Nessa

Nessa is a young paranoid girl who has no time for useless romance and cares about no-one but herself and her family. She's given a seemingly harmless gift which ends up changing her world as she knows it. Literally. Stuck in a different world with nothing but her wits and her brother, Nessa struggles to complete a game and escape a world filled magic, monsters and self made villains so she can return to reality. She soon finds out that this is indeed more than just a game and she was nothing more than a pawn in the hands of people far stronger than she was. Warning: Despite the fact that the mc is female, she's neither a hero nor a villain. She's the most paranoid and untrusting person you might ever meet. So if you're looking for a story where the mc swooshes in to save the day every single time, I'm sorry this is not your read.
