10 Just An Omega

Lucas was the son of an elder, the former beta of the White Moon Pack.

His father had met an accident in the past while subduing a family of rogues who harbored ill intentions.

This family of rogues were from a far land, and they were banished because of the wolf with them who awakened as an omega.

Lucas, who was just a boy then, had developed an unhealthy opinion towards omegas.

Together with his rigorous training to inherit the beta position, he also constantly steeled himself not to fall victim to the disaster that omegas bring.

The previous night had been chaotic, and calming down all the alphas and wolves that were affected by omega pheromones felt like forever.

Still, Lucas was a rational thinker.

He had always been worried about his alpha who had shared his silliness with him when they were younger.

Shiloh's parents were picture perfect.

That was why he also loved daydreaming about how he would meet his mate and how he would treat them one day.

Till he turned eighteen, the age when wolves were finally able to feel their mate.

However, years passed and his once hopeful eyes faded into dullness.

It was indeed common not to meet your mate in the first few years after adulting, but you could feel them.

It was said that the Moon Goddess doted on her little wolves, and that was why she granted them an ability that will let them be able to find their mate.

If you couldn't feel your mate's presence, doesn't that mean you did not have one?

It seemed as if Shiloh had just one day suddenly accepted this fact and casually spoke about it.

After that, their lives started racing against time.

Shiloh focused on preparing to bring back the Pentagon Alliance.

It was such a big movement that all the other neighboring packs already knew of it.

But White Moon was a strong and capable pack with a rich history, so nearby small packs could only brace themselves and pray.

With what happened the previous night, it seemed to be the perfect timing to put their plans into motion.

Conquer Blue Crescent first, the pack nearest to them and currently the most vulnerable.

Taking the omega was just a bonus.

Watching the small movements that Shiloh and the omega were making behind a tree, the uneasiness in Lucas's heart made his chest itchy.

He couldn't help but try to quicken his shift and see for himself if Shiloh was still in his right mind.

As a result, just as Lucas was sniffing his nose into their business, he was flashed and blinded by the ambiguous appearance that they were sporting.

The damn omega was seducing Shiloh with his pheromones!

Nevada heard the rustles from behind him and was about to turn his head when Shiloh used his other hand to hold the back of his neck to stop him.

Afterwards, Shiloh's cold gaze swept past Lucas, startling the beta, before looking down at the omega in front of him again.

"Your pheromones," he whispered in Nevada's ear.

Lucas heard it as well, making him unconsciously inhale a few more times.

Shiloh turned to him, and in a chilly voice, he said, "What are you still idling around for? Sprint ahead and gather the pack. No one is permitted to be absent."

At the same time, Nevada finally noticed that he had carelessly lost control.

Ashamed, he tried to withdraw as much pheromones as he could and looked up to study the expression of the alpha in front of him.

How come Shiloh isn't affected?

It's not that Nevada wants him to be, but he suddenly feels a bit dissatisfied with his lack of reaction.

Were his pheromones actually weak? Was he not attractive?

"You're still in heat. Don't shift for now," Shiloh told him once Lucas was driven away.

Although Nevada was indeed a bit different, there was no telling whether shifting truly has no effect on his heat. Since the wolf form follows its instincts more than logic when heats peak.

Nevada made a face. "There's a perfectly good road back home. I could have used the car if you didn't insist on going into the forest."

Shiloh held the collar of his own shirt and swiftly took it off in one movement. He then began to unbuckle his pants.

Shocked, Nevada stepped back and raised his panicked voice, "Fuck! Why are you stripping here? Can't you hide behind a different tree?"

A corner of Shiloh's eye twitched at the sound of Nevada's cussing.

"Weren't omegas supposed to be soft and cute? Or hot and tempting? Why are you neither?" Shiloh sent him a disdainful look before dropping the last piece of his clothing to the ground.

Nevada avoided his gaze with a frown.

"This is the shortest route. Ride me. Be good and keep your scent in check."

Nevada hasn't even retaliated about the man stereotyping when he was taken aback by his next words.

"What ride? Can't you choose your words more carefully?"

"All the same," Shiloh lazily retorted.

"You're a damn pervert!"

A massive and majestic black werewolf appeared and Nevada could only swallow back the words that were already at the tip of his tongue.

The wolf was a shadow. It has beautiful bright golden eyes that were quietly looking at him with amusement.

He probably wouldn't see it in the dark unless he looked properly.

What made him halt was that its size was so much bigger than him.

Both in human and wolf form, the male lead was larger than him! It's just ridiculous!

Shiloh watched the little human who was wearing an aggrieved expression. An image of a white wolf with clipped ears popped into his mind.

He thought that the omega was now acting cute after he had seen his beautiful form.

The black werewolf gladly lowered its back to let Nevada sit on its back, but the omega did not budge.

Sticking out its tongue, the wolf leaned towards Nevada and intimately rubbed its head against his hand and licked it once before gesturing at its back.

Who was Nevada?

A closeted gay in real life who may have loved extreme sports, but also ultimately liked collecting soft things.

His childish nature was resurfacing, and he imagined himself riding a wolf.

'Oh, my god! I won't get this chance again when I go back to reality!'

So Shiloh didn't really need to tell him again.

Nevada was just sidetracked by excitement, but inside, he was already on the back of a galloping werewolf.

Who wouldn't want to experience riding a wolf, right?

His only doubt was that this was a perverted alpha who, in his opinion, was just probably feigning indifference and would pounce on him once he let his guard down.

However, his desire was just too much. He had already climbed on its back before he knew it and held onto its neck as a support.

He could not even help caressing its fur a few times when he felt its soft fur.

Nevada felt it purr, making him feel satisfied.

When it started to walk, Nevada looked up to see that the other wolves were already jumping across the river.

Their eyes would widen with surprise a little when their sight would land on them, but they would soon look away and run ahead.

Once Shiloh was only a few meters away from the riverbank, the wolf turned to look at him.

Nevada felt like he understood it and tightened his hold onto it.

The river wasn't very wide, but it was a bit deep.

Nevada felt the air in his face when they crossed.

After landing, without pause, Shiloh just started speed running to the direction of his territory.

He was fast and Nevada suddenly felt a bit cold from the wind.

Shiloh then communicated with the warriors around them, "Go on ahead. Make sure to tighten the security for when we arrive."

They all knew that an omega would be an issue. Especially if it was to be someone who Shiloh will favor.

They understood that they needed enough wolves that could stop anyone who would harm the omega.

They were not stupid.

They could feel their alpha's interest towards the omega.

Although they also do not look at omegas favorably, if Shiloh really does keep him by his side, it's smart to start getting on their good side now.

The originally bumpy ride started turning gentle, making Nevada doze off a little.

Due to the cold, his nape was also feeling uncomfortable again.

However, he did not become lax at keeping his pheromones in check. It was his single advantage.

He must use it to its potential and not show any flaw.

With their speed, it wasn't long till Nevada caught sight of a magnificent meadow past trees in front of them.

He could also see some tens to hundreds of humans and werewolves interacting harmoniously.

He unconsciously clutched at a crumple of fur he was hugging, and he heard a low growl.

He was to be introduced.

When they arrived in the view of everyone present, Nevada watched them cast surprised and curious gazes at them.

There were a few hostile stares, too, maybe worn by those who had recognized him.

But Nevada was not courteous and boldly returned their looks.

He was with the alpha. What was there to be afraid of?

Shiloh heard Lucas's voice in the mind link, "Shiloh, are you sure about this?"

Shiloh tried to hide the happiness appearing in his tone as he answered, "Never been more certain."

Lucas was dumbfounded as he realized something. He threw a knowing look at his childhood friend.

It can't be that this omega is the one he's been looking for?

Something stirred inside Lucas. He hissed and resolved himself. Maybe he could learn to extinguish his dislike towards omegas. He has no choice now anyway.

A certain girl with chestnut brown hair walked up to Lucas, wearing a very pretty smile, before then landing her gaze on Shiloh.

She did not dare to approach his wolf form and stood a few yards away.

Still, she didn't hide the emotions in her eyes.

She asked, "This person is familiar. Who might this be?"

It was the question that was also in the minds of the other pack members.

Lucas wanted to speak, but he suddenly halted. The silence went on for a few moments before Nevada heaved a deep breath in irritation.

Obviously, he must be getting tested by the great alpha.

That was why not even Lucas could interfere.

"My name is Nevada," he curtly replied.

The smile on the girl's face did not change. "Nevada of Blue Crescent? The omega?"

"Yes," he answered without hesitation.

There were gasps in the crowd as the men unconsciously took a step back.

His heat started just last night!

Why is he prancing about outside now?

"Alpha, I don't mean to offend." The girl turned to Shiloh and spoke in a shrill voice, annoying Nevada to the core.

"Are you perhaps intoxicated right now?"

What other explanations could there be, right?

Shiloh was loyal to his unknown mate. How could he be connected to this disgusting omega unless he was seduced by his stinky pheromones?

Nevada, with an aching nape and thinning patience, automatically rolled his eyes.

The smile on the girl's face was erased and her lips flattened.

"This omega is disrespecting me?" she asked, her left eyebrow raising and tone mocking.

Nevada snorted and ignored her.

It's common courtesy to introduce yourself first when asking for someone's name, but she directly questioned him to make him feel unwelcome.

Nevada thought that this girl should be thankful he wasn't in the mood.

In front of White Moon, he kicked werewolf Shiloh's side.

Not too strong and not too light, but it was enough to render the pack members speechless.

"I want to rest," Nevada muttered demandingly.

When Shiloh helplessly turned to sprint and answer his whim without a sound, it was a loud enough announcement to everyone.

The message was so clear that their jaws were left hanging.

'This person is not just an omega.'
