7 Chapter 6 : The Temple of the Water Goddess

The Temple of the Water Goddess Ivara, Holy Empire.

The Temple of the Water Goddess Ivara is a temple located in the Capital of the Holy Empire, namely Prometheus City.

The Holy Empire was one of the superpowers in the world today and competed with several other kingdoms. However, the Holy Empire wanted peace more than bloodshed. This was because the Holy Empire believed in the 7 Great Gods.

According to the teachings of the 7 Great Gods, the enemy that the Holy Empire must face is not fellow humans, or any other race, but rather entities that can threaten humanity's safety. Therefore, bloodshed between Kingdoms must be avoided because it can reduce the population of mankind.

One of the 7 Great Gods, is Goddess Ivara, the Goddess of Water and life. She is described as the figure of a mother who always gives water and life to her children or the whole world.

Inside the Water Goddess Temple, there is a special room that contains an elder who serves as the representative of the Water Goddess. In a way, that person was the High Priest of the Water Goddess and had been entrusted with being the High Priest for hundreds of years. Of course, by now she was very old, but her body looked like that of an old woman in her 60s.

She is currently meditating in her special room. Usually, if there is no urgent task or an event in the temple, she will go to meditate and do things like planning a ritual. In other words, she is the mastermind of many ritual processions performed by worshipers of the Water Goddess. In the Holy Empire, one is free to worship any God, but that only includes Gods or Goddesses belonging to the 7 Great Gods.

Generally, there is someone who only believes in and hopes in one God, but another person hopes in several Gods at once. It doesn't matter, as long as the God or Goddess being worshiped is still part of the 7 Great Gods.

The old woman who was the High Priest of the Water Goddess had the nickname 'Sortilegus' or the fortune teller. She is always associated with her predictions which are very accurate and very rarely miss. Even being so accurate, she once prevented a conflict that sparked a war. She could be said to be the most valuable asset of the Holy Empire. Even several generations of leaders from the Holy Empire entrusted the future of the Holy Empire to her.

Of course, it's hard, considering her current age is very old.

The room used by the old woman was a special room that was very similar to a bedroom. The area is large enough for an ordinary bedroom, and the floor is made of polished marble. There is a special meditation area at the end of the room. The meditation place is like a fairly long seat.

Of course, if you want, the seat can also be used as a bed. But the old woman very rarely used it as a bed. At the edge of the room against a long, small hole filled with water that surrounds the room. Of course, the hole is used to make the meditation room have a more sacred impression.

In the center of the room, there is a pond with a circular shape. The pond contains two fish that have black and white colors. The two of them always seem to be together and inseparable. On the ceiling of the room, there is a large glass. Of course, it was intended so that moonlight and sun could enter the room. In other words, the roof of the meditation room is made of glass.

However, if an intruder is above the glass of the meditation room, her vision will be so blurry that she cannot see the inside of the meditation room. Of course, the Water Goddess Shrine had very strong magic protection at the human level, but when compared to entities from outside the Mortal World, then the magic would have a high chance of being penetrated or broken.

It was currently midnight in the Holy Empire, the moon was directly above the sky so its light could enter through the glass and hit the old woman. Of course, either the sun or the moon is a blessing so being exposed to its light will make meditation better.

But in the middle of meditation, the old woman suddenly opened her eyes. Her expression looked both shocked and pale as if someone knew that their loved one was gone. But for a high priest like that old woman, there is no greater love than the love for the Goddess of Water, namely Ivara.

"What the hell is that!?" The old woman said in a panicked voice.

"I feel a very terrifying aura, it's even more terrifying than the Demon Emperor that appeared 300 years ago,"

When the meditation process was in progress, the woman felt a very terrible aura. But she did not know the figure who had that aura.

Her body started to break out in cold sweat because she was quite shocked and scared to feel the horror of that black aura. She was even currently unable to say much more after feeling that aura. The two fish that were previously swimming calmly in the fish pond in a circular shape now started to move quickly as if the fish were also disturbed by something.

Right now, there was only one thing on the woman's mind. The aura was much stronger than the Demon Lord 300 years ago. In other words, the aura has the potential to threaten humans. The old woman must not be careless by publicly announcing the danger, but she certainly must discuss it with the other six High Priest.

The High Priest of the God of Fire, Wind, Earth, Air, Lightning, Sun, and Moon.

The aura she felt earlier, was like that of a monster above all Demon Lords. But the old woman prefers to regulate her irregular breathing due to constantly thinking about it. Of course, if she didn't immediately adjust her breathing to normal, then it could be dangerous for her.

It would be a shame if a High Priest died in such a state of shock. Suddenly there was a knock on the door, and of course, it was from the servants who devoted their lives to the Water Goddess Shrine. Generally, a servant in a temple will get the lowest rank of nobility, so many people are eager to work in the temple. However, for the temple of a goddess, only a woman gets permission to apply to work at the temple of the Goddess of Water.

Of course, the servant knew that the high priest had stopped meditating and decided to immediately check on the old woman's condition.

"Come in." The old woman let the maid in.

The servant was really surprised, this was the first time her to see the expression on the face of the High Priest was so pale, like someone who had no hope of life at all. Of course that caused the maid to panic quite a bit, as this was the first time this had happened.

If the High Priest was hit by something bad, then all the blame would be laid on the servant who was guarding the High Priest. Of course, the servant was also quite afraid that if the High Priest's condition worsened, she would be forcibly brought to justice.

The servant immediately ran to the old woman, she also brought a very fine white cloth. Its smooth texture is like that of cotton.

"High Priest, is Miss High Priest all right? What does Miss need!?" Said the waiter quite panicked.

She felt that she would be in danger right now because the face of the High Priest looked very pale. The maid's name was Cellica. It can be said that she is the most loyal servant and devotes everything to the Goddess of Water, namely Ivara.

No answer heard from the high priest made Cellica even more anxious. She was very afraid that She would die. That said, Cellica's greatest fear was death, and she desperately wanted to avoid that. Of course, getting closer to the Goddess of Water and Life, namely Ivara, would prolong Cellica's life. That's what she believed all along.

But Cellica felt a little relieved because the High Priest took the cloth she had brought to wipe the sweat she had. Cellica then decided to take the initiative by bringing drinking water to the High Priest.

"High Priest, please wait a moment, I will get you a drink!" Cellica said in a voice that was still a little scared.

The High Priest just smiled and nodded. The old woman felt very comforted because she could still see the behavior of the younger generation which was quite adorable and funny. Of course, until now she still had not found someone who could replace the seat of the High Priest of the Water Goddess.
