Chapter 39: A day in the Gojo household.

Thankfully Wiz was rather agreeable and I got her into a binding vow with me so now she counts as an extension of my Create Undead. And due to the fact that she is completely sentient and is not an undead I myself created she is not included in the maintenance costs.

An annoying hurdle would be teaching Wiz about modern culture so instead of doing that myself, I gave that important duty to Mittelt, since she is someone who has both experienced the ancient and modern ages she would be a good teacher for her.

Until then learning from Wiz isn't an urgent task and the Necropolis is not running away. So for now I was just having a relaxing breakfast with Asia. Currently, I dont know what the fuck Raynare was doing and Kala something was off trimming the bushes.

So, for now, I had some time to myself to think about my abilities. Or more specifically my cursed technique and extension techniques.

I sat on a couch as I contemplated.

Shadow swap. That is certainly an extension of my cursed technique. It allows me to swap the spatial coordinates of me and one of my undead as long as we both are in the range of my shadow.

Shadow storage. One of the abilities I just had naturally, I can store my undead inside of my shadow. Why can I do that?

This also illuminates why you can't just easily replicate cursed techniques. I am already struggling to understand my own technique so how could someone simply look at it and replicate it?

Anyways, this meant that due to my cursed technique, my shadow has spatial properties and by extension has its own pocket space connected to it of sorts.

So why would the system only show it as capable of storing undead?

Is it because that is all it's capable of?

...Or is it because that is all I know of it being capable of?

Cursed techniques are not set in stone like magic and spells. They grow as the user broadens the scope of it. If you constantly use an ability and assume it can only do that function then technically that is all that technique is.

I grabbed my katana from my inventory, to pull something from my inventory I need to physically reach into the item box of the inventory screen and drag it. Quite inconvenient during battle.

Once the sword was in my hands I activated shadow storage and my shadow expanded. And I carefully lowered the sword in, my eyes worked in overdrive as I applied the same procedure I have engraved onto me by my technique and watched the sword slowly sink inside.

Good, I was worried about it not going inside. My hypothesis was correct after all.

As the shadow storage was a part of me I still felt the katana inside of me. I held my hand out in front of me and with a simple command the katana rose out from the shadow and landed in my hand.

You can extend your shadow and store cursed objects and undead inside of it. The amount of items or undead that can be stored at once is equal to your Wis/5.

Success, I managed to improve my cursed technique.

I tested with more things and I managed to figure out the exact parameters. For example, I cannot put mundane items into my shadow. It MUST have Cursed Energy/Magical power to stay inside my shadow. Or else it simply won't go inside.

Secondly, the object must be solid or at least together enough, for example, I can't put a hand full of sand but I could put in a boulder.

Thirdly, the size of the object cannot exceed 5 meters squared.

Lastly, it doesn't matter the mass of the object or the amount of energy it has, it will always occupy one slot of the shadow storage.

And due to the experimentation I have figured out the "ability" of the cursed technique, or should I say its core principle?

My shadow has the ability to store objects in a subspace. It does so by transferring the spacial coordinates of the object to the dimension. It also has the ability to retrieve those coordinates and move them to anywhere within my shadow.

The way I use shadow swap is that as long there is a free spot in my shadow I can tag the undead I want to swap places with as stored using my shadow and use my shadow to switch our coordinates as if the corpse was going to the subspace and exiting at the same time. However instead of the coordinates being sent to the storage it is instead sent to my location and vice versa mine is sent to the location of the undead.

Why only undead? It is simply because my undead are an extension of my main technique and thus an extension of me. So if I want to, I have access to its coordinates anytime. By using the connection between me and the undead I can borrow the spatial power of shadow storage to switch those coordinates.

That's why it's listed under create undead as that is the technique that does the heavy lifting.

So, then could I develop my own skill branching off of that?

With intermediate control, it will be rather hard. But if I manage to do this it will refine my control to a way higher degree.

Think of it like an extension technique but more chimeric in nature

First, the foundation. It's shadow swap. But without the undead connection between me and the target pinpointing will not be possible.

The range will be around 5 - 10 meters. Around a third of shadow storage at its maximum. If I make the range too large it will lose power but if I make the range too small it will be useless.

When the target is in the imaginary shadow range I can locate them using sense-cursed energy, so another restriction is that the target must have either CE or MP.

After the target is set, I can use my cursed energy to send a portion of it to them, sticking it onto a random item on their person, and then the shadow connection to drag the item back to me. Simple right?

I mean it is basically the steal skill from Konsuba, I thought it would be fitting considering who I summoned. Besides this technique will fit my future plans with a certain holy sword-wielding priest.

But first I needed to actually execute the skill a few times to correctly do it. Hmm, I dont feel like interacting with Ratnare, Mittelt is in town showing Wiz around with the money I gave her, I dont want to be mean to Asia so that leaves Kalawarner I guess.

Well, nothing wrong with a bit of bonding with your sexy mature lady fallen angel maid I guess.

Sending one of the brick shit houses that was my skeleton demons to fetch her she arrived soon after. She looked quite beautiful dressed in the short maid outfit that, while looking sexy was reasonable enough that you could gaslight a guest into thinking it is proper attire.

"You asked for me, Sir?" She said cooly, well it is not like I minded very much. I guess an ice queen persona is good too.

"Yep, Kala-chan, I need you to help me practice my new technique." Hearing my words her eyes shook a bit, likely imagining from the word technique that I was referring to create undead before realizing that I would do that due to Azazel.

"Very well, what do I need to do?"

"Nothing much really, I just need you to stand still for me." She nodded and I concentrated. I applied the principle of shadow storage, I didn't extend my shadow but acted as if it was already extended. I activated sense curse energy and locked onto Kalawarner's signature.

An invisible wave of cursed energy left my body and attached itself to her while my hand was extended in front of me. Now that if I am right, when pulling my hand back that portion of cursed energy would bring a random item back with it.

"Steal."

I yanked my hand back as a black light erupted very briefly from my hand. Opening my eyes I saw a wide-eyed Kalawarner pat down her skirt. Opening my hand I glanced at it and found what happened.

Out of everything I could have managed to steal I actually managed to steal her underwear. It was a purple lace one too. I mean the technique worked I guess.

"Umm, could I get my panties back please?" Kalawarner said as she looked away. Even the ice queen can't keep a straight face when faced with this huh?

"Sure." For now.

I gave her her panties back and watched as she put them on in front of me in a teasing manner, as expected of a Grigori fallen angel. Besides, it's normal for her to feel that kind of arousal to me since the contract must have been sending her arousal whenever she thought of betraying me.

Plus, she keeps getting horny after moving into the house of a handsome young man and he is the only guy around. Coupled with the already lewd nature of Fallen Angels it made sense.

Anyway, I practiced some more with my ability. For some reason, it was more likely that I would yank her bra or panties than the apple I had her hold. Sometimes it was her skirt and sometimes it was her top. Her having to change in front of me every time just made this training all the more rewarding.

I guess fallen aren't so bad after all.
