Chapter 2 Part 5

"Sir, please. I can explain," Dr. Henricks pleaded as he walked quickly behind his boss, trying to keep up with his rapid pace.

"Henricks, you're fired. That's the end of this discussion." Dr. Ivano said without making eye contact with his now former assistant.

"Sir, I meant no harm," Dr. Henricks began.

"Then you should have thought about that before letting your son participate in his line of work." It was true that Dr. Henricks had a son. One of which graduated top of his class and now worked for the BBC. He is the editor of the papers and lives in the city of London. Henricks did not tell his son that he worked for the lab. He was scared to lose his job and risk the information that the laboratory had on him escape into the public.

Dr. Henricks continued to follow his boss in hopes of changing his mind but he was set in his ways. Dr. Ivano tried to ignore his old assistant but the anger began to show in his eyes. As Henricks kept rambling on about how he would promise not to tell his son Dr. Ivano got more furious.

"Lucas!" He yelled, bending over slightly to make direct eye contact with Dr. Henricks. "I don't want to hear it. Your time here is over and there's nothing you can do to change my mind." Dr. Henricks caught a glimpse of a small lightning bolt form in the corner of his bosses eye. He knew he made matters worse and quickly ran away from Dr. Ivano and out of the laboratory. He lived in the outskirts of London and decided that he needed to leave there too. He didn't want to risk his own safety and the safety of everyone who lived at his apartment complex. He drove quickly but carefully, keeping his eye firmly attached to the rode. As he arrived at Cottonville Place, the small apartment building that he had been renting for a few months, he was greeted by residents but did not bother to stop and say hi or even to have a cup of tea. He ran quickly to his room, grabbing every important thing he owned and still, without a word, left the building.

He didn't know where to go but he knew who he needed to see. With his essentials placed disorderly in the back of his Mansory Vivere Bugatti Veyron, a cheaper and older car compared to the newer models, he set his destination to Nackalin Road. A place in the Neon City. Though, getting there would be a bit of a struggle he knew that was where he needed to be.

It was only the second day that Lily had spent with the three and already she was beginning to trust them more. Not all of them though, she only felt an internal connection to Noah. They seemed to understand each other well and know which questions were not okay to ask. Emma and Troy were growing more comfortable with each other as well. It was starting to become more clear that they were obviously related. Noah eventually activated Troy's ability, after he begged for hours on end. At this point in time the group was in the backyard of the cabin. A place that was not visible to people walking in the town. Emma and Troy were trying out their powers, laughing uncontrollably, while Lily and Noah watched them from the steps. Every once in a while Noah would smile when Emma drenched Troy in water or when Troy found it rather difficult to create a hole in the ground. Lily found it rather disturbing that these two could find such enjoyment during a time of great terror she decided not to say anything though because it was not necessarily her place to.

"Noah," Emma said as she continued to play around with her powers.

"Yes?" He answered.

"Why aren't you and Lilith joining the fun?" Noah looked at Lily who didn't bother looking back.

"We simply don't feel like it," Lily responded for Noah. Noah sighed. He wondered how much longer he should continue letting the two teenagers have a laugh. He stood up and made his way back inside. Lily was the only one to notice his absence but didn't take the time to go and see what he was up to. She just continued to watch the two 'children'. Watching water and leaves appear out of thin air. Noah had told her a few tips on how she could control her new found abilities and she decided she would try it out. Still seated on the steps, she brought her arm out. She relaxed herself and soon felt the blazing fire throughout her body. It didn't hurt her but she could definitely feel it was there. The flames began to form around her forearm, burning through her magenta coat and plain white undershirt. She tilted her hand, this was a tip that Noah had given her. As she did that a burst of energy shot from her hand and onto the grass-covered ground. The fire that erupted was not large but most certainly wasn't disappointing. Troy and Emma had not been paying attention before but as they saw the spark out of the corner of their eyes, their heads shot in Lily's direction.

"Blimey," Troy said in awe.

"Wow Lilith, that's amazing!" Emma exclaimed. Emma walked over to the burning patch on the grass and put out the fire with some water that appeared out of the palm of her hand. She smiled at Lily who didn't smile back. Instead Lily quickly went back inside of the cabin, curious of what Noah was up to.

Troy and Emma quickly followed her. Troy was drenched in water but had no clean, dry clothes to change into.

"Need some help?" Noah asked after seeing the state that Troy's clothes were in.

"Depends," Troy said, unsure of what Noah would do to fix the problem. Noah formed a heavy gust of wind from his fingertips directly at Troy, catching him off guard. When Noah finished Troy looked down at his now dry clothes.

"Brilliant!" Troy said with excitement. Emma smiled, she was amazed at how mature Noah was with his powers.

"So, what now?" Lily asked as she walked closer to Noah who was standing in the living room.

"There's a person we need to find," Noah responded.

"Who?" asked Emma.

"I only know his last name, unfortunately I don't know where he's located."

"Great, this should be easy then," Lily said sarcastically while folding her arms.

"Although," Noah said, feeling a sudden memory wash over him. "I do know someone who does."
