26 Do you love me?

Without any Warning, Natasha disappeared from where she stood and appeared by his side, looking over his shoulder. "Do you think that will work?" She asked after seeing the gun that he held, his fingers ready to pull the trigger at any second.

Before he could turn to face her, she was no longer there, but sitting on the seat in front of him, like she was not beside him a second ago. "What are you doing here?" Nigel asked, pointing the gun at her.

"You wanted me to come back home the last time we met," She raised her legs and placed them on the desk while playing with her hair. "I am here now, why do you ask what I am doing in my own home? Am I not welcome here anymore?"

He didn't know what to say it how to reply. He did say he was taking her back the last time they met but then, what was that really what he meant? No, it wasn't and she knew that. He had his reasons for wanting to take her.

"I just want to know a little something, Nigel," She said and he frowned even more than he already was. She took her legs down from the bed and placed them back on the ground. "Did you ever love me? Even for just a moment." She asked.

Nigel hesitated for a while before she spoke but still changed his aim or brought down his arm. "I did, for just a fleeting moment, when I was infatuated with you until I remembered why I approached you."

"Infatuation," She repeated the word and nodded her head. "And you call that love." She chuckled at how stupid she was to have fallen for a creature like him. She didn't even know how to describe him or classify him. "I can't believe that I loved you with all that I had and this is what you have to say to me."

"The documents, where are there?" He asked as if he did not hear what she was saying.

She chuckled again but this time at his foolishness for thinking she would tell even if the gun in his hand could hurt her. "Somewhere safe and away from you and the likes of you." She said and stood up abruptly which made him step back again and I instinctively pulled the trigger at the same time before he could realize it. "That would have stunk badly," She commented. She was now standing next to him and looking at where she was standing.

He pulled the trigger once again but just like before, She was not there after the bullet was fired. She stood in front of the door and smiled at him innocently. Without wasting another second he fired at her again but this time, she stood still without moving.

He waited for about five seconds but nothing happened to her, not even a single drop of blood was seen and she did not look like she was in pain. He stared at her dazedly not understanding how a bullet to the head did not affect her.

"Congratulations Nigel, you just killed another person." She said and smiled at him. He did not understand what she meant but she didn't wait to explain it to him and left the place while he stared blankly at the spot where she stood for a moment before he shook his head and left the study.

Natasha appeared back in her room at Reaper's mansion with a heavy heart. Knowing that her love was never reciprocated even once hurt her so badly she had to pretend to be okay and strong in front of Nigel, not wanting him to see that she was affected by his words.

What greeted her was the sight of Reaper who materialized inside the room at the same time as her. "Could you help me take him yourself, I don't think I am up for that right now," she said. She opened the closet and kept the hourglass in there before turning and walking to the door.

She needed to go and get a drink to cool off because she felt her head was spinning. Everything she ever worked for, her love life, her family, and her career was all gone thanks to one man.

Natasha left the room even before Reaper could reply and headed downstairs and walked towards the liquor cabinet. It was so big that it could be mistaken for a mini-bar when Considering the variety of expensive wines on it.

Without checking or bothering to read the name, of the wine or the alcoholic content like she always did, she downed it without even using a glass and pulled a bar stool closer for her to sit.

Reaper appeared behind her after a few minutes, he watched her drink and waste herself away without stopping her.

He walked to sit next to her wordlessly and she stopped for a moment and stared at him, she looked at him as if expecting him to say something but she should have known better, that the creature sitting there now would not stop her.

"Did you take his soul?" She asked after swallowing the wine in her mouth. I left a bitter and stinging taste in her mouth which she was not used to but she forced herself to drink it anyway.

"I did." He replied and took another bottle for himself with a glass and poured the wine inside taking slow and light sips of it. "Why do you drink when you can't?" he asked, surprising her.

"My life sucks, that's why," Natasha replied and forced herself to take another big gulp from the bottle. "I have lost everything, and even the things that I thought were mine turned out to not be," and drank the wine again. "My feelings had never been reciprocated," She said and tears fell from her eyes. "He never loved me."

She took another gulp and started to feel dizzy in the head. She became more emotional with each gulp that she took. Reaper only stared and listened without saying anything or stopping her.

"Do you think anyone will ever love me?"She asked and climbed down the stool that she sat on and stood in front of him.

"Natasha... "

"Do you love me?" She asked with her hands around his neck.
