13 - 13 - Meeting the God-like being again

After practicing the Great Fireball Jutsu for hours, Izuna knew it was finally time. So, he grabbed the kunai and did the deed.

This was now the fourth time Izuna had gone back in time. The last three times, his father had progressively gotten closer to giving him the jutsu, and he felt that today was the day.

As he stood at the edge of the pier, he shot out the fireball that took up almost the entire lake.

Both Arashi and Takashi were speechless as they watched the fireball disperse. After a long moment of silence, Takashi finally said, "Son, I don't know what to say. You are truly blessed, but don't let it get to your head and continue to work hard."

Izuna was proud of his progress and said, "I will, Father, I promise." After words of encouragement from Arashi, they once again went their separate ways.

Izuna once again stood before his father after having asked for the Shadow Clone Jutsu. This time, his father didn't seem as surprised and said, "How about this: Practice your chakra control for the next year, and when you enter the academy, I'll gift you the Shadow Clone Jutsu as well as some other jutsus."

Izuna was extremely excited; this was the best response he had gotten so far. It still wasn't what he wanted, but he could see the progress. He once again thanked his father and ran outside to begin practicing his chakra control.

Izuna once again stood on the pier with kunai in hand.

As he did the deed, he could feel the save point that was still there.

But as he opened his eyes, what met him was not the usual night sky but the white expanse of the place where he had met the god-like being.

The being said, 'Hello there, Ryo, or should I now call you Izuna? Well, it doesn't really matter now, does it?'

Izuna, surprised to be here, could only ask with a worried tone, 'Why am I here? Did I die again? That can't be; I felt the save point. Did you trick me or something?'

The being then said, "Oh, no, nothing like that. I've just been having fun watching you. I noticed how much you rely on that save point for every little thing, so I thought I'd introduce a little loophole to make things more... interesting."
