23 A Day To Forever Remember.

"Who is he?"

"His name is Noah, he's one of the most respected high guides we have around here. I don't know how he knows me but we've never talked to each other. I heard rumors that he's a sweet person, guess I have seen it for myself today" Ariana admired the high guide but quickly took her eyes off him the moment she saw the girl he went over to meet.

"He's kinda sweet I must confess too, but what's a high guide? You guys keep confusing me with all that" Nicki agreed with Ariana that Noah was a sweet person. He was very social too because there was no way in hell, she could be the one to come speak with two strangers as if they knew each other or were even friends. 

"We have different kinds of guides here, starting from their status. There are high guides, after them comes student guides, then senior guides, and junior guides. Your guides are student guides but they are well respected more than most high guides, come let's go somewhere else" Ariana still got a few more places in mind that she wanted to show Nicki.

"No, wait, Ari, who's the girl he's talking with? She kind of looks familiar to me" However, Nicki wasn't ready to leave as she freed herself from Ariana's hold. Not till she finds out who the girl Noah was with is. Even at a far distance from him and the girl who could turn out to be his girlfriend, she looked like someone Nicki has come in contact with before. 

And it made her curiosity rise to another level. 

"Ugh," Ariana rolled her eyes in disgust, She was about to walk away with Nicki with the hope she doesn't ask about the girl Noah was with. However, it was too late. 

"That's Nadia Tate, his mate. But wait a minute, how do you know her?, Have you guys met before? Did you meet her before me?" Ariana asked when her mind recalled Nicki saying something about Nadia looking like someone familiar.

"No, I met you before her. She's just a girl that came to pick on me while we were still in the hall training when my guides left with the Alpha" Nicki finally was able to recognize the girl Noah was with. She has a tattoo on her back that could be easily used to notice her.

"Wait, she picked on you during training?" Ariana was shocked to find out Nadia picked on Nicki during training. It wasn't that surprising since everyone knows Nadia Tate as a bully, but it was too soon for her to pick on someone new to the academy. It normally takes weeks or even months before she notices a new victim and then picks on him.

But Nicki's case was different, she has been a hot topic ever since she defied the Alpha and went unpunished for it. So, it was quite understandable how Nadia got to notice her too soon and even picked on her.

"Yeah, I could have successfully skipped training after my guides left, but she somehow came out of nowhere and got in the way. Then she started being mean to me. But I happened to stop her, we both got caught in the end and I think I could have gotten punished, but the Alpha seemed to have known what was happening and sent someone to come get me" 

Nicki explained in short details with a little demonstration to Ariana what transpired between her and the girl Noah was cuddling right now. Her eyes were still on the couples, stealing glances at them. The lovely and affectionate act they were both displaying made her know they were deeply in love with each other.

"It's a good thing you made her know you aren't someone to be messed with. Nadia is a tiny little problem that can be tough to deal with if you don't deal with her the first time she shows up" 

Ariana was glad to hear Nicki handled Nadia well, however, she wasn't so sure that that first time would be the last time she would try to pick on her. Especially, when she didn't let Nadia get what she wanted. 

"So, she's his mate? As in forever and ever? Till death do they apart?" Nicki sighed, feeling sad. She knows already she has lost the chance of being with the angel Noah now she learned he had a mate.

"Yeah, till death does them apart because they both are so obsessed with each other, they literally can't stay away from one another for a minute" Unlike Nicki who could watch the two lovebirds, Ariana couldn't stand the sight of them being together or even watching them cuddle so affectionately.

"Isn't what they are doing supposed to be illegal here? I mean there are plenty of stupid rules for some things that aren't even supposed to have rules here. " Nicki took her eyes off Nadia and Noah, she was starting to get jealous. And watching them only added more to her jealousy.

"Surprisingly, it isn't. And even if it was, Noah is a high guide, so there are a lot of things he could do here and won't get punished for it. Even the Alpha won't know because no one would snitch on a high guide especially if you want to live to see another day" 

Ariana moved her eyes around and her attention caught another place she thought Nicki would love to check out. But the conversation they were having suddenly became more important and interesting to Nicki than the exploration they were having.

"I'm jealous for a bit but I think they somehow really look good together, I mean look at them" Though Nicki took her eyes off the lovebirds, she was unable to stop the hunger-filled urge to steal a glance from them one more time. It was only a glance because if she stared, it might be like she had some kind of crush on Noah or something when she wasn't.

Really Nicki? A voice from Nicki's head asked out of nowhere in doubt that she wasn't crushing on Noah.

'Get off' She got rid of the voice.

"Take your eyes off them, they don't look that good together. If you think they do, then you should see me and Aiden together" Ariana turned Nicki to face her, she was admiring people that didn't desire it.

"Who's Aiden?" Nicki asked and then suddenly it dawned on her. "Oh, he must be your mate, when do I get to meet him, Ari?"

"Tomorrow, since there isn't training on Saturdays, every student gathers to dine together" Ariana's face lit with a smile at the thought of tomorrow. No day was better than Saturdays in the academy, it's the only days they get to have a breathing space.

"That sounds good, but doesn't that mean there are going to be a lot of people? How do I even eat in the presence of a multitude?" Nicki didn't like the idea of dining together with the other students, she wasn't that much of a social person so eating together at the same table with a crowd was going to be a problem. 

"That's not what you are even supposed to be worried about," Ariana could have laughed at Nicki being silly for a minute, but held it in. She should wait till tomorrow comes then she would know dining with the other students wasn't a problem, but how she would be able to survive in the diner was.

"What else should I be worried about if not how I would not choke on my food while eating in the presence of people that I don't know?" 

"Don't worry, soon enough, you will get used to it. For now, you should pray not to become someone else's food tomorrow.  Tomorrow is likely to turn out as a day you will forever remember"
