Cold!

Shikaku: "Shikamaru, have you known about the Uchiha incident before it happened?"

I don't even know how this question came to his mind, but isn't dad little late asking this question, I have finally been given all clear by medic nins, I have struggled for more than 5 years to reach this moment of finally attending ninja school, and what my dad does is call me to ask if I knew about massacre.

Shikamaru: "Should I know about this, would I ever tell you I knew, and how would I even know something like that?"

Shikaku: "hmm, troublesome, just coincidence aligned on that day was too favorable for your conscience if you knew anything, and what you knew that is a question strategy department is concerned about. Were you having any information or irregularities in uchiha clan or itachi's behavior through Izumi?"

Shikamaru: "Not other than the usual grumblings of civilians but other than that I can't think of anything which could have given me such information, and also my aim was for mom to have more fraternity with her family".

What is going on, why is Konoha's strategy department interested in my personal affairs. This does not bode well, at least I have my clan behind my back for protection from the likes of Danzo.

Shikamaru: "I will have to start for my first day, do you have any other questions?"

Shikaku just motioned his hand for me to go, as usual, too lazy to say it. But sometimes it is scary how accurate his hypotheses are, if he had more data he could have concluded on it. Only question now is how much information did he gain from our conversation.

Now on good part is, I have finally reached reached mastery in my yang chakra enough for it to have balanced my yin chakra, by balance I don't mean that both are equal, no absolutely not as with regular high intensity training my yang chakra increased, but regularly emptying my Yin chakra as much as possible has also increased yin chakra significantly. The thing which is balanced is my bodily functions which are not failing anymore. My life expectancy projections have also increased significantly. I don't think my parents will be worried about me being too frail anymore.

I have only got one year with the current batch to establish myself. Before entering the final year I have to perform well in the test satisfactorily, I am not sure who will be my examiner. When I reached the designated classroom, I could see a lot of curious students looking at me on the way. Room was empty, so I took my seat and started to relax. Soon a man entered the classroom, and introduced himself as the examiner. My first test was written on the academy syllabus. I completed the test before the given time, as most of the questions were easy with an expected accurate answer.

I was taken to a shooting range, where the examiner asked me to throw standard shuriken at targets, I don't think myself an expert in shuriken, but I somehow managed to land three in the bullseye and rest 7 in the inner circle. That was good performance, thanks to dad and Akimichi uncle that I have my basics pretty strong, with my body being fragile, I was grinded for basics all the time, the only chakra based exercise which I was allowed was Yin and Yang, this is why I have few genjutsu learnt after pestering dad a lot.

Next was the chakra application test, where chakra control and jutsu execution is tested. I have already thought this through as I was not taught or even allowed any jutsu even basic three were not taught to me, I have first shown the examiner leaf sticking exercise, by sticking 10 leaves on different parts of my body. Last but not least, I also offered to show a genjutsu, as I wanted to join an elite class. Genjutsu which was executed was a very subtle genjutsu of perception. I asked the examiner to hold ice and performed my genjutsu, the basic perception altering jutsu, which I re-engineered to affect senses associated with external stimuli. This was theoretically the base for the bringer of darkness created by the second hokage. The principle is to invert the perception of light in the cornea. This brings complete void in eyes, as reflection of light is what forms an image, but that is blocked as light entering in the eye is not acknowledged. I have done something similar to the person affected by my genjutsu, inverting their sense of temperature.

The sense of temperature is like having a thermostat inbuilt in our body which check presence of heat, and absence of heat is perceived as coldness. But as fundamentally temperature is due to presence of heat the inversion helps such that body doesn't acknowledge any temperature making the person feel indescribable cold. As the feeling of cold felt by person will be individually different. And this will trigger the defense mechanism of the body to fight extreme cold, leading to extreme rise in body temperature which even leads to death if a person is not taken out of genjutsu.

This jutsu is what I applied on my examiner for a few seconds, which leads him to collapse on his knees, sweating all over and feeling disoriented.

I aced my test, but this also highlighted my danger level to village administration. My exposure to such a strong technique would seem dumb. To understand my reasoning of such exposure so early, we have to first see that fundamentally this world is having a different society. Here, people with individual strength are respected and have access to higher resources. This society also behaves in a manner of zero sum game when it comes to resources. So even if you are from a modern world where you understand economics enough to understand that sharing leads to more opportunities in the long term. All these will become null with the mentality of hoarding others.

So even in the same village if I don't show that I am someone worth investing with enough individual strength to protect my interests, then my rights will be trampled by others. So I decided to go all in and show a killer genjutsu which I will not share with the village, making it a clan property and getting renowned for it.
