Chapter 5 : Adapt!

Naruto has been having a lot of fun with his two friends, Shikamaru might not be down for it all the time but he also enjoys it . . . sometimes, It's been a week since the Uchiha Clan got wiped from the village, Sasuke hasn't been present in classes that much, Naruto tried talking to him but Sasuke just ignored him so Naruto didn't push him and kept focusing on his training

Today he invited Shikamaru and Choji to his training ground which was quite deep in the woods, Shikamaru and Choji sat in the corner and started huffing, Naruto's daily schedule was run to this training field so that's what he did and Shika-Cho had to follow him with that speed, Naruto did slow himself down for them and they reached the training ground

Naruto from the last year found some weird things happening to him, Like when he fell from a tree and had an injury on his hand it recovered quickly but when he again fell from another tree while training he didn't feel any pain as if he could feel pain it was same when he went swimming in the cold water which still feels cold but it doesn't affect him no matter how many times he stays in the cold water

But there was one thing that was common in these situations and that was the sound like *CLINK* which always came when he was in these situations so he walked towards Shikamaru and sat next to him

"Hey, Shikamaru I need your help with something"

"If you want me to teach you some Jutsu then forget it, After that run, I have already surpassed my daily quota of energy, Also why do you even assume that I know any Jutsu, I'm still an academy student"

Shikamaru who was now calm felt like there was more hard work coming his way so he tried to dodge it

"I think I'm Invincible"

Naruto made a statement that got Shika-Cho confused

"Did beating Sasuke last year get to your head this late"

Shikamaru said bluntly as Naruto had been the first in the class from the day he beat Sasuke, His shuriken Jutsu was also perfect he had been training secretly by stealing some Shurikens from Iruka-Sensei, Shikamaru would've scolded Naruto for stealing but he couldn't because he was their strategist for this theft, He couldn't help himself and found this plan of Naruto interesting so he joined

"No, What I mean is that even if I fell from the tree or went swimming in the river I don't feel uncomfortable or pain"

"You can't be serious"

Naruto just stood up and started climbing a tree, With the help of his training his grip was good enough for him to climb trees quickly, He reached the top, and Shikamaru wasn't sure for a while about what Naruto was planning but it hit him the second he reached the top

"Are you seriously going to jump from there!?"

Shikamaru screamed and in response, he got a smile from Naruto who jumped in a childish manner and with great speed fell on the ground, The dirt flew in the air as a little crater was formed where Naruto fell 

Shika-Cho ran toward him and when they got near the crater they found Naruto standing cleaning dust off his clothes

"You believe me now"

After that Naru-Shika-Cho talked for a while and Naruto explained everything to Shikamaru and the fact that it started from the time he fought against Sasuke, Shikamaru with deep thought came up with a theory which was that he could get Immune or Adapt to some situations, This topic has got Shikamaru's full interest and he wanted to test somethings out to get to the bottom of this

He Drags Naruto to the nearby lake and Choji follows while munching snacks, As soon as they reach the lake Shikamaru holds Naruto's head and dumps his head in the water

Naruto started gagging on water and tried to get his head out of the water but for some reason, Shikamaru with just one hand kept his head in the water

'Was he always this strong?'

Naruto couldn't believe that Shikamaru had enough strength to hold him like that but actually on top of Shikamaru's hand Choji had been putting pressure on his hand which was painful for Shikamaru as his hand was being sandwiched in this situation

Naruto was unaware of that fact and he couldn't even focus on it as he felt like he was about to fall unconscious 

*CLINK*

"Choji move your hand Naruto's is not moving anymore"

Choji quickly did so but Naruto didn't pull his head out of the water as he realized that it wasn't affecting him, He wanted to see for how long he could stay in the water but his plan got ruined because Shika-Cho pulled him out because they thought he must be dead but Naruto had a bright face and clearly conscious 

"Hey, I was able to breathe underwater!"

Naruto told them excitedly and he immediately put his head in the water again to see his limits while Shikamaru and Choji just waited there, Even though it was Shikamaru's idea he didn't expect it to work, He was sure that Naruto could Adapt to certain situation with a certain time frame

It has been a Half Hour and Naruto still is in the same position, They poked his butt with the sticks to see if he is alive or not but he did react which reassured them and also they could have their fun

"HAAA"

Naruto pulled himself out and he didn't look like he was running out of breath

"Naruto, that sound you talked about, did it happen when you were in the water"

Shikamaru asked the question he wanted to ask the he was pulled by them

"Yeah!, it happened once and from that point I could breathe normally"

As soon as Naruto's explanation ended a fist came to his gut which got blood out of his mouth
