Necromancer, new branch - I can enslave the living!

Follow Bardeelus' journey as he discovers the wonders of 'pure necromancy', one of the rarest types of magic out there. Some despise it, while some adore it, but ultimately, he was free or any demonic influences and was as pure as a mage could be! Though, training was a different story. lt wasn't easy to uncover the secrets of pure necromancy, as those secrets were locked in the 'old world' of magic. Ancient and cryptic languages were a must know, if any progress was to be made, and the tag-along dangers were ten times worse! Bardeelus' goals were greater than any threat, however, as he wanted to enslave the living, without killing them. Although this was almost unheard of across the dark arts of magic, it was possible! ~ For the sake of power, he'll find a way to do it. Besides... a greater threat awaited them, the clock was ticking. He had to be ready! ~

Mend my ass

"Pure necromancer? Well, at least that confirms it. Hear that guys? I'm pure!" Bardeelus celebrated.

He expected the couple of ladies to be happy about this, but they, like normal people, were worried about the demon that shouted in their ears. They felt at risk before, but under these circumstances, death alone would be the least of their problems!

That deep, and surely demonic tone kept making demands, it said. "Bleganas, you heard me! I want that pure necromancer!"

"For your own sake, don't fail me again. Mend my star today and forever!" It also pressured.

Under these circumstances, most of these people freaked out, it was understandable. Bardeelus, however, remained calm as he still had a very dangerous trump card at hand, and figured that it was time to use it.

He saw how fussed these opponents got, and he could definitely notice that they were preparing to attack, but that didn't intimidate him. Instead, he decided to taunt them.

"Your name is Bleganas, old man? What, your mom got rammed by a demon or something?" He cackled, but quickly ran out of breath.

Bardeelus still felt tired, but from the looks of it, he irritated the other well enough, Bleganas said. "This name was my birthright! Generations upon generations have cultivated their bond with the supernatural, for me to earn this name! Now, I'm going to show you why it's so important, why I am important!"

"You're dumb, aren't you? I'm stronger than you." He countered, "You come from a line of necromancers, my parents were just foragers. My magic comes out of my ass, you're sucking on a demon's ass to get your magic."

Bardeelus had realised his worth gradually, but when an actual, god-like demon wanted his very soul essence, he knew there was more to these powers. He was truly one of a kind, and strode with such confidence.

At the moment, however, he managed to get the enemy confused just enough, to buy himself some time. He had reluctantly remembered that Audera could read minds, so once he sensed danger, he introduced the lady to a plan through thoughts alone!

She had inched towards Erdeta while this drama unfolded, and made sure that the little lady was okay. By doing so, the first portion of the plan was set to stone!

Now, he focused on getting this old man as distracted as possible, so he added. "Face it, you're nothing without your master…"

"That is true," Bleganas grunted, he felt ashamed.

"Why are you still floating around, Bleganas, kill him! Take your chance to mend my star permanently and honorably!" That deep, extremely loud tone interrupted.

"Nah, mend my ass." Bardeelus took over.

He felt Erdeta and Audera's grasp now, they hugged him around the waist. The little team took flight right after, through Erdeta's 'cricket-leap' ability; They were heading towards the one and only exit this room had!

Within a split second, he managed to implement the rest of the plan. After all, there was no point in escaping, if they'd get pinned down by anyone along the way.

With every ounce of his strength, he focused on one particular attack, and it was directed towards that old man's heart. This decision was disastrous in many ways, but it was also calibrated.

He had no interest in stealing Bleganas' collections of souls, but those things still paved the escape-route for him. He managed to fully explode Bleganas' heart, just when he and the girls made it out of the door!

As expected, extreme screeches broke out afterwards. That old man did not lie, captured souls were truly stored in a necromancer's heart!

It sounded as if they were hearing hundreds of screeches and screams at once. Mayhem had broken loose behind them, and it didn't sound possible for those necromancers to get these souls under control!

"Let's see you bastards wrestling all of that. Your cut up, glowy arms won't help you this time." Bardeelus grinned.

He had the displeasure of seeing the waves of dark-red souls, running rampant in that room, though he only saw them for a single second.

Him and the team struck a stone wall once they escaped the room, and Erdeta needed a short moment to charge up her next jump. They beamed towards some random direction in no time!

Before that, they saw how plenty of dark-red, and shadowy souls, escaped the room as well. There were too many of them in the room, there could be above a thousand even!

Whatever connection these necromancers had with one another, Bleganas' comrades simply couldn't force a thousand souls under control. In such a snug place, it was impossible even for the most skilled dark mages!

"It was so easy to kill that old fart… I wonder how weak the rest of these people are." He thought.

As if to answer that question, ten-to-twenty ghosts which had escaped the room, aimlessly followed along Bardeelus and the girls. The thing is, since these souls didn't have a particular goal, plenty of them crashed on other necromancers, and fought them!

"Is it that easy? These guys are a joke!" He cackled, and decided to buy himself some more time.

Although he felt doozy, the adrenaline rush had made him a tad more aware of the surroundings. He sensed other heart-beats nearby, which clearly belonged to other necromancers.

People were obviously rushing to the scene of the crime, but in this case, they behaved more like a blockade which could close in at any time!

It would take little effort for them to block the team's path, so as a countermeasure, he killed another necromancer who was about fifteen meters away!

Him and the girls were flying across the corridors here, and they were really maze-like, so he figured that it was important to keep these enemies busy. At least until they found a way out of here!

"Left!" Audera guided, right as they pierced between a bunch of souls.

The necromancer who Bardeelus had killed was younger, and probably had just about fifty souls stored up in its heart. By luck, the team had managed to slip between these souls, because they had flown across a wide room, which also seemed like a library. They even managed to avoid all of the other necromancers in the same room!

The reason why Audera guided them left, was because that one necromancer who had been killed, fiddled with one, solid thought throughout its last moments. This mazzy place had an exit, and the exit was just across another corridor!

The murdered necromancer had thought about escaping, but now it was too late. Audera found the way out nonetheless!

"We escaped them, and an actual demon." Bardeelus babbled along the way, "I wonder why that fucker didn't materialize here, and killed me itself. Why tolerate all of this trouble I caused them. Sounds very… weak."

"Have you ever picked up a book?" Audera scolded, while they beamed across this well-lit corridor with dark stones. "Gods or actual demons can't set foot on our world. They're too big, it would be a disaster."
