Lady Chiyo

Gaara nodded and started to prepare for a big jutsu. On the other hand, Chiyo looked at Baki and the others and said "Focus on the Akatsuki member in the air. We don't want him to hinder Gaara's jutsu in any way."

Lady Chiyo had understood what kind of jutsu Gaara was going to use and it wouldn't be useful in driving Deidara away since he could fly. She then looked at Yami but just as she was going to instruct him to do something, Yami looked back at her and frowned. She quickly closed her mouth and started giving instructions to the others.

Yami chuckled in annoyance seeing that everyone had started moving and the Akatsuki were no longer showing any interest in moving ahead with the attack.

"Ughhh…these people are spoiling the dreams that I had seen for tonight. I can't just leave like this." Deidara said as he dodged a few attacks that were coming from the sand shinobis and Baki.

Sasori was staring at his grandmother since she came. He looked at Deidara as he heard what he was saying. "This is not the time to argue Deidara… we have to retreat now. Our priority should be getting Hidan back. We can't let the Akatsuki's secrets leak." Sasori said and signaled Kakuzu to target the mummified Hidan while he took care of those who are in the way.

Kakuzu who was already angry after going on the back foot due to Yami reluctantly nodded. The stitches on his entire body started to open and the hairs/tendrils inside the body started to come out.

"Gaara hurry up…I don't know what his guy is up to but it doesn't seem good for us." Kankuro shouted.

Kakuzu's had now brought the majority of the tendrils outside his body. He split them all into 3 parts and then had them all move toward Hidan.

A few sand shinobis including Kankuro rushed to stop the tendrils from reaching Hidan, but then Sasori pulled out a small puppet with multiple holes on its head. With a movement of a finger, a barrage of needles started shooting out of the puppet's head. As it was shooting, the needles started hitting everyone in their way. Kankuro was also hit by 2 of them on his leg.

He quickly pulled out the needles and saw that there was something purple on the heads of the needle. He looked at Lady Chiyo who took one of the needles and looked at the purple substance.

"This is definitely a poison but not something I have ever seen. This must be something that he himself created." Lady Chiyo said. The sand shinobis who were hit by the needles including Kankuro now started to lose their balance. They stumbled a little at first but then fell on the ground and lost consciousness. This made Lady Chiyo, Ebizo, and Yami the only ones now in the way of the tendrils but Yami looked uninterested in blocking the tendrils.

Just as the tendrils were about to reach close to Hidan, Gaara shouted…

Earth Style: Sand Tsunami….

Suddenly a big wave of sand close to 10m high rose and started moving toward the Akatsuki members. Deidara who was now annoyed by the sand shinobis threw some of his clay toward the tsunami and exploded it but it did nothing…it didn't even slow down the wave. The wave stopped the 3 groups of tendrils easily and kept moving toward the two Akatsuki members.

"I am not dying here by the hands of brats who are still wet behind the ears." Kakuzu said as he pulled back his tendrils and used them to take big leaps and run away from the sand wave. Sasori also enclosed himself in a big puppet and dug inside the ground like a mole. Due to the big wave of sand pushing in front of Yami and the others, they had lost sight of the target. Only Gaara who was now in the air could see that Kakuzu was running away using those tendrils and Sasori had disappeared underground.

Deidara looked at his fleeing comrades and decided to leave as well. Yami pulled out a kunai to throw at Diedara and even covered the kunai with lightning chakra but Lady Chiyo stopped him "If I said that the battle is over then it's over kid. I don't know how things happen in the hidden leaf but don't overstep here."

Seeing that the Akatsuki had backed off, Gaara also relaxed a little and quickly got down near Kankuro to look at his brother who was now poisoned along with the others. Seeing Chiyo lecture Yami, Gaara said "Elder Chiyo can you please look at Kankuro and the others? The usual antidotes don't seem to be working."

By the time all this was happening, Baki had instructed a few shinobis to apply for medicine on the wounds of the injured and poisoned ones. At first, they expected it to be healed easily but then seeing that it wasn't doing any good, they understood why Lady Chiyo said that she had never seen this poison before.

Chiyo just glanced at Yami who wasn't even looking at her and then she went and crouched beside Kankuro. She inspected the wound at first and then looked at the symptoms. She noticed that Kankuro was losing consciousness. She looked around and saw that Kankuro was perhaps the only one who was hit with multiple needles and that's why his situation was serious.

"I will have to figure out more things about this poison…let's get them to the hospital first." Chiyo said wiping off sweat from her forehead.

"It is that serious Elder Chiyo?" Baki asked respectfully.

"Of course it is…do you think I am joking or something? No stop gawking at me and take them all to the hospital…I will be coming as well…I can't leave the village to you all just yet." Chiyo said and Baki along with a few other sand shinobis picked up the wounded and the poisoned ones.

Within a couple of minutes, they all reached the village. At first, there was a wave of happiness throughout the village as they had succeeded in pushing back the organization of whom everyone was afraid of including the 5 great villages. The villagers did see that there were a few wounded but the fact that there were 0 casualties also boosted everyone's morale. Only the shinobis who went for the fight knew that the shinobis who were brought in unconscious might look good but some could be on death's door.

As they all reached up, Lady Chiyo along with a few doctors started looking after the poisoned ones. They had placed serious cases like Kankuro in the middle. Gaara was pacing back and forth like any other family member. He was worried for his brother but then the old man Ebizo stopped him and asked "What are you doing here Gaara?"

"Huh? Elder Ebizo…I am waiting to hear news about Kankuro…As Lady Chiyo said that his condition is serious." Gaara said as he looked at his brother inside the room.

"I understand that but right now the village needs the Kazekage…I am sure that they all must be waiting to hear from you. Leave the matter of Kankuro's and others' well-being in the capable hands of my sister. She can be too much at times but she will do anything for the village."

Gaara was about to refuse but then Yami said "The old man is right…you can't do anything here. I am leaving as well. I am sure that when the backup sent by Lady Tsunade arrives, someone might be able to figure out the antidote."

"Huh? I doubt that." A voice came from behind and when everyone looked back then they saw Lady Chiyo taking off her doctor's attire.

She looked at Yami with narrowed eyes and said "Firstly Tsunade is not someone who keeps researching poisons and why would she even send someone talented enough to cure them? No matter how much you all talk about an alliance, there is a limit as to how much help we can take."

"Elder Chiyo that's not the case. We…." Baki tried to explain but Chiyo signaled him to shut up and went back inside the room. The others also followed her except Yami.

"I will wait in the inn till People from my village arrive." Yami said and left. Gaara and the others only glanced at him and then continued to enter the room.

After seeing the condition of Kankuro and the others they all started thinking about what to do next.

Chiyo looked at Gaara and asked "So what is this 3rd eye I keep hearing about?"

Gaara shook his head and said "It is not my secret to tell. If it wasn't for Yami, then we would ve lost the fight today. I know it seems ominous for him to have a forgotten clan's dojutsu and even be capable of using it but we shouldn't pry in this matter."
