189 Berserk Mode

Itachi was a bit shocked as he heard the leaf shinobis call the kid standing at a distance Yami. Itachi would not believe that this Yami is his brother Yami if he didn't hear the word brother at the end.

'This can't be Yami.' was the first thought that passed through Itachi's mind. The kid in front of him didn't resemble the sickly kid with innocent eyes. The kid in front of him didn't even look like an average 9-year-old. He was more like a 12-13-year-old. For a second, Itachi would have believed that it was Sasuke because Sasuke had such sharp eyes when training with him or his father Fugaku.

'I guess when Lady Tsunade told me about Yami's talent is even more monstrous than me, she wasn't lying. He was able to stop my in front of which many people are helpless. He also has a summoning contract at such a young age. I have never known anyone to have bats as their summoning animal. Let's see how much you have grown Yami.' Itachi thought and brought 3 kunais from his sleeve.

"Hehe...Itachi is he really your brother?" Kisame asked.

Itachi didn't understand what Kisame meant by this so he just looked at his partner. Even the leaf Shinobis and Tsunade were a bit confused by Kisame's comment.

Kisame smirked and gripped his sword tighter as he clarified his previous statement "My instincts are telling me to run away from him. Even that old man and his big blue jutsu didn't give me this feeling."

Itachi frowned as he heard that. Being a sensor himself he didn't sense anything like this from Yami but in fact, Yami didn't seem to be alert nor had he taken a fighting stance.

'There are so many openings to attack him. I don't understand what Yami is thinking by appearing as an easy target in front of me and Kisame. I can't let Kisame hurt him too much. I will need to dish out some beating myself.' Itachi thought.

Itachi looked at Yami and was about to jump at him but Yami activated his Sharingan. Itachi felt the move was a bit odd as it was just the start of the fight but then he realized what Yami had done. Itachi jumped back and landed on the river crater which was now full of water.

The place where he was standing was covered in dust. He followed his instincts which told him an attack was coming but he didn't know how or by whom. As the dust cleared out, Itachi saw that the Samehada sword had been slammed where he stood and the sword was in Kisame's hand

Even Tsunade and the others didn't understand why Kisame would attack Itachi out of the blue.

"Why would Kisame attack Itachi?" Kurenai asked.

"Maybe it was his plan to backstab Itachi. After all Kisame had slaughtered his own teammates and left the hidden mist." Asuma answered.

This thought crossed Itachi's mind as well but then his eyes widened when he heard Kisame speak.

Kisame looked at Itachi and said "You sure are fast Yami." Kisame then looked at Yami and said "Itachi I hope you don't mind if I kill your brother." The thing was Kisame's expression wasn't laid back like always but he had a big grin on his face and his eyes were widely opened. It was as if he was in some kind of berserk mode. The ones listening to this were all confused as to why Kisame suddenly changed until Kakashi spoke.

"Yami has put Kisame in a genjutsu."

"WHAT??" Tsunade asked loudly. Putting an S-rank criminal whose strength is close to Kage level in a genjutsu is no laughing matter. The Shinobi world didn't even bother using genjutsu on shinobis at this level. But now Yami had successfully put Kisame in a genjutsu.

"Yes, Lady Tsunade and he has also convinced Kisame that Itachi is Yami. This is why Kisame attacked Itachi. But I still can't figure out why Kisame suddenly became like a hungry shark desperate to taste human blood." Kakashi said.

'He must have used one of those heart rate rhythms to make Kisame feel some kind of strong emotion. But how is he able to do it from so far and how is he maintaining the rhythm when Kisame is physically fighting? Looks like Yami has been trying to improvise my clan's jutsu.' Kurenai had reached her own conclusion and rightfully so Yami had improvised her clan's jutsu and was able to perform it from a distance but the only issue was that he was able to create only 2 kinds of emotions. One was berserk which he had used now while the other was to shut down a person's instinct from warning him/ her of incoming attacks. Yami found that instead of using normal chakra if he used Yin chakra, he could manipulate the heart rate of those who weren't actively aware of it.

Itachi was shocked after seeing Yami show such great potential for Genjutsu. He wanted to encourage Yami more but right now a hungry shark with a sword was standing in front of him. Kisame rushed at Itachi and started waving his sword. Itachi dodged a few times but he was also a little tired. He had just used the Tsukuyomi. Kisame rained down attacks in a frenzy and even targeted Itachi with two dragons made of water. Itachi dodged the first one but was grazed by the second one. His arm only had a few cuts and one of the white clouds on his Akatsuki cloak was soaked red in blood.

Itachi looked at Yami and said "Come and fight me." He wanted to get the entire fight over with. He tried many times to get close to Kisame so that he can obstruct his chakra pathway and break the genjutsu but Kisame didn't let Itachi come that close. The speed at which he swings the Samehada had increased since he entered the berserk mode.

Yami gave a small smile and said "I will after you defeat him. Like you told big brother Sasuke 'ONE HAS TO PROVE HIMSELF WORTHY'. So now you have to prove yourself worthy of fighting me."
