15 Chapter 15: Cursed Forest

Quickly looking over her status I couldn't help but return her level of affection. She is the one that wants to kill me for the possibility of me having a sacred gear and she is the one that is disgusted here?

There it is. The acting is fine but the scenario is so unbelievable that it gets ruined. Since a fight now would be disadvantageous and I am weaker than her the wise move is to accept the date.
"I appreciate the sentiment but why me? I don't think I have met you before have I?" When the words left my mouth she acted very shy and looked down.
"I've always seen you pass by here and... well... I knew you were my... P-please. Please go out with me!" Goddam, how can she spout that bullshit straight to my face without even cringing a little? Even I am impressed.
"Well, you are pretty cute so I dont mind getting to know you better."

Tomorrow, by the end of the date it will most likely end with my foot going so far down her throat that she will be considered equipment. I will make sure of it.

After that, we arranged the time and place we would meet tomorrow as it was weekend. Honestly, it was pretty fun seeing her act like an innocent girl when you know who she is.
I also got a quest for the date. Quite a luxurious one apparently as this one was the first quest I have ever seen with optional objectives.

Seeing those juicy rewards I was motivated even more than before. Raynare was as good as dead in my eyes. And now I had made the decision.
This time, I will reach level 50. And I would be doing it in the actual dungeon meant for my class instead of the crypt. I have been focusing too much on undead creation and neglecting my fundamentals.
'ID Create: Cursed Forest.' It was a dungeon I had unlocked when I reached level 40. It seemed like it was designed for Jujutsu Users so I chose this one.
My body vanished in place and reappeared in a dense dark wood forest with several meter-thick trees reaching up to the sky in height. The moment I was here I removed my sunglasses and activated CE enhancement before activating the technique I had been practicing.
Closing my eyes I expanded my senses with my cursed energy and the vague feelings of cursed energy I usually feel turned into visible shapes. In the world of my closed eyes, I could see various blue fire-like outlines approaching me.

Opening my eyes at the last second I parried a blow coming at my head from a bulbous blue humanoid cursed spirit and hit it with a straight. Before grabbing its arm with my left and swinging it to a tree. Ducking down I slammed my elbow upwards and sent a flying rat-like Curse away.
Twisting my body I stomped the blue one's head into the tree and exorcised it before grabbing the rat one and snapping its neck against yet another tree. Backing up a little I launched off a tree and hit a humanoid curse with a spinning kick and followed it up with a quick 1,2,3 combo.
It felt like it was snapping into place the more I used Taijutsu. I was currently grinding its rank-up quest. The one I received when I reached level 40.

Just because I dont want to fight in close quarters doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to. I dodged a lunge from a goblin-like curse before shattering its teeth with a horse kick. Thanks to CE enhancement my feet and fists were lethal weapons.
I advanced through the forest as I beat down the curses rushing at me. Every time I got hit it hurt very much, breaking bones and tearing muscles with every hit taken. Yet it was this threat that forced me to be so efficient at fighting them.
This dungeon is a field typer according to the system. Unlike floors and chests, it instead consists of an open environment that gets progressively harder the farther away I get from the starting point. It also has events and unique encounters inside it apparently.
As I was throwing elbows and knees at a large hairy cursed spirit with large teeth I suddenly felt a sense of looming danger and braced myself just in time to see the curse in front of me get exorcised immediately as a 3-meter-tall red-skinned Oni charged at me with its shoulder braced.
*BANG!*
I felt like I got hit by a freight train as I was launched into a large tree that nearly got snapped in half before the Oni followed up and ran up to me.

A horrible matchup. A am right now a warrior without the stats or skills of one. And there are 200 kilos of muscle charging at me. Just as it was about to punch my face I ducked down and reeled my leg back before releasing a powerful sidekick into its neck. I felt my cursed energy go along with my foot hitting its neck as it recoiled from the blow.
Retrieving my leg I planted it down on the ground before pivoting on it and landing a hook onto the Oni's stomach, making it cough spit. Pulling that fist back as well I hit the Oni with an uppercut. It grabbed my arm but the moment it did I kicked it in the groin before headbutting its nose.
Taking my head back I hopped back and got hit by one of its fists that it threw in anger breaking my left arm as I braced for the hit. The blow itself sent me off my feet but I regained my balance and hit the bastard's jaw with a straight knocking his lights off for a hot second. Not letting up I slammed my foot down on his knee and broke it before hitting his face with a spinning kick.
And then for good measure, I kicked his throat again.
And again.
And one more time just in case.

Checking my quest I realized that just defeating that guy made my progress go up by 25 which was insane but reasonable. It would be rather unfair if the system valued that beefcake the same as the fodder. Climbing up a tree I pulled the book and knuckle out of my inventory.

The art of out-punching your very own cursed energy.
When attacking with cursed energy you can delay the arrival of your cursed energy to the point of impact. Creating the effect of punching twice in one hit.

Ooh, divergent fist is one of the jujutsu I remember from jujutsu kaisen. It is rather decent for confusing your enemy and packing a bit more to your punches. Besides, from what I recall, when my agility reaches a certain level that my cursed energy will start lagging behind anyway. So it's good that I can weaponize it early on.
Grinding in this place was incredibly fruitful for my Sorcerer class just like how the Crypt was for my Necromancer class. For example, my current outfit was a drop from this dungeon.

A durable and specially made Sorcerer uniform made for students it is highly resistant to wear and tear and far more durable than conventional outfits.

It was good to have some protection. Plus it was way more comfortable than my robes. This place was just full of stuff like that. The only thing that made me apprehensive about being in this place was the occasional entities with massive cursed energy signatures which resulted in me turning tail on more than one occasion.
I also managed to acquire 3 useful skills that would surely help me in hunting down some crows. And in general, they were really useful as I did not really have many skills for my sorcerer class.

Use your cursed energy to blend in with the cursed energy signatures in the world around you. Making you harder to detect.

It is no invisibility but it has its own uses. Unlike invisibility, this blends my cursed energy signatures with the surroundings. Making my presence appear like a background object to magical senses, the higher the level the better the blending.

[Cursed Tool Creation Lv. 1/100]
Allows the creation of cursed tools via infusion of cursed energy. By infusing your cursed energy over a prolonged period of time you can turn a mundane tool into a cursed tool.

Although this had no immediate use it was a big boon. From what the skill gave me when I learned it the amount of cursed energy and the amount of time exposed depends on the material, origin, size, and mass of the tool. At a higher level, I would be able to influence the outcome of the tool creation even further, giving them special properties and such.
Normally skills do not give that much information but I got this skill from a drop called [Cursed Tool Creation for Dummies] which did not disappear after giving me the skill so I could still open it to look up how-to's.

Create a sharp slash of wind and launch it toward the target. Dealing (Int x 1.07) half wind and half slashing damage.

It's a good spell that gives me further elemental coverage and has more lethal potential than my other spells. And it was also pretty fast as a projectile that with my current intelligence could cut a decent-sized tree in half.
As I was sorting my inventory a particularly large but lumbering curse tried sneaking up on me before I raised my hand and a mass of wind gathered on my palm before shooting out as a crescent of wind that decapitated the curse.
