25 Chapter 25: School Days
decided to go to school today as I could hang out with the main cast to farm affection and Sona had called into school to discuss something with me.
This could be considered a waste of time but at the same time, I don't have any urgent events near me at the moment. Plus I can grind some miscellaneous skills during class since Normies can't see through the curtains I place.
So I donned my sunglasses of which I possess an innumerable amount of. And my uniform before heading to school. After I arrived in class and greeted Aika which I have been purposefully leading on I sat down in my chair and waited for the teacher to come in before chanting in a voice no one could hear.
"Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure." And without anyone bar Kiba noticing a small black dome had formed around me with chameleon infused to make sure nobody notices anything off inside.
After making sure everything was okay I pulled out the grimoire I had gotten as my reward for beating the crypt dungeon.

A grimoire containing the research and essence of an unknown but powerful lich. Can be used to acquire skills and store souls.
Well, that's new. I have never gotten an item like that before. Wanting to know more I opened the book and started reading.
(If you are reading this then the very last essence of my being has passed away into oblivion. This grimoire contains my legacy for my future inheritor.
This book is the accumulation of my research into the art of necromancy. The book itself is a superior soul storage capable of storing an immense amount of souls.)
After a few opening paragraphs introducing the book, a menu opened up in from of me and I realized just how huge this was.

Souls stored in the grimoire are automatically converted and do not retain any of their former aspects.

Speaking with departed souls is a convenient ability to possess for extracting information. As long as you know the deceased and possess an item connected to them and their soul hasn't perished you can summon them into the world of the living.
Beware, summoned souls may not always be cooperative.
[Trap Soul - Cost: 100]
Being able to trap souls is the most vital organ of a necromancer. Trapped souls can be used to raise dead, fuel spells, rituals, and everything one can think of.
You would need to trap souls to learn the spells of this book however this book itself is an artifact that automatically draws souls of the departed toward itself and stores them.
That's right. This goddam book was a literal skill tree of necromancy containing a library of necromancer spells and advice on using them.
To learn the spells I need to fill the book with souls before using them to learn the spells. There were mundane ones such as Preserve Corpse to ones such as Cry of the Banshee.
And then there was the summon death Knight card.

Powerful undead knights that specialize in defense. With their large stature, heavy armor, and tower shield they can tank almost any blow. While their offensive capabilities aren't impressive for their level their defensive capabilities certainly are.
They possess the ability [Guts] that allows them to survive any one blow with one health remaining.
I have witnessed firsthand how absurdly durable Death Knights are. He was able to take several cursed flames to the face of which he is weak to and still manage to survive.
Once I am high enough to raise them I am definitely having some guard my fragile ass.
Next up were my gacha tokens I saved up from the crypt. The more tokens I get from a dungeon the less likely I am to get them it seems so I only have 4.

Oh yeah, now it's all coming together. I am fairly certain I know what this is and it is perfect for what will happen soon. Maybe the system decided to do me a favor?

By branding someone as a servant you can always view their general location and let them view your general location. When the servant has intents of betrayal or disobedience the brand will activate.
To bind someone to you as a servant you must place a brand somewhere on their body.
Branded servants will receive stat bonuses depending on the level of the brand.
Very good, very very good. I was afraid I would be stabbed in my sleep if I had to sleep in the same house as Raynare after all. This brand will ensure my safety at least.

After my not-so-slight emotional breakdown from being hounded by that GODDAM SPICY TOFU. I went to the Student Council room to meet with Sona once more. Surprisingly, she was alone.
After a bit of normal chatting, she invited me to a game of chess as we talked and I agreed. After a bit of playing, she finally showed me why she called me here.
"I will be honest with you. Akira, will you join my peerage?" Sona said with a serious glint in her eyes as she interlocked her fingers. If this was just about recruiting me then why get me alone?
"No, as I have said before I am not looking to trade away my life at the moment." I stated firmly. But still, Sona did not look discouraged at the least.
"Are you sure about that? Everybody has a price. And if you join my peerage you will also receive the backing of the Sitri family and the favor of my sister, not to mention longevity and all the powers of a devil. In addition, I will support you in your research financially." She said giving a charming smile.
I shook my head and moved my bishop, threatening her rook. Sona may be good at chess in a normal setting but here is the thing.
I also am good at chess. In fact, I used to play chess quite a bit in my past life on my phone to pass time. Good enough to be considered bottom Category A(1800) if I spent enough time and effort even.
That was without superhuman specs now with my current intelligence I could be considered around a Master rank. Although Sona was certainly good at chess at around high A(1950-ish) I had a heavy edge over her.
She might have been able to mop the floor with me in my past life in chess but who said things had to be fair?
"Even still, I do not plan to change my race."
"Really? Everybody has a price. What do you want? Money? Fame? Protection?" She listed off as she moved her pawn forward to take the piece I "blundered". Before she paused.
"Women?" Suddenly I felt her leg bump against mine. Was this the real reason she wanted us alone?
"You know, Harems are encouraged in devil society. If you were a part of my peerage I wouldn't mind you having one. In fact, my peerage has a lot of attractive women, I am sure they wouldn't mind being subject to your affection. Maybe they would even be willing to enter your harem?"
That's a... bold attempt. She is basically offering up the girls in her peerage to me which is very tempting, especially with my flaw. I have been making do with the toilet and my phone but it gets annoying after some time.
But even if I am horny I would also have to be retarded to take this offer. Who says I can't add them to my harem regardless? While I initially may have considered it somewhat of a joke I wanted to make progress in the harem king questline and the affection rewards were plenty good enough.
Why would I make an attempt otherwise?
"I'm sorry but while the attempt is tempting. I will have to refuse. I am always open to contracts though." Hearing my refusal once more Sona looked befuddled but I didn't give her a chance to rebuke me as I stood up and made my way over to the door.
Just as I placed my hand on the doorknob I heard Sona speak.
"Why would you refuse?" She seemed genuinely confused.
"Well, as tempting as the offer is I value my humanity." Though she seemed to accept the answer I couldn't help but add on as I turned to her slightly and lowered my sunglasses a tad before shooting her a charming smile.
"Though... I might've had to reconsider if you were included." Hearing my words she went beet red as the meaning of my words sank in before I hurriedly escaped to let her brew on her own.

After a long and boring day of school and me practicing curtain and chameleon during classes had come to an end and I had an idea. I have been neglecting a certain someone for a tad too long no?
Seeing Aika just sitting on her chair while she scrolled through her phone I got a mischievous impulse. Activating chameleon to not be noticed I sneaked up behind Aika before throwing my hands around her and hugging her from behind, also getting a nice handful of her boobs.
"Kyah!? A-Akira-kun, when did you get here!?" She went beet red as she has a crush on me. That was why I was so bold with her. So cute, so risk-free. Messing with her does not have the implications it has when I interact with supernaturals. That's why I like her.
"Yo! How are you doing Aika-chan?" I replied playfully, borrowing the charm of the original ladykiller Gojo Satoru.
"N-nothiing much. What did you want Akira-kun?" She said as she blushed heavily and started... panting slightly, I am not gonna question it. How cute though she even stuttered(for reasons I dare not ask). I am slightly prideful about the fact that I can turn a pervert into a blushing mess but on the other hand.
I look like Gojo Satoru, I better be able to.
"Say, Aika-chan. Wanna go on a date?" I said with such nonchalance that she took a full few seconds to register my words.
"EHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!??????"
