a distance.

Rushing back inside, she quickly dragged Mora's brother outside, a few feet away from the room and then kept a distance away from him. A few nurses rushed to his aid and Mijin's mom watched in disbelief as he slowly began breathing normally.

"What came over me?" Mijin's mom whispered to herself as she leaned on the nearest wall, shutting her eyes tightly, a sense of guilt beating at her conscience.

"I lost control..."
