Nigel slowly looked in her beautiful grey eyes and smiled happily, but after a few seconds he noticed that her face is close to his and immediately his face became turned red and moved a step back.

"I-I will make sure that you will be proud of me as always, Elviera.", Said Nigel shyly while silly smiling and rubbing the back of his head.

"And I will be waiting impatiently to hear your next achievement.", Said Elviera happily, Nigel started to look sad gradually after hearing Elviera's last statement, and of course, she noticed it.

"Hey, what happened again? You were smiling a moment ago.", Said Elviera in concern.

"So you are really leaving?", Said Nigel while looking a bit down, Elviera understood why he looked sad, Nigel was somehow alone person, few friends but the closest one to him was Elviera.

"He's a very kindhearted person, he is even sad that I'm leaving, I will miss that elf.", Thought Elviera.

"Yeah, I came to tell you that, I'll travel in a few days, so I decided to come and talk for a bit, you know, you are the most person that made me feel like I'm still in my homeland, but that's not a goodbye of course, we will still see each other.", Said Elviera calmly.

"I thought that you will stay for more time until you learn the divine summoning.", Said Nigel while looking sad.

"I thought about it but I already miss my father, and after the last event I think he might need me by his side, I didn't train all those years to stay away and avoid helping him, I'm sure you will understand that.", Said Elviera calmly, Nigel looked at her with a mix of hesitation and sadness but gradually he smiled to avoid making her feel uncomfortable.

"I do understand you, Elviera, of course after the last dark caster attack you are worried, and it's your life not mine, but I will really miss our time together as colleagues, I really hope to see you a great person just as you wish to be, no I'm sure you will, not just wishing.", Said Nigel politely.

"Owwww, you are gonna make me cry now.", Said Elviera while smiling and Nigel laughed calmly before looking shyly at her.

"So-.", Said Nigel in hesitation and looking around him while thinking.

"So?", Said Elviera, she wasn't understanding him.

"I-I actually wanted to ask you something important, but it may be a bit personal, I'm just asking it because I really c-care about you.", Said Nigel 8n hesitation while stepping back.

"You started sounding weird again.", Said Elviera incomprehensibly while narrowing her eyes, Nigel opened a small drawer slowly behind him that Elviera didn't notice.

"S-sorry, I don't want to make you feel strange, I'll get straight into it.", Said Nigel in hesitation before finally getting a ring box from the drawer and keeping it behind him, now it's obvious why he is so hesitated now, he loves her and wants to marry her!

"So let me ask you this, you spent three years with us, the elves, you saw a lot of our traditions, and you are a beautiful and respectful woman too that will sooner or later will fall in l-love with someone and marry him.", Said Nigel as his cheeks turned red.

"I don't know what does that have to do with me leaving?", Said Elviera while smiling and looking a bit shy.

"I-it is just about knowing if you find the elves good people and not narcissist as people say.", Said Nigel while grasping the ring box tightly.

"All of you were good to me, Nigel, I have never felt different in here.", Said Elviera politely.

"Good, then while staying with us, didn't you feel close to anyone here that you may have him as your life partner, of course I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable, if you don't want to answer it I'm going to stop now.", Said Nigel in hesitation.

"Oh, do you mean that I may have developed emotions with an elf here in Yarnat?", Asked Elviera shyly.

"Exactly, someone who you think is very understanding and respects you completely and even you felt connection with him to even think about marrying him even though he is an elf which is different from you, because I think that would be amazing to see a human in love with an elf, I only heard stories about them.", Said Nigel while having a silly smile but actually he was barely holding himself from shaking.

"I think I get what you mean, actually I don't think about marrying now, it's a high responsibility that I don't think I am ready for now.", Said Elviera seriously.

"But at least there must have been someone you felt connection with, right?", Asked Nigel in a bit of fear and tightly holding the ring box.

"No, Nigel, I don't think that I have met anyone who I think will be suitable for me, although all of you are great people but love is more complicated than just studying, it is something that comes unexpectedly.", Said Elviera calmly while thinking, Nigel looked pale for a moment, of course he is shocked, there is no way he can ask her now if she doesn't share any emotions with him, it will just make things awkward between them.

"You look pale, are you ill?", Asked Elviera in worry.

"N-no, I-I am fine, sorry for that strange question, I was just curious about it, and I didn't feel comfortable with a human except you so I decided to ask you about it.", Said Nigel while clearly looking disappointed and putting the ring box in his back pocket of the trousers.
