Chapter 60: Battle for the God Tree 1/2
As everyone watched in awe, the earth continued to crack, and tails began to sprout up one by one, emerging from the ground where the God Tree once stood.
The tails were thick and long, forming a menacing circle around the area. They glistened in the sunlight, growing taller and taller until a ferocious beast emerged from the ground. It possessed ten massive tails, and its red eyes were unique, adorned with nine tomoes.
The roar of the Ten-Tails resonated across the world, making everyone aware of its presence. Shockwaves spread outward, shaking buildings, shattering windows, and causing trees to sway and crack. The ground trembled beneath their feet, leaving no doubt about the overwhelming power of the creature.
Leaders of different sects who possessed low-level Otsutsuki strength wore greedy expressions, captivated by the idea of seizing control of the beast for their own ambitions.
As the Ten-Tails emerged, the God Tree began to reemerge as well. The bud of the God Tree opened alongside the emergence of the Ten-Tails. However, something was different this time—the tree's roots dispersed and anchored themselves deeply into the earth.
As the roots grew and spread, they drained the life force from everything they touched, leaving behind a trail of ruin and desolation. Any unfortunate soul who came into contact with the tree became nothing more than a lifeless body, drained of all vitality.
Overlooking the transformed God Tree, Yukari and Tia were confronted by numerous beings from this world. Among them was an elder from the Soaring Heaven sect who accused them, "It is you, you were the one who killed our Patriarch."
Other elders joined in, adding, "We will exact revenge for our patriarch by killing all of your family and its generation."
"You are lusting after swan meat like a toad. Do you believe you can take our God Tree away? Since five hundred years ago, we have been the God Tree's only guardians," said another elder, trying to assert their authority.
Yukari and Tia found these individuals insufferable. Just hearing them speak made their ears bleed. Yukari responded indifferently, "Can you guys just shut the fuck up and fuck off." An older person couldn't tolerate such disrespect from a junior and retorted, "You dare disrespect me, junior."
"Yes, indeed, I do. So hurry up, little doggies," Yukari replied with disdain. In a swift move, she summoned a slew of rods that rained down on everyone present. The attack was so swift that they could barely avoid being hit, though they managed to avoid serious injuries. However, the situation took an unexpected turn as the air around everyone suddenly became cold. Su Yang was the cause and the only one present who successfully defended herself from Yukari's attack.
Yukari's cheerful demeanor remained as she conversed with Su Yang. "Oh, Su Yang. Hello," she greeted the girl warmly, seemingly forgetting their previous confrontation. She smiled and waved at her, leaving Su Yang perplexed and somewhat suspicious of the sudden change in attitude. 'Did she forget that she nearly choked me to death?'
Tia, on the other hand, focused on her task and began her one-sided massacre, leaving everyone in her wake barely alive. Yukari returned her attention to Su Yang and continued their conversation.
"Tia, can you look after them? I know the previous fight enabled you to advance to High-level Otsutsuki. Why don't you use these cannon fodders to reinforce your strength?" she suggested. Curious about Yukari's plans, Tia asked, "What are you going to do then?"
Yukari responded with a playful smile, "Hmmm, it appears that the vessel is not present, so I will bring him here. Also, leave the Su Yang girl alone; I'd like to evaluate her worth. For a mortal, she is very interesting."
With that, Tia went on to deal with the remaining beings, leaving Yukari to focus on her objective. She activated her Senrigan and projected her consciousness around the world, searching for Feng Chen. Her all-seeing eyes found him far away on another continent.
"I guess he didn't listen to me, 'I can see everywhere,'" Yukari remarked. Without hesitation, she opened a portal and retrieved an empty sealing vessel. Knowing that Feng Chen's strength did not require weakening, she was confident that the powerful seal within the vessel would be more than enough to contain him.
As the sealing kettle grew in size, Yukari lifted the lid, revealing the dark void within. She couldn't help but reflect on Feng Chen's fate. "Poor guy wouldn't even see what was coming," she remarked with a hint of amusement. With swift motion, she opened a portal beneath Feng Chen's feet on the other continent, causing him to drop into the kettle.
Beside Yukari, another portal appeared, positioned over the sealing kettle. Feng Chen's anguished scream echoed through the air as he fell into the darkness below. Yukari couldn't contain her laughter, taunting him, "Hehehe, You should have listened to me, Feng Chen. I am basically omnipresent."
Trapped within the kettle, Feng Chen was rendered powerless, unable to escape or react to Yukari's taunts. As the lid closed, darkness enveloped him, and he was successfully sealed away. His fate was sealed, and he could only bear witness to the darkness that surrounded him.
Yukari expertly shrunk the kettle and placed it beside her, then returned it to her dimension, far away from Ryushiki. She didn't want to take any chances with Ryushiki's potential escape and resurrection due to Feng Chen's actions.
With satisfaction in her eyes, Yukari watched as the portal closed behind her. Now that Feng Chen was out of the picture, she could finally proceed with her plans for the God Tree harvest. However, before she could fully engage in that endeavor, she had someone else to deal with.
Turning her gaze to Su Yang, she noticed the bewildered expression on the girl's face. Everything had happened so quickly in front of her, with Feng Chen appearing and being sealed away in the blink of an eye.
With a wicked grin on her face, Yukari addressed Su Yang, "You witnessed that, didn't you? Now, let's see how interesting you really are." She was intrigued by Su Yang's potential and curious to see how this mortal girl would respond to the unfolding events.
