Chapter 1

Alex POV

I walked down the brick path to my first class. I wondered idly if this years professor will be a fucking pervert much like the last who was fired halfway through the year. As I entered the creative writing class I noticed the professor, a woman, standing at the front of the class. I was late, per usual. The only seat open was on the second row next to a girl i didn't recognize and the annoying fuck that is Bryce Lexington. The girl was obviously annoyed by his persistent talking as she tried to focus on the speaker in the front of the room. I walked down the long isle and sat in between them. Bryce grunted as I sat down and the girl gave me a grateful smirk.

"Okay now that everyone is here," the professor looked pointedly at me.

"We can begin. Hello everyone you can call me Mrs. Carson. This class, is your syllabus. It has fifty-five percent of your grade on it in the form of of projects and papers. The other forty-five percent will be this journal. Today we are going to start with something easy. I want you to take out your journal and write about which classic novel you identify with. Which one speaks to you, resonates with you, leaves you with questions and answers. Begin." I laugh quietly at the obnoxious assignment. Who in there right mind identifies with a novel. Novels are fantasy, they end in cliche and harmony. Real life isn't like that. I look over to the girl i sat beside, she is writing away in her journal. Her dark hair has fallen over her shoulders to where I cant see what she is writing. I have to admit however there is a good chance she is writing on and on about some stupid fucking Jane Austin novel that has nothing to do with her life. I move my hands to grab the journal in my bag and begin writing about my lack of novelty.

I don't believe that my life is based of of some novel. Novels are fantasy, they end in cliche and harmony. Real life isn't like that. I believe that life is based on chance. If I continue to make the choices I make then I will end up alone forever. However I don't know the future maybe one day I will change and grow out of my self, turning into something else. A happy person with a family and a life. Maybe I will find a beautiful, smart, nice woman to marry and have children with. I do find it unlikely, but hey, who knows.

I wrote a small amount about something I don't believe in. Something about a life and a family. I will never have these things. I will always be in a shell and alone. It doesn't make me as mad to think about that now as it once did. I used to get angry at myself and drink a bottle of vodka from the top shelf of my fathers cupboard. Now I just go to a random bar and pick up a random girl. My thoughts are interrupted when Mrs. Carson turns to the class announcing our time is up. I get up out of my seat to walk to the door but as I stand I notice Bryce pushing himself on the poor girl to my left. So I turn to her and clear my throat.

"Hi I'm Alex it is nice to meet you." I say interrupting Bryce's over eager advances. She glances up at me with a thankful smile. I have no interest in the girl but I will never find making women uncomfortable acceptable.

"Hi I'm Lila, nice to me you as well." She says standing. Bryce glares at me as i offer to walk her out. She accepts, as soon as we get out of the room she tries to thank me so I raise my hand to silence her and walk out the door. I don't turn around to see her stunned face that I know is there. I could care less to see it. I've helped her get out of the situation with Bryce no reason to be nice to her two times in a row.

After about two minutes of walking down the path to my car I glance behind me out of habit. I notice the girl walking behind me looking down into a book. Lisa looks up at me then back down at the book. When we near the parking lot I hear her close the book and grab keys from her bag. I walk over to my car and out of curiosity watch as she walks toward a black 1967 Chevrolet Impala I had been admiring earlier. She climbs into the driver seat and starts the car. It turns on and I can instantly hear the Harry Styles pouring out her opened window. She backs out of the space and pulls around to where I'm still standing next to my car. She turns down the radio to speak to me.

"Thanks for helping me with Bryce." She simply states and turns the radio back up and pulls away. I smile to myself knowing i deserved that for not letting her say thank you back at the classroom. I do have to admit however that I am surprised she was not pissed or annoyed. She seems like a nice person, nice enough to let me be mean and only has a snarky comment in return.

Authors Note

Hey guys I don't have any views right now but I just wanted to put this in just in case. The 1967 impala is a reference, you guys can guess from where. The next chapter will be from Lila's POV. I'm not going to set a certain location until I have enough readers to have them vote. As of right now this is just an experiment that has an 80% chance of failing. Hope I get readers!!!! Thanks for reading this!!!

P.S Not all chapters will be this short I am just testing the waters right now before I completely dive in.
