78 NGJ Chapter 78: Dark Wisdom

Alright, I have quite a lot to go through on my to-do list. But first I put my blindfold on that my workers made. Pitch black completely opaque and enchanted with Chameleon to make it even harder to see through. Yet even with that, my vision was several times better than the average man.

Ahhh, the voes of being too strong.

Anyway, I should start expanding my army even further. Because my necromancy has received a tremendous upgrade.

This was thanks to me finally mastering my cursed technique.

And with that came the next thing.

My Necromancy had finally evolved into Adept.

Which meant this quest was completed at long last and I would finally figure out what the so-called "Last Spell" of my grimoire was. I brought out the grimoire once more and I was faced with the notification.

Suddenly, the Grimoire started cracking and breaking apart. Until it finally turned to dust and I felt a feeling enter me. It felt like murky water was flowing into my soul. Inscribing one spell into me. One more like a technique.

[Adept - Dark Wisdom]

By using Dark Wisdom on a fresh corpse you can destroy the corpse to get one of their abilities.

_____________________________

Yeah, this... this is far better than imagined. Way better than I imagined in fact. By killing the right opponents I can start stacking this up. In fact, I can even probably use this on Vritra in my pockets but haste makes waste, I can get to that later.

But I really need a list of enemies I can kill to get their skills later.

Now I should work on my army. Now that Dark Gift has reached Adept level I can give my undead an additional skill and I know what to give.

Cursed Archers / Cost: 3 / Numbers: 75 | 190cm shadowy archers wearing black half-plate light armour with black cloaks around themselves obscuring their full figure including their face. They have similarly tall black longbows.

Skills: [Augmented Perception](part of cursed eyes), [Feelin(e) Fine] ,[Draconic Power]

Cursed Death Knights / Cost: 3 / Numbers: 100 | 2.5 Meters tall, towering undead knights wielding longswords and tower shields. They wear heavy pitch black plate knight armour and have red capes.

Skills: [ Magic Resistant Physique ], [Iron Wall], [Kenjutsu(Intermediate)]

Cursed Power Lich / Cost: 8 / Numbers: 10 | 180cm Liches augmented by cursed power and a wide arsenal of spells ranging from necromancy to elemental. Wearing ornate dark green robes and wielding large wooden staves topped with red crystals.

Skills: [Augmented Mental Processing Power](from cursed eyes), [+50% Cursed Energy Output](from cursed eyes) , [Cursed Vessel]...

You get the idea, I had upgraded my entire army to cursed variants and a more uniform version. To put it into perspective most of my army can contend with a [Low - High]-grade supernatural in one-on-one and win more often than not.

As soon as I complete my base of operations along with the wards I will be dandy. The more abilities I get with Dark Wisdom the stronger my army will be. As I am right now there is little below Ultimate level that can touch me but any Ultimate class can turn me to ash instantly.

First I will get started on improving my base of operations. Azazel's men have finished construction of the Greenhouse and I have had Asia start growing herbs there. Also, my 1st body has woken up and is chatting with Rias and her peerage, most of #1's computing is put toward creating more spells for my arsenal. I use that body mostly to chill.

It kind of feels like playing a dating simulator and darksouls at once with two monitors while also solving your math homework.

Right now I need to work on my house. Because that veil I set a month or so ago? T R AS H. I need some materials to pimp my fortress more. So I decided to text Azazel. My most reliable option.

< 14:51 Necromaniac: Hey, I need materials >

< 14:56 Gov'nor: Sure I can arrange that if you really want. But you made me curious now. What do you need it for? >

< 14:57 Necromaniac: Piming my base, need materials to bind Veils to and to power my arays. >

< 15:01 Gov'nor: Pimping* arrays* That does sound interesting, I really want to see what your full "Veils" as you call them. I get you magical materials and blank talismans of that kind. But what are you going to give in exchange?>

< 15:01 Necromaniac: Don't correct my spelling mistakes. If I wanted to spell them correctly I would have. I will give you 50 each of every potion as well as 5 each of their intermediate variants.>

< 15:03 Gov'nor: Oh? Does that mean you started mass-producing? If so that is rather big, I hope you are aware of how important this is to balance of the 3 factions but I am fairly certain you are already aware. I would offer my help but I have a feeling you don't need it. List what you want, you are paying a good price after all>

< 15:03 Necromaniac: Yes, I don't. I am going to be selling on my own terms. Here is the list [View Attachment]. I need it fast. >

< 15:32 Gov'nor: Alright, I gave Shemhazai the job to get you those materials they would arrive within 24 hours. >

< 15:34 Necromaniac: K thnx. >

 ...24 Hours later...

{Basic - Water Magic Lv.59/100} -> {Basic - Water Magic Lv.92/100}

{Basic - Air Magic Lv.34/100} -> {Basic - Air Magic Lv.65/100}

{Adept - Necromancy Lv.1/100} -> {Adept - Necromancy Lv.3/100}

I have been working on something new. With the new addition of Ddraig to my party Alpha has been feeling rather... underwhelming. He is supposed to be an absolute force of nature. An unyielding wall.

Yet he isn't. He feels like an elite mob instead of a field boss. And I blame myself for it.

Alpha is my creation, and if that creation is not performing up to par it is my fault as the creator.

And that just won't stand. I will not allow my creations to fall behind. I want Alpha to be my sword and shield, an armour I can rely on, a being that I can safely turn back on knowing he will guard that back fiercely. But it's of my own incompetence that he can't.

I gave him the ability to manipulate cursed energy and enhance himself.

But he doesn't have enough cursed energy to. He has to draw it from me which would prevent me from fighting. A large oversight on my part.

So here I am making a large ass ritual with several dozen gemstones around me that their total energy nears 250,000 units. Humongous. And then I spent several hours working on a single cursed spirit.

And the result was a cursed spirit I call the "Cursed Well". Its only ability is to rapidly regenerate and hold a whopping 25,000CE. And that number will increase as it levels up as well. Fusing this with Alpha will give him the ability to freely use cursed energy that is his own instead of leeching off of me.

I summoned Alpha and he immediately knelt in front of me like the loyal knight he was. I know this decision is the best one. While I like fighting I definitely prefer it when my own army decimates the entire enemy for me.

Who would want to play Life as an Action RPG instead of an idle game?

I made Alpha shed all of his equipment. Which consisted of the Skull Helmet, Blackshard of the Dead Knight and Shield of the Yawning Dead. That's right, I was just one Artifact away from my coveted Armor of the Dammed. And alongside that, I also lacked just one item each of the Wizard's Well and the Cloak of the Undead King. After I am done reinforcing my house I will finally finish the Necropolis once and for all.

And an overpowered tank would help in such endeavours.

But M-maybe I made a miscalculation while making this new and improved Alpha?

Because in front of me now was a giant hulking Death Knight with all of his artefacts on him. An aura of destructive death was like a torrent around him. It was like my cursed energy but a much much darker blue compared to my greenish one.

I changed the abilities I had given him because he was a unique undead the Cursed Energy Enhancement I had given him he had managed to actually make it his, opening another slot for me to give him a new ability. I chose:

[Iron Wall], [Cursed Energy Manipulation], [+50% Cursed Energy Output]

But I think I managed to finally break the game.

Because how the hell.

[ Alpha - Lv. 350 ]

Is he stronger than me!?!?!?

A/N: Best man Alpha gets the upgrade he deserves. And while Akira has become a true necromancer by having his goons be his main fighting force he does not seem too happy about this arrangement.
